That day, the sun was so high up in the sky that Charlotte thought it was going to be sunny all day. The sky darkened the moment she emerged from the subway and grew nervous. She looked down at her ironed pencil skirt and corporate blouse and whined at the picture of having this ruined by the incoming rain. Worst of it all was that, she wasn't with any umbrella, and she was going to be so wet.
She kept moving.
She only had few minutes of walking to the newspaper company for her interview, and she was already late by three minutes. She increased her pace when the sky began to drip and little raindrops could be seen on her white shirt.
She walked faster as the rain picked up its pace, cursing several times when her knees would bend at awkward times to keep up, since this is her first time learning how to be used to heels as an adult.
