She laid in bed for the rest of the day and by the time she woke up, her stomach was literally growling and threatening to tear her inside out if she doesn't respond to it. It was evening and no one is yet to check on her or give her something to eat since she woke up yesterday morning.
Evangeline rose to a sitting position after being bored to death with her eyes glued to the colorful paintings on the ceiling of her room.
She looked around and still could not get used to the space and furniture of what would be her room as from now on. Everything was outdated, and it felt like she traveled back in time as a supernatural werewolf princess than transmigrating into another world that shouldn't exist.
The room was huge and excessively decorated, but it wasn't too girly as if a Disney princess puked in her room. The colors on the surrounding wall were cold white and solid. A beautiful crystal chandelier hung above her head.
Evangeline decided to step on the floors of her room for the first time since her awakening and not just rot on this comfortable bed for life. Her feet met with the cold floors and admired how they got their floors to look so blue and glassy. It added to the whole ethereal feel of this room that somehow looked enchanted. There were patterns on the floors that all connected to a giant ring of other patterns she couldn't really make sense of at the center of her room.
There was a nice fireplace pushed to a corner, a large standing mirror on the left side of her oval-shaped bed. She gasped, eyes wide, as she stared at her princess bed.
It was massive and more king-sized than queen-sized. Right next to it was a spacious balcony, tempting her to step out and feel like a true princess.
Evangeline was beginning to love her room more. It was much better than the boring, tight one she managed back at her home in the world she died from. She ran her fingernails on the hard wood of her vanity table that was filled with strange, nameless beauty products she made a mental note of not trying out anything on this table until she was sure of their uses and safety. There was also a cozy reading table that faced the two windows draped in thin blue curtains with perfectly designed symbols of the moon and wolves howling to it.
Charlotte was grateful that there was something her and the owner of this body has in common and that was reading. When she wasn't working and busy blocking all of her friends who also agreed she suffered from a mental illness, she read.
A lot.
And no, not those cheesy romance books about a man who is overly described to be perfect and doomed to have happy endings, she enjoyed reading books that centered on tragedy, wars, historical facts, horrors and paranormal books. She also interested herself in political books and books that talked shits about the flatness of the earth and how the ocean is basically loaded with sea monsters.
Evangeline chuckled as she pulled out one of the books from her shelf to see what the previous occupant of this body loved to read. It horrified her at what the first pages of the book welcomed her with. She snapped it shut and quickly placed it back where she pulled it out from with half of her cheeks on fire and her heart racing.
No wonder why she desperately wanted Alpha Jack of the Canine Pack to be her mate.
Evangeline stepped back in terror at the fact that sexually guided books or themes also existed in this world as well. She shook her head as if trying to convince herself that her two eyes didn't just read through that.
Anyway…
She turned around to explore more interesting things about this room that looked more than half the size of her entire apartment back when she used to live. She smiled when she walked into her moderately sized closet that was filled with beautiful blue winter coats with white furs lacing the collars.
Evangeline must be obsessed with the colors white and blue because that is basically the whole theme of her room and belongings—even down to her hairbrush. It was dark blue. She had many clothes but plenty of winter coats. It gave her an idea of how the weather condition in this realm is. Shoes that were not expected of a princess but comfortable to walk in.
She wore belts, and it was more interesting when she saw she created a space for her shiny sharp sword.
Probably a warrior princess as well.
An impressive smile spread on her lips at the thought of her wielding this long, sharp sword with her body. The smile fell when above where the sword was placed on like a treasured trophy—the horrid paintings of Alpha Jack of the Dental Pack grinned down at her. She fell back at the sight.
He really looked like an overweight caveman and Evangeline really needs to revise her taste in men. He literally looks like someone who is out to take advantage of you. His cold brown eyes darker than they were meant to be. His muscles bulging out like someone who has spent his entire life in the gym doing a thousand push-ups daily. He wore what looked like the skin of a lion around his broad shoulders.
The weapon firmly in his hold was a double-edged axe and this painting did a good job to portray the aura of—I am thirsty for blood, but I also want you to give yourself to me, princess.
Evangeline scoffed as she stepped out of the closet and explored other parts of the room with a satisfied smile. It wasn't that bad or not conducive—although the room needed some tech facilities that would make living here much easier.
Evangeline stepped onto the balcony and gasped. It was bigger than she'd imagined. The crisp, biting scent of winter filled the air, and the view of the unfamiliar world stretched out before her giving her a breathtaking sight she couldn't ignore.
