Rhett was terrified, he blinked thrice quickly, in a row and turned forward, his voice producing a hoarse shout, calling Haicor.
"Haicor!, Haicor!, Ash has fallen".
Haicor quickly spun backwards, her face in shock.
"Fallen?", she asked, clarifying, her tone doubtful.
"Do you see him!", Rhett asked, his eyes almost coming out.
Haicor stared at the albatross carrying Ash earlier, Ash wasn't there.
"He has fallen", she said.
Rhett tried to speak another word but was stopped by the swift motion of Haicor albatross, which reversed and rode past him swiftly. The other albatrosses followed, including Rhett's.
They came down, Rhett struggling to hold, grabbing the neck of the bird and almost strangling it.
The grasses were beginning to become bigger as they rode down in full speed. Rhett had no control of his albatross and for a reason he kind of disliked it. His albatross (and literally the others) were moving at such a fast pace he too had a chance of falling like Ash had done.
The birds were soon approaching land, Rhett felt, from the distance they were that in less than a second or two they would be on the ground and..
BAM!
They were on the ground.
The birds landed quite badly and Rhett almost injured himself as he struggled from the birds before the landing. Meanwhile, Ash fell with charisma.
Haicor was on her feet while Rhett managed to stand up, dizzy from his landing. Their eyes scanned the area but saw nothing and it left them quite perplexed.
Rhett complained under his breath, releasing a thick spit in his mouth on the grass and stepping on it with his right foot.
"Damnit!, where the hell could he be?"he asked, confused.
"Anywhere", replied Ash with cool.
"Anywhere?", Rhett said. "Arghhhhh!, and only he knows the forest behind the sword lands".
Haicor climbed back on her albatross.
"We'll have to look for him on the birds", said Haicor. "That way we'll be faster, there are many lands here to cover and on foot we'll be too slow".
Rhett sighed and used his right head to hit his forehead while exhaling and inhaling calmly.
Haicor looked at him indifferently, now she looked and acted smart and that to Rhett was kind of humiliating.
"You're king, you've got to be brave and act like one".
Rhett was silent after that word and stared at her face for quite long.
Haicor stared back with an uneasy smile and was about to tell him to hurry up and enter an albatross but Rhett had already read her mind.
He walked quickly over to one and entered on it, his face now hardened. Haicor whistled and that brought the albatrosses up, in the air, just a bit off the grass.
"I'll control the birds to fly just a bit in the air", Haicor said. "It'll be like we're walking but faster, this way we'll be sure not to miss any signs of him".
Rhett nodded in the affirmative as the albatrosses positioned for flight and with a cool, deep, commanding and royal voice, he said:
"Let's find my assistant!".
The wind bolstered the albatrosses forward, flying at an average speed, not too fast and then not too low, instead just something in the middle.
Rhett looked at the other albatrosses following them and thought that they weren't useful in a way because they only needed three and not seven. Well, right now they were only using two so them tagging along was quite pointless.
"Why are the other albatrosses following us?", Rhett asked. "I mean you could just send them away".
"I can't", Haicor said. "They came as a flock so I say they remain like that. They'll be of help later and perhaps the other albatrosses we aren't using are their family. I wouldn't love to separate them".
"Fair enough", said Rhett.
They were starting to see big rocks up ahead, pinkish things that felt like small mountains.
"I'm quite shocked", Said Rhett. "Ash just fell and I'm not sure he would have reached here by now".
"Well, he's not where we had passed either so …, yeah", Haicor said.
The birds went up in a sort of loop as they avoided hitting the pinkish rocks. Frankly, this place seemed sort of weird to them. They could just see small mountains randomly, it was sort of bizarre.
Rhett kept looking down if he could see any sign of Ash but he didn't. Instead he saw skulls and shields and swords, all pinkish. That got him thinking if this place was once a battleground. He didn't know why it was pink or why there were many medieval related stuff there. He wished to know though, perhaps soon he'd know the secret of this place.
Haicor looked focused and even Rhett though looked the part - he was trying. The wind, now like a swift zephyr, came like a swoosh, soothing their faces as they rode. Haicor was used to it, she was chill, while Rhett, wanting to be excited, wasn't used to it, this was literally the first time he was riding a bird and even though daunting, it was kind of cool.
Two eagles were rushing to them, pinkish, large things, with massive feathers and large beaks. With large eyes also, one that seemed to stare at your soul.
Haicor controlled the albatrosses downwards quickly and they landed egregiously on the ground. Rhett reeling off his.
"Eagles fly in the skies and not down the earth!", he exploded in fury.
The pinkish eagles had already flown past them, moving without showing concern for Rhett's complaints(of course they were just birds). They ought to be flying but in this pinkish land, anything could happen.
Haicor quickly dismounted from her horse and pointed forward.
Rhett quickly looked at where he Haicor was pointing and that sent him in a run. Haicor too followed and so did the albatrosses (they actually flew).
Ash was on a dark table, his hands and legs tied, a figure clothed in a dark, rag-like cloak, the hood of the cloak covering his face. He held a large dark sword and was raising it up, to cut Ash in half.
