Chapter 3 - CHAPTER 1 (Part 2/3): A change of airs

A while later I got off the truck, very close to the store, with my ice cream already finished, leaving only the cone napkin in my hand, I wasn't quite sure where it was, so I checked the GPS on my cell phone to make sure.

-Well it's supposed to be right here? Oh my god!

The building looked old, with a Victorian style, it was large, red with a front staircase leading to the only entrance. This building was in pretty bad shape, garbage bags had piled up at the entrance, several graffiti painted on the walls and light fixtures, as well as a couple of glass panes on the front were broken or missing.

"I think this place is no longer operating..."

Suddenly a led sign lit up above the door, with the text 'The Devil's Warehouse', at the same time the lights inside the building came on and the door opened ringing a bell that surely served to announce the arrival of a customer.

"Well... I've come this far, and it really looks like they need some extra hands."

I dropped the napkin in the trash pile and entered the store. It wasn't the kind of store I was expecting, it was closer to an antique store or pawn store, it was a bit of a mess and there was dust all over the merchandise.

I spent some time wandering around the store, looking for someone, but after a while I found no one. I approached the counter at the back of the store to check my cell phone, it was already past 9 pm.

"It's already too late, I have to go home. What a bad place to put the counter, someone could steal something from the front and they wouldn't even notice."

Just after making my opinions about the bad arrangement of the premises and deciding to call the mission a failure, and retire, but suddenly the lights went out.

-Oh right, fabulous

The whole place took on a very somber vibe. With only the light from my cell phone to illuminate the large store, I looked from one side to the other feeling the courage and confidence I had tried to sustain in this strange situation fading, I felt the urge to run away, but the weight of my pride helped me to restrain myself, instead I marched steadily, at a fast pace (and trembling a little) towards the exit, when suddenly I saw something.

A green light in a dusty display case with broken glass, curiosity overcame my fear and I approached it captivated. The curious glowing object turned out to be a pinwheel, it was green with white lines on its blades, its handle seemed to be made of thin vines and most importantly, in the center of the propeller it had a round green gem that produced the glow.

"How cute, will there be a problem if I take it, but well it has a lot of dust on it."

Immediately I blew on the pinwheel, at once it spun at great speed for the small amount of air I blew causing a whirlwind to appear that spun around me sending up a large amount of dust along with already forgotten objects. The sensation was magical, I felt my body fill with energy and joy, as if the air was dragging my fear with it, also elevating the dreams I had locked in my heart.

-Great!

But everything that goes up must come down "Crash" the objects that also flew out crashed to the floor, making me jump.

-Oh, you little rascal... oops.... well that was interesting

-Certainly...

Said a deep, raspy voice behind me, a shiver ran down his back and I feared with all my being to turn around. But I couldn't help it, I had to at least see who it was that would kill me. I turned around, my hand trembling as I held the cell phone, but, still, I raised it toward the voice. What I saw made my blood run cold.
