Isis drove her car straight into the parking space of Deluna Hotel. She glanced at her reflection in the rearview mirror. Her lipstick was slightly smudged. Reaching into her handbag, she pulled out her favorite red lipstick and carefully applied it to her lips. She pressed her lips together to even it out, then ran her fingers through her hair, pulling it back neatly. Satisfied with her look, she smiled, picked up her handbag, and stepped out of the car.
Deluna Hotel was one of the largest and most luxurious in the city. Known for its exclusivity, guests were required to make reservations well in advance. As she approached the building, two uniformed doormen greeted her with polite nods and held the glass doors open for her.
Inside, the hotel's elegance was breathtaking. The lobby was spacious, illuminated by a massive crystal chandelier hanging from the high ceiling. The floors gleamed with polished marble, Ornate gold accents decorated the walls, and large, plush sofas were strategically placed in cozy seating areas. The air was filled with the soothing sounds of classical music playing softly in the background.
Isis walked straight to the reception desk, which was an impressive piece of craftsmanship made from dark oak with intricate carvings. Behind it stood a man dressed impeccably in a black suit, complemented by a pink bow tie.
"Good evening, ma'am," he greeted her with a warm smile, his voice smooth and professional.
"I made a reservation for five o'clock," Isis said as she approached him.
"Okay, ma'am. What's the name?" the receptionist asked, his fingers gliding over the mouse as he focused on the laptop screen.
"Isis Queen," she replied confidently.
his face lit up as he located her booking. "Oh! Here it is. Your table is table four, by the window," he said with a smile.
"Great. Oh, and I have a date. Please direct him to the table when he comes," Isis added.
"Of course, ma'am. I'll take care of it," he assured her.
With a nod of appreciation, she turned and began searching for her table. The dining area was spacious and elegantly designed. Soft lighting bathed the room, highlighting the white linen-covered tables and the golden details on the chairs. The polished floor gleamed under the warm light, and the gentle hum of conversation mixed with soothing background music. Large windows lined one wall, offering a stunning view of the city skyline as the evening lights began to twinkle.
Table four was easy to spot. It was the largest table by the window, with a perfect view of the cityscape. She had specifically chosen it to create a romantic atmosphere for her and Barry. A small vase with fresh roses sat at the center of the table, adding a touch of elegance.
she took her seat. Moments later, a waiter dressed in a crisp white shirt and black vest approached her. "Good evening, ma'am. What would you like to order?" he asked, handing her a leather-bound menu.
Isis opened the menu and scanned the options. The pages were filled with exquisite dishes, but she knew exactly what she wanted. With a smile, she closed the menu and handed it back to the waiter.
"I'd like a bottle of champagne, please. And bring two glasses—I have a date," she said warmly.
he nodded, noting her order with a smile. "Right away, ma'am."
As she waited, she glanced out the window, the city lights shimmering like stars. She smiled, imagining the romantic evening ahead.
The cool evening air seeped through, brushing gently against her face. Outside, the city lights sparkled like stars, soon her thoughts wandered to Barry and the surprise she had planned for him. She imagined his reaction, hoping it would fill him with as much joy as she felt at that moment. A soft smile played on her lips as she thought about how much effort she had put into making the evening special.
"What's keeping him?" she muttered under her breath. She reached into her bag and pulled out her phone. Just as she was about to dial his number, her eyes caught sight of him walking into the restaurant.
Barry looked effortlessly handsome. He wore a vintage shirt, perfectly tucked into tailored black trousers. His shirt had a subtle floral pattern, His dark hair was combed back stylishly, giving him a sleek, polished look. As he smiled, his white teeth lit up his face, and she felt a flutter in her stomach. Even after five years together, he still made her heart skip a beat.
A wide smile spread across her face as she stood up to greet him. "Babe, you're finally here," she said, her voice filled with excitement as she walked toward him and wrapped her arms around him.
Barry returned her hug warmly. "Have you been waiting long?" he asked, looking into her eyes.
"Oh, not really. I just got here a few minutes ago," she said, leading him toward their table.
As they sat down, he glanced around the room, taking in the elegant décor. "Wow… this place looks amazing," he said, his voice full of admiration.
"You like it?" Isis asked, her smile widening.
"Of course, I love it! How much did you spend reserving this place?" he asked, teasing her lightly.
Isis chuckled softly, shaking her head. "You don't need to worry about that," she replied. "I planned this evening for us." Her eyes sparkled as she spoke.
He reached across the table and gently took her hands in his. "I love you," he said, his smile warm and genuine.
"And I love you more," Isis replied, her eyes sparkling with affection.
He studied her face for a moment. "You look a bit stressed. How's the design coming along?"
"Oh, it's going pretty well," she said, relaxing into her chair. "Melanie has been quite helpful."
At the mention of Melanie, Barry's smile faltered, and he sighed with irritation. "That witch."
Isis burst into laughter, shaking her head in disbelief. "Why do you two hate each other so much? Mel is so sweet! You really need to get to know her better before judging her."
Barry leaned back with a skeptical look. "You see, the feeling is mutual. We just don't like each other. She's so condescending and full of herself."
"You don't have to be like that," Isis said with a grin. She leaned forward slightly, lowering her voice playfully. "By the way, I have a surprise for you."
He raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "A surprise, you say?"
"Yes, of course!" Isis said, in excitement .
Just then, the waiter returned, pushing a silver trolley. On it was a bottle of champagne, along with two wine glasses. He expertly placed everything on the table, then poured the champagne into the glasses .
"Enjoy," he said with a polite smile before walking away.
"So, what's the surprise?" he asked, his curiosity growing.
Isis's face lit up with excitement. "Well… I've planned a getaway trip for us to Dubai!" she announced, clapping her hands in delight.
Barry's jaw dropped in disbelief. "Oh my God, this has to be a joke!"
"Why would I joke about something like this?" she said, laughing. "We're going to Dubai this weekend!"
Barry shot out of his chair and pulled her into a tight hug, planting a kiss on her lips. "Wow! I can't believe this!" he said as he sat back down, still stunned.
Isis smiled, clearly pleased with his reaction. "I knew you needed a break. I've noticed how hard you've been working lately."
"You have no idea how much I needed this," he said, shaking his head in amazement. "Work has been so exhausting. This is the best surprise ever."
"We both needed to unwind," Isis said, smiling warmly.
Barry nodded enthusiastically, his excitement evident. He reached for the two wine glasses on the table and handed one to her. "Cheers to love," he said, grinning.
Together, they clinked their glasses, the soft chime echoing gently in the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant. They each took a sip, savoring the bubbly taste of the champagne.
After a moment, Isis stood up. "Can you excuse me? I need to use the bathroom," she said politely.
Barry nodded. "the batthroom?," he asked concern etched in his voice.
"Don't worry, I won't be long," Isis assured him with a smile before making her way toward the bathroom. her heels clicking softly against the polished floor.
As soon as she was out of sight, Barry's demeanor shifted. He quickly pulled out his phone and dialed a number. When the call connected, his face lit up mischievously. "Hey, love," he said, his voice soft and teasing.
From the other end, a voice replied, and Barry chuckled. "Gosh, I'm so bored here. She just went to the bathroom," he said, glancing around to make sure no one was listening. "You know I can't wait to get out of here and see you," he added, laughing quietly.
The person on the other line said something that made him grin even wider. "Don't worry, I'll wrap things up here soon and come to you," he said with a final chuckle before hanging up.
Barry set his phone down and picked up his wine glass. Swirling the remaining champagne, he muttered to himself, "A trip to Dubai? This should be fun." He then emptied the glass in one gulp and leaned back in his chair, a sly smile playing on his lips.
