"You can't go back and change the beginning. You can start where you are and change the ending." - James R. Sherman.
"Welcome to the initiation of your galaxy. We are here to assist you before the trial."
A creature with a flat face and a square but humanoid body spoke with no mouth, sounding vibrational but not robotic, its voice fluctuating between feminine and masculine.
"W-Where am I?"
I looked around, spooked and unable to hold back from asking that question.
"You are currently in a nondescript location, the void. Please select your class."
Before I could ask more questions, another screen popped in front of my eyes, showing a list.
[Class options available. Warrior, Healer, Rogue, Caster.]
I stared at the options, unable to process them, but bit my lip, refocusing on reality.
"I need to choose a class suited to myself to survive."
Looking at the list for a while, I took a deep breath and closed my eyes before selecting.
[You have selected Caster. Is that correct, Y/N]
[Congratulations, your class is now Caster]
Before I could finish reading the system message, the being spoke again.
"Now you must bring up your status screen to allocate your points before skill selection."
"How do I bring up my status screen?"
It can't be as simple as thinking Status... and there it is. The creature didn't answer my question as if it knew I had figured it out.
[Status
Name: Grace Heathfield
Race: Human (G)

Profession: NA

MP: 50/50
SP: 50/50

"What is the average for someone my level for my stats?"
Looking at my stats I can't help but feel disappointed by how low everything is.
"The average range for one's stats at your level is approximately between one and ten."
Still with that voice I frown.
"How do I get more information on my stats?"
Its face moved even though it is flat but still moving as if such information is trivial.
"When needing information on things as titles or stats and what they affect all you have to do is focus on what you want more information on. Now select where you would like to add your points."
Points? Oh, I almost forgot.
"Am I able to allocate points at any time?"
"Yes."
Going back to my status screen I continue looking at my stats once more.
[Stats
Strength: 2 Agility: 5 Endurance: 3 Vitality: 4 Durability: 2 Wisdom: 4 Intelligence: 7 Perception: 3 Will: 3
Points: 10]
"Is there a limit for my levels?"
"Yes"
Is it going to tell me?
"Are you going to tell me?"
"Your stats are only able to have your highest stat ten times higher than your lowest stat."
With that I looked at my stats before deciding to put points into Endurance, Strength, Perception, Agility, and Durability. I could enhance my stats to cast magic better but no matter how powerful magic could be it doesn't mean anything if people hurt me before I finish casting.
[Updated Stats
Strength: 2-4 Agility: 5-7 Endurance: 3-5 Durability: 2-4 Perception: 3-5
Points: 0]
"Select three spells to cast all spells shown you have an affinity for any spell that you don't have an affinity for you won't be able learn nor cast so if you learn any spells in the future make sure you have an affinity for it or else you can build your tolerance and affinity with backlash."
That's the longest sentence I've heard from this being. Wait backlash affinities? Bringing up my status I kept thinking Affinity as the Skills to select appeared on the side
[Affinity
Water, Earth, Fire]
Three? I thought there were several affinities when it comes through magic.
"Why does it only say Water Earth and Fire?"
"The four basic Elements is Water, Earth, Fire, and Air. Each can be combined to create a sub species of magic although the terms Water, Earth, Fire, and Air Doesn't actually fully pertain to what you are wielding. Water you can manipulate anything from gas to ice. Earth is anything from plants to dirt and rocks. It is also something needed for taming. Fire is thermodynamics could be from the coldest of cold to the hottest of hot. Air is more like wind and space."
"What about light and dark?"
"Light and darkness are forms of mana dependent on your affinities. If your affinities have Water and earth, you can manipulate darkness if you can manipulate Fire and Air, you can control Light."
Muttering to myself I turn away talking to myself.
"I can't teleport?"
Teleportation magic would have made traveling so much easier.
