Chapter 1 - Escape from the Abyss

"Why me? Why is it always me?" I muttered to myself every day in this hellhole.

Every day, I was experimented on. Every day, I was tortured. All I could do was hope and dream to escape. I lost track of time; days became weeks, weeks became months, and months became years.

I found a chance to escape. I ran out of the lab through the gate, my heart pounding in my chest. The cold night air hit my face, a stark contrast to the sterile, suffocating environment of the lab. I didn't dare look back; I just kept running, my legs burning with the effort.

I ran as fast as I could until I reached a cliff. There was nowhere left to run. As I turned my head back, I saw the scientist and guards staring at me. The head scientist's eyes gleamed with a sinister delight, his laughter echoing through the night.

"715, where do you think you're going?" he sneered, a twisted grin spreading across his face. His voice was laced with a cruel amusement, as if my desperate attempt to escape was nothing more than a game to him.

I stepped back to the edge of the cliff, my mind racing for a way out. The drop was dizzying, the dark abyss below promising either freedom or death. My breath came in ragged gasps as I tried to steady myself.

"715, you dare run away from us after all we've done for you?" His voice dripped with mockery. "We gave you a home, a purpose. Come back, 715. We are your family, after all," he said, extending his hand, his eyes cold and calculating. The guards behind him stood ready, their expressions blank, as if they were mere extensions of his will.

"Go burn in hell," I spat, flipping him off and falling down the cliff. As I plummeted, the wind rushing past me, a sense of liberation washed over me. Only one thought came to mind: "I'm finally free from that hellhole. Even if I die, I'm finally free." Tears of relief streamed down my face, mingling with my first-ever smile
