The campus was massive.
As they moved through the school, clearing zombies and observing their surroundings, it became evident that the task was monumental.
By the end of an entire day, they had only cleared one-fifth of the area.
There wasn't a single living person in sight, and the school grounds were inescapable.
The game seemed confined to the school's map.
After a long day of clearing zombies, the two returned to the dormitory.
The routine repeated over the next few days.
During the monotonous process of zombie extermination, Yukino underwent a remarkable transformation.
Her courage and psychological resilience grew significantly.
She moved gracefully and decisively, shooting zombies without hesitation.
Even when zombie blood and brain matter splattered on her, she remained composed.
She was no longer the same Yukino who had been terrified to the point of losing control upon encountering the ghostly girl.
Finally, the seventh day arrived, marking the end of the game.
Throughout the seven days, Yukino found ways to repay Tatsuki for his help.
Although it didn't involve offering her body, it wasn't far from it—she helped him relax every night with massages.
Using Aikido techniques for massage?
Surprisingly, it was incredibly effective and comfortable.
Adding to the atmosphere, she wore the same short skirt after each bath, as she only had one set of clothes to wash and wear.
It was, to say the least, an unintended "bonus."
She even took care of fetching water and washing his clothes personally.
Her actions clearly showed her sincere desire to repay him.
As for the zombies, they killed tens of thousands.
The sheer number of zombies in the school was beyond comprehension, seemingly endless.
Tatsuki alone accumulated over 70,000 apocalypse points from the slaughter.
He used these points to significantly enhance his abilities.
[Human]: Tatsuki Hayashi
[Points]: 7,000
[Apocalypse Factors]: Cognitive Apocalypse (12 stars), Anomalous Apocalypse (12 stars), Uncertainty Apocalypse (12 stars)
[Abilities]:
B-Level: Physical Enhancement (lv3), Lightning Dharma Technique – Yin Lightning (lv3)
S-Level: Gemstone – Vector Manipulation (lv4)
10,000 points upgraded Physical Enhancement to level 3. His physique reached new heights, allowing him to punch through steel plates effortlessly. His speed also improved significantly.
60,000 points upgraded Vector Manipulation to level 4, placing it on par with an Advanced Esper from Academy City. However, being a Gemstone ability, its potential was inherently superior.
He also discovered that upgrading to level 5 would require 150,000 apocalypse points.
Now, only 7,000 points remained.
As for Yukino, she had killed over 3,000 zombies in total.
After deducting points spent on food and water each day, she had 3,000 survival points left.
[Zombie Campus Survival: 2 Survivors!]
[Congratulations on successfully surviving and clearing the game!]
[Automatic return in progress…]
Tatsuki and Yukino exchanged a glance, both letting out a sigh of relief.
It was finally time to leave.
Their figures vanished from the dormitory.
When Tatsuki came to his senses, he was already back in the clubroom.
Taking out his phone, he glanced at the time.
"!!!"
It was still the same class break!
No time had passed in the real world.
Despite spending seven days in the apocalypse game, the timeline here remained unchanged.
"The game space…"
Even time was affected—it wasn't something simple.
For a moment, he pondered deeply.
Yukino also returned to her senses.
Her first reaction upon seeing the classroom was to sharply draw her gun, her gaze alert and ready.
"Yukino, calm down. You're back now," Tatsuki said, gently pushing her gun down and placing his hands on her shoulders to guide her back into her chair.
Her response was a classic case of PTSD.
"We're back…"
Yukino quietly lowered her gun, her hands trembling slightly.
Tatsuki instinctively began massaging her temples, helping her relax.
Once she was fully calm, he spoke to her seriously.
"Yukino, what I'm about to tell you is important, so listen carefully."
"Alright."
"It's about the apocalypse…"
Tatsuki took his time explaining everything about the apocalyptic factors and the world's hidden dangers.
Yukino was initially shocked but soon accepted it.
After all, she had already been affected by an anomalous apocalypse herself.
"I understand. I'll keep this a secret!"
"I believe you. But for now, it's more important that you adjust your body and habits back to normal."
Yukino glanced down at her hands.
They looked as pale and delicate as ever, but she couldn't shake the feeling that they carried the weight of killing countless zombies.
The combat experience from the apocalypse game was etched into her body.
It was indeed something to be cautious about.
"Oh, that reminds me."
Yukino suddenly recalled something significant.
Raising her hand toward a cup of water on the desk, she focused.
A stream of white frost emanated from her palm, freezing the water solid in an instant!
"Oh? You've gained a superpower?"
Tatsuki's eyes widened in surprise, genuinely impressed.
Tatsuki hadn't expected Yukino to gain an ice-based superpower from the game.
Yukino offered a faint smile.
"At the end of the Apocalypse Game, it prompted me to use survival points to exchange for exclusive items or abilities."
"I spent all 3000 points on an ability called Ice Power, which lets me control ice."
Thinking it over, Tatsuki decided to test her new power.
He closed the classroom door and windows securely.
"Attack me," he instructed.
After several days of fighting together, Yukino had developed complete trust in Tatsuki.
Without hesitation, she launched an attack.
Her abilities caused no harm to Tatsuki, allowing him to evaluate them safely.
After a series of tests, Tatsuki came to a conclusion.
Yukino's ability was likely at level 2.
She could summon ice spikes and release cold air, but she couldn't yet freeze enemies solid or manipulate ice on a large scale.
Still, it was a decent start.
Ring, ring, ring!
The bell signaling the start of class rang.
Tatsuki and Yukino returned to their classroom together.
Before parting, Tatsuki made sure to give her a few reminders and exchange contact information.
At the stairwell, a figure stood, watching the two walk together with a puzzled expression.
"Tatsuki-kun… When did he and Yukinoshita-san become so close?"
