Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Potions

Almost an hour later, Kyrell can be seen sprawled on the ground while grasping for air. His whole body was filled with wounds, blood, and sweat.

One look was enough to make people shudder as it looks like the youth will die any moment from now.

In fact, Kyrell felt exactly like that. At this moment, he already deactivated the enhanced vision brought by Zero and the nanobots. His brain is not able to endure such overload of data anymore.

From having a 360-degree vision, Kyrell was reduced to the level of an old lady with a cataract. His vision was as blurry as it could be. If he were to place his hand in front of him, he knew that he could only see the blurry outline of his own hand.

His lungs felt like they were on fire as they badly craved oxygen to recover. The lack of oxygen even caused Kyrell to be muddleheaded for some time and only when enough time passed did he gradually recover a bit.

His body was still in pain and he have countless dagger wounds but although they looked scary on the outside, they were actually not that serious. They are just superficial wounds and would easily heal with some care.

Despite Fraser's impulsiveness, he was still not someone who would deliberately seriously hurt his own son whom he loved the most.

"Drink this healing potion"

At this point, Kyrell was too tired to even lift a finger. Even if he wanted to drink a healing potion, he was too powerless to do so.

Without a choice, Fraser uncapped the vial containing red liquid inside and helped his son drink it. As soon as the potion enters Kyrell's stomach, a burst of mana spreads out and starts healing his body. Even his physical strength was recovering faster than normal.

[Ding! Detecting a strange substance spreading to the host's body. Beginning analysis]

[10%... 20%... 50%... 80%... 99%... 100%]

[Ding! After analysis, it is found that the strange substance has the effects of removing fatigue, hemostasis, and aids in healing injuries]

[Currently, it is estimated that through normal digestion, the host's body can only absorb over 50% of the substance's efficacy. Does the host want to mobilize the nanobots to aid in digestion?]

[With the nanobots, it is estimated that the host will be able to absorb the substance effects at 99% efficiency and the digestion timeframe will also be shortened by more than 50%]

Kyrell was aware that when using potions, the user would not be able to absorb all of the potion's powers. There would be some that will be discarded without the body being able to utilize the potion at 100%

In fact, how much of a potion effect can a cultivator effectively absorb is also an indication of talent. The better the physique of the cultivator, the more they can absorb, saving a lot more resources.

For example, if a cultivator drinks a healing potion and they can only absorb 50% of its medicinal effects then they might need two vials of potion to recover.

Whereas a cultivator that can absorb 100% of the potion's effects would only need one potion.

At first, it might not look much but in the long journey of cultivation, how many potions would a cultivator take? The total accumulation would definitely be staggering.

Not to mention, cultivators developed drug resistance. There are potions that can only be used a few times or even just once before losing effect.

In such a scenario, a cultivator that can absorb more of the potion is way better compared to a cultivator that absorbs less.

As such, there was no need to think much and Kyrell soon gave his answer.

"Use the nanobots" he ordered and he was about to stand when he thought of something.

If the nanobots can help him digest a healing potion faster and better, would it be possible for the nanobots to do it in other resources... such as those that aid in cultivation?

Thinking of this, Kyrell's chest started moving heavily again. He felt like he just found a way to compensate for his lack of talent and it was worth a try.

"I originally planned on teaching the basic movement of the Soft Bone Sword Technique as well but seeing your state, it is better that you rest first"

"While pushing our bodies to the limits helped in the progress or our cultivation, too much push would also result in negative effects"

"Take a rest and we will continue tomorrow. I also had some servants deliver some resources for you. Don't use them sparingly, ask for more when you're done using them"

With a nod, Kyrell who was recovering faster than normal stood up. "Thank you, Father, I will do that" he said sincerely.

At this moment, a flash of surprise appeared in Fraser's eyes. He was actually about to call one of the Death Serpent Guards to help his son return to his bedroom. What he didn't expect is that his son can already stand on his own again.

While the healing potion certainly makes recovery faster, as a Minor Clan, the quality of potions that they can purchase is somewhat mediocre. The potion's quality was definitely not the best and normally, it wouldn't take this fast to recover.

"My son... he is a genius" Fraser mused. How can he not think this way?

First is Kyrell's combat skills which showcased his great ability to control mana along with his fighting skills that is able to adapt and learn at a fast speed. Now, it seems like he is also one of those who can absorb potions better than most cultivators.

If this is not a genius then what is?

——

"Zero, what is the probability of success for aiding my cultivation by using the nanobots to help me absorb and use cultivation resources?"

Along the way back to his room, Kyrell was not able to suppress himself and asked the A.I.

He was so engrossed in his thoughts that he was not able to greet the servants back like usual.

[The probability of success is over 99%]

[However, based on the cultivation knowledge stored in the database, there would still be other issues that the host will face that the nanobots currently are not able to help]

"Hmm then find a way to further enhance the nanobots. Use all the data available. This time, integrate cultivation knowledge when trying to improve the nanobots"

[Affirmative! Beginning simulations]

Soon, Kyrell arrived in front of his room where a servant was already waiting for him while holding what looks like a metal suitcase.

"Young Master, the Patriarch asked me to deliver your cultivation resources to you" the servant said respectfully and Kyrell nodded his head at him.

"Thank you" Kyrell replied kindly and he took the suitcase into his room. He can't wait to use them!

While inside, Kyrell opened the suitcase and saw three types of potion. One is red in color, one is dark blue, and the other is light blue.

The red potion was the same healing potion that Kyrell used earlier. It was nothing special, it is used to heal injuries and also has some stamina recovery effects. Of course, the effects were actually mediocre.

If not for the nanobots, Kyrell definitely still wouldn't have the energy to stand much less walk.

While a cultivator's body was superior to normal humans, the energy they used to fight was also higher. Hence, they also need more energy to recover.

For the second potion which was dark blue in color, it was a mana recovery potion that is also pretty self-explanatory. It aids the cultivator in recovering the mana that they used.

In training, even if it is just physical combat, cultivators still use mana. Although circulating mana inside the body to increase physical strength conserved mana compared to using Martial Skills, there was still mana consumption.

As such, if a cultivator wants to have more time in training, instead of just waiting for their mana to recover naturally, they are better off using mana recovery potions.

The red healing potion and the dark blue mana recovery potion are the most in numbers while the light blue potion's quantity was visibly fewer compared to the other two.

"Mana Essence Potion" Kyrell muttered the name of this potion that was significantly more expensive compared to the other two potions that are common in the market.

While the two common potions are for "recovery", the Mana Essence Potion is different. It aids one in cultivation in a direct manner!

Unlike cultivators at the Genetic Strengthener Realm that can absorb the free mana particles in the atmosphere, Genetic Awakener Realm cultivators are more pitiful.

They are just starting to sense and use mana. They do not have the ability to freely cultivate using the natural mana in their surroundings yet.

There are two ways for them to increase the amount of mana they have and progress in their cultivation.

One is constantly exhausting their body to the limits and the other one is by using a Mana Essence Potion.
