Night dawned, and the breeze rattled the windows as Vaughn walked through the hallways, exhausted and in need of rest. The blood moon would soon arrive, and the vampires needed blood for this aura day.
He traced his steps towards the stairs and finally got to the door of his room, inputting the code and entering his room. Something seemed different, as he hadn't scented the scent of the human. He walked towards the couch and searched the bathroom, but couldn't find her. A paper caught hold of his eye as he walked to it, lifting it, and saw a drawing of a woman with a faint drawing.
His mind flashed back to a memory, a faint night during the blood moon when he had sought blood, tearing off his skin. He arrived at a house, and two beings were seen at the house. He moved towards them, unable to control himself. He sank his fangs, drawing blood out of the two parents. They struggled to no avail. A noise was heard as a young girl holding a doll was seen. Her grey hair and blue eyes reflected as he snapped out of his past. "She is the one," he muttered, "How dare you," he muttered, his voice low and angry. He walked out of the room, lost in thought. "It was my fault. If I hadn't left her alone..." He sat down next to her, his eyes fixed on her pale face.
The morning was quick to set in, and Layla opened her eyes to find her body numb. She looked beside her and saw Vaughn sleeping, his face peaceful. Could it be that he had come for her? She looked at him, her body aching, and saw the strings connected to her hand. She gasped as Vaughn got up, holding her. "Are you okay?" he asked, his voice soft. She nodded slightly, unable to talk. Vaughn carried her body slightly, making her lean her back on the bed. He got up and went out, carrying a tray of food with vegetables. A few minutes later, he returned, and Layla's eyes widened as she saw the food. She was expecting to be shouted at for leaving without his permission, but now he was taking care of her. He sat on the bed, placing the food on his lap. He took a spoon and placed it on Layla's lips, and she opened her mouth, swallowing the food. She chewed slightly, and some minutes later, the food was finished. She could move her body now."Thanks," she muttered, her voice weak.Vaughn didn't reply but placed the empty plate on the desk. He disconnected the strings and carried her to the bathroom, placing her on the tub. His hands trailed to her gown as he began unbuttoning the shirt. Layla's hand moved up, stopping him.Vaughn looked at the human, his eyes questioning. "Would you prefer being this way?" he asked, his voice low.Layla removed her hands, knowing he was her master and he owned her. Vaughn resumed unbuttoning the gown, taking it off. Her bra was left unhooked, and her breasts were now bare, leaving her in only her undies. He poured warm water, taking a towel to wipe the blood stain on her neck and body. He wiped her back and body clean, then took out a new piece of cloth and wore it on her.Layla gazed at Vaughn, embarrassed. This was the first time her body was being exposed. She felt a flush rise to her cheeks as he dressed her.He was done, and he carried her back to the bedroom. He laid her on the couch and went on with changing the stained sheets. Layla looked at Vaughn, maybe vampires weren't as bad as she thought. She was slowly falling for her master. staggering back as the drawing fell from his hands. "I need to find her."He stepped out of the room, searching every zone and corner, but he hadn't marked her and couldn't scent her. Vaughn looked and saw a slave carrying a tray of blood tanks. He suspected something was wrong and also suspected his brother Draven was involved. It was rare to see a slave carrying a blood tank, only when pets ran out of blood.
He stopped the slave, asking, "Who requested blood?"
The slave shivered alongside the tray as he muttered, "Master Draven."
Vaughn walked past the slave, running towards his brother's room. "If anything happens to Layla, I won't spare you," he whispered to himself. He appeared at the door, pushing it open. Draven looked towards the door, hearing a noise, and his eyes caught hold of the figure he wasn't expecting. A punch landed on his face and another one.
"Where is Layla?" Vaughn roared. Draven wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth as he smiled. Vaughn's eyes caught hold of the figure on the bed as he ran to see her condition. He walked towards Draven, throwing another punch. "What did you do to her?" he shouted. Draven pushed him forward, dodging his punch. "I've never seen you care so much about someone before," he said. Vaughn launched another punch, and Draven dodged it. "If you hadn't left her hungry," Draven shouted. Vaughn stopped his movements, staying put. "Is that the reason she left? That didn't matter. What matters is her life." he threatened "If she dies, I won't spare you, Draven."He removed the strings as he carried her body, drenched with blood, out of the room. Draven stared at his brother and then at his bed, soaked with blood. He ordered blood tanks as he hurriedly carried her to his room. He laid her on his bed, collecting the blood tank from the slave. He connected the strings as he lay next to her. "You must survive," he said, looking at her and cupping her face, which now looked pale. The mark on her neck took his attention. "He bit her." He clenched his fist, standing up. "How dare you," he muttered, his voice low and angry. He walked out of the room, lost in thought. "It was my fault. If I hadn't left her alone..." He sat down next to her, his eyes fixed on her pale face.
