Chapter 8 - A Day Outside

Chapter 8: A Day Beyond Training

Yesterday was something else. My current prowess is far beyond what I ever thought was achievable. But in this world, I made it possible. Despite training my mana arts for seven hours straight, I didn't feel even a speck of tiredness within me. In fact, it's the opposite—my body seemed almost pleased, as though it was finally able to release the enormous energy stored inside.

However, training endlessly isn't my goal. My new life should be more than that. My previous life taught me one thing: spending all your time doing a single thing isn't fulfilling. I died before I even realized it, my life passing in a monotonous blur. This time, I want to enjoy every moment. I want to explore this world properly, experience what it has to offer, and meet new people—even those of different species. That shouldn't be too hard.

On my way out of the estate, I passed by a group of maids. Although calling them maids might be an understatement; they're more like warrior maids, each one a trained elite killer.

"Hey, can you let my mom know that I'm heading out for a bit?" I asked one of them. She was part of my mother's entourage, so I knew she'd deliver the message.

"It would be my pleasure, young lord," she replied with a slight bow.

As they walked away, I caught them murmuring to each other, clearly thinking I couldn't hear them. Unfortunately for them, I could hear everything perfectly.

"Kyaa! Did you see how he looked at me? I think he liked me!" one of them said excitedly.

"Oh, please, we all know if he ever liked any of us, it would be me," another responded. "I mean, did you know men love mommy milkers?"

"Wait, really? If that's true, I'll treat you to one of Daisy's Delight premium cakes."

"It's true, and yeah, I'd like that. I heard their premium cakes are pretty good."

Okay, I think I might have underestimated my charm. Well, constant evolution millions of times over is bound to make me quite irresistible, I suppose. Can't blame them. Now that I think about it, I'm basically 4'8" at almost seven years old. That's definitely abnormal, but then again, so is everything about me.

With that out of the way, I headed to the garage where my car was waiting. Oh, right—this world's cars are something else entirely.

The vehicle was a masterpiece of magitek engineering. It had features that seemed light-years ahead of Earth's technology: an automatic temperature manager, fully motionless chairs with massage options that felt divine, a frame and tires made of ultra-durable materials with auto-repair functions, and a Mk5 12th Gen Mana Barrier system.

And that's just scratching the surface. This car had countless features that made it not only convenient but luxurious to the point of being godly. It ran entirely on complex runes and mana cores, making it completely sustainable. No fossil fuels, no toxic waste—just pure, clean energy.

This world's advancements in magitek are astounding, and my family is at the forefront of it all. Honestly, I've got to start learning magitek and rune magic soon. I've heard its applications are far broader than just elemental control. The possibilities are truly limitless.

As I stepped into the car, the mana barrier shimmered faintly before letting me in. The doors closed automatically, and the seat adjusted to fit me perfectly.

"Destination, young lord?" the car's voice assistant asked.

"Let's go to the city outskirts. I feel like exploring," I replied.

The car started moving without a sound, gliding smoothly along the estate's private roads before merging onto the city's main highways. The experience was surreal. Unlike the noisy, pollution-filled cities of Earth, this place was vibrant yet clean, bustling with life but not overwhelming.

Tall spires made of crystal-like materials reached toward the sky, their surfaces shimmering with runic patterns that pulsed with mana. Hovering carriages and other magitek vehicles moved seamlessly through the air, guided by invisible pathways created by mana-infused infrastructure.

The people were just as fascinating. Humans, elves, beastfolk, and even more exotic species walked the streets, their appearances diverse yet harmonious. It was like something out of a high-fantasy dream.

The car gently stopped at the city's edge, where a sprawling open area stretched before me. The outskirts were dotted with markets, training grounds, and even small magical academies. The perfect place to explore.

As I stepped out, the fresh air hit me. It wasn't just clean—it was invigorating, charged with ambient mana that seemed to resonate with my body.

I wandered through the market first, marveling at the variety of goods being sold. There were fruits and vegetables that glowed faintly, likely infused with mana for enhanced taste or nutrition. Weapons and armor made of rare materials were displayed proudly, each one etched with runes that promised extraordinary effects.

"Kid, you lost?" a gruff voice called out.

I turned to see a burly beastfolk merchant eyeing me curiously. He had the features of a lion—golden fur, sharp fangs, and a mane that looked like it was on fire.

"Not lost, just exploring," I replied calmly, meeting his gaze without flinching.

"Hah! Brave for someone your size," he said, grinning. "You've got the look of someone important. Don't go wandering into trouble, kid."

I gave him a nod before continuing my stroll.

Eventually, I reached one of the training grounds. It was bustling with activity as mages, warriors, and even hybrids practiced their arts. I couldn't resist.

"Hey, mind if I join in?" I asked one of the instructors.

He was a tall elf with a stern expression, his silver hair tied back neatly. He looked me over, raising an eyebrow.

"Do you have permission?" he asked.

I held up my family crest, and his demeanor changed instantly.

"My apologies, young lord. You're welcome to join," he said, stepping aside.

I walked onto the field, drawing the attention of everyone there. Ignoring their curious stares, I raised a hand and summoned a sphere of pure mana. It was the same technique I'd practiced the day before, but I wanted to push it further.

The sphere grew in size, radiating a light so intense it cast shadows even in broad daylight. With a flick of my wrist, I hurled it at one of the training dummies.

BOOM!

The explosion was immense, far larger than I'd expected. The dummy was obliterated, and the ground beneath it was scorched.

"Whoa…" someone muttered.

I wasn't done yet. I conjured a series of elemental lances—fire, ice, lightning, and earth—and launched them simultaneously at different targets. Each one hit with pinpoint accuracy, causing explosions, freezing bursts, and cracks in the ground.

The murmurs grew louder.

"Who is this kid?"

"Is he really only seven?"

I finished with a massive spell, combining all the elements into a single, swirling vortex. It tore through the remaining targets, leaving nothing but debris in its wake.

The field fell silent, save for the crackling of residual flames and the sound of ice melting.

"Well, that was fun," I said with a grin, turning to leave.

As I walked away, I could feel their eyes on me. Some were filled with awe, others with envy or curiosity. It didn't matter.

I wasn't here to impress anyone. I was here to live.
