Chapter 1 - Life's a Mess [1]

A young looking male waited for the bus, having ear phones in listening to the his latest hyperfixtation. He normally listens to music or audiobooks as it helps him focus better while working. All thanks to his dyslexic brain.

His dark brown hair swayed in the wind a tad bit, his hands in the pockets of his winter jacket, shivering a bit from the winter cold.

"Annalise ponders as she held her documents, having to chose between Tristan or Eugene..." The female voice from his ear phones continues on.

Once the bus arrives, he got in after paying the toll. Closing his eyes for the time being, he zones out, since he has head this book for the 20th time this month. His thoughts always go back to his parents who basically abandoned him, the resaon being that a random girl blamed him for SA.

He had no recollection of who the girl was, just that his sister stated her friend yet she has a large social group of friends, consisting of 20. He tried telling the truth yet went death ears, later, his whole school found out and began to avoid him, leading him expulsion.

Shortly thereafter, his 'family' threw him out as he was 'staining' their name. He couldn't even stay at a relatives or friends place, being outcasted by the whole town.

He had no choice but to move farther away, away the area he lived. Moved into the city, starting different jobs just to make a living.

By the time he knew it, it had been 10 years since, he had changed his number, removed himself from social media, everything to get away from the previous life.

He opened his eyes as he felt the bus stop as his block, getting off immediately, he walked over to his apartment complex, seeing familiar figures.

He frozen in place, his eyes darkened from the person. Having no choice but to walk over, he wanted to walk past but the person grabbed his arm.

"Silas!"

His mother called out. He stopped as he looked back, his face completely void of emotion. Staring at him was his parents.

"What? Came to ruin my life again?"

He stated, his voice in a venomous tone. His parents had flinched before his mother spoke.

"We're sorry that we didn't believe you! Emily told his the truth just 2 years ago, she was about to be married when during the bridal shower that she told the truth."

His mother explained.

"We have been texting you online, but you hadn't responded. We had to actively search for you."

His father added, although he didn't sound apologetic like his wife.

Silas stood there in shock, though his face didn't show it.

"So, it took you guys 8 years to finally realize the bitch had been lying? I didn't even know her name, much less her existence. I've been far to busy with my studies and extracurricular activities to mess around with girls. I wanted a full scholarship for college, yet that had been taken just because a female who i don't know suddenly stated i raped her. Also im more interested in mature women and not little girls."

Silas responded with an icy tone, obviously pissed.

"And it took her a few hours worth of getting completely drunk to spill the truth of her scheming to ruin my life? Even Elizabeth knew that bitch's plan and she was in on it, all because the bitch had a boyfriend and they wanted to pin the sexual intercourse of them on me. Elizabeth helped her. I heard it all while passing her room, and none of you believed me because 'Elizabeth can do no wrong' mindset."

Silas showed anger before jerking his arm from his mothers grip.

"Just leave, don't bother trying to build the bridge. You all destroyed it the moment you fully believed in the lie."

He glared dangerously before turning back, unlocking the door, closing it behind so they couldn't come in, and headed to his floor and apartment.

Once in his apartment, he collapsed onto the bed. It was a studio apartment as he was only one person with a cat.

His cat, ChooChooBear, casually strolled up and onto his stomach, beginning to kneed. Silas already had taken an ear phone out, hearing his cat purring loudly. ChooChooBear being a mixed breed, ragdoll prominently, with her fur being in a shape of a train engine but the color of a brown and black bears with her blue eyes.

"Im home, choochoobear."

He warliy smiles as he pets her lovingly. His cat has practically his baby, she has been there since 6 years ago once he was stable enough to feed himself and a animal.

Silas showed more emotions to his own cat than anyone else in his small circle, mainly coworkers. He sighed heavily as he began to get tired, not wanting to sleep right away, he got up.

Getting showered, feeding himself a meal, fixing Choochoobear her special meal as she is a picky eater, then collapsing back on his bed with a yawn.

Plugging in his phone, he glanced at his book, "Fractured Loyalties". His female coworker introduced him to it, as romance novels were his guilty pleasure, considering the fact that most were just about billionaire life. Though definitely has a fair share with the male side as well.

Choochoobear snuggled up to him, and laid down. Silas cuddled her as he drifted off to sleep.

An alarm went off as Silas started to wake up, he felt around the bed as he didn't feel his ragdoll cat. She normally stays at his side unless needing to use the washroom.

The alarm continued going before he finally found the source, turning it off. He tiredly rubbed his eyes as he felt exhausted, noticing that his hand was small. He sat straight up onto his knees as he was on his stomach.

He looked around seeing that this wasn't his $985 studio apartment with his choochoobear. The room he was in was big and fancy, fit for a teenage yet styled for a toddler. He paincked as he noticed three doors, two which were a single door and the other being a duel door.

He went to the first single door, being greeted with a large walk-in closet with clothes ranging in a rich 10-12 year old. He closed it, going over to the other.

The other door was a master bathroom. Silas immediately went to the mirror.

Instead his dark brown hair, pale as snow skin with a few blemishes and acnes, milky brown eyes with dark heavy bags, and the height of 5'10".

He had golden brown hair, radiant fair skin with zero blemishes and acne, big doe amethyst eyes, and a height of 5'1". Looking more like a young boy in grade school.

He wanted to scream but was unable to do so, though he almost fell to his knees in complete shock, catching himself on the counter. He then heard a knock.

"Young master Darcy, are you awake? It is time for breakfast with the madam and master."

An elderly voice called out. Silas flinched at the name, Darcy Kane, the older brother to Eugene Kane, the main villain of Fractured Loyalties. He felt his blood run cold, his fair skin went white as a sheet.

Darcy was the favourite child of the Kane brothers, Eugene was the mistake. Their mother, Cynthia Kane, wanted a girl yet got a boy instead as her second child. She already had a difficulty labour with Darcy, after she recovered, wanted a daughter.

Eugene was a premature baby, 7 months when Cynthia had a labour, almost miscarried. Yet was highly disappointed, she never cared for Eugene, and he was taken care of by the maids.

Darcy was older by 5 years, but showed distain by the effects of his mother's favouritism a year early.

Ever since then, when Darcy does something bad, Eugene takes the blame. Lasting up to Darcy's 20th birthday, getting kidnap, tortured for a week straight, before being killed off by his own brother.

Silas unable to compose himself, felt the weight of the world go light and fell unconscious with a thud.

He woke up with a stinging feeling to his head and a ringing in his ears. He foucsed to the ceiling, realizing it seems quite like the cathedral paintings from churches or the historical homes.

His body felt extremely hot, turning to his side to see a unfamiliar familiar figure.

"Ah! My baby!"

The woman worriedly stated. Her long blonde hair fell forwarf from tucked behind her ear and shoulder, a more porcelain fair skin, and ocean blue eyes. This woman is Darcy's and Eugene's mother, Cynthia.

"You suddenly feel ill this morning, the doctor said you got a fever. Are you alright sweatheat?"

Her voice was sickly sweet, yet mature. Motherly at best, similarly to his own biological mother. He still couldn't comprehend what is happening, opening his mouth to speak but unable to as he felt like throwing up.

He immediately covered his month before a bucket was below him, an elderly hand yet young held it out. He threw up.

After finishing, he collapsed while panting heavily, feeling completely dizzy.

"Madam, I believe the young master should stay home until he feels better."

The other person in the room, most likely an elderly man, stated.

"Young master, please sit up, you need to drink some medicine."

The elderly mentioned making Silas move to a comfortable position, knowing full well it is needed. In a minute, a syringe entered his mouth a bubblegum flavor medicine was swallowed down.

'Ah right, this is set in the year 2100's, 70 or something years in the future. Still on the modern side but technology in many areas advanced even more.'

Silas thought as he felt tired.

"Mommy is here Dar, it's ok. Sleep now."

Cynthia soothingly said as Silas drifting off to sleep.

'Still want Choochoobear...'

Was his last thoughts as he fell back to sleep.

-

What felt like an eternity, Silas jolted awake, unable to remember much from the last few days of high fever. He stared at the ceiling, the painting seemingly calming him.

He sat up after a bit, although he was still on the dizzy side, his fever reduced to a more common cold. He felt sticky to the bone, from lying in bed.

"Young master, feeling better now?"

The familiar elderly voice asked, making Silas look over. He was correct. An elderly man, presumably in his 60's, stood at the bed side. Having more grey and white hairs to his black hair, a young yet elderly look with wrinkles, fair skinned and wearing what a butler would wear.

"...Where am i?"

"The Kane Household, within the White County district, in A City."

The butler replied immediately.

"..My name?"

"Darcy Alexander Kane, Son of Victor and Cynthia Kane."

Silas was surprised at the man response.

"Age?"

"You are currently 10 young master. Grade 5 at Maple Ridge Elementary."

Silas blinks a bit.

"You?"

"I am the head butler of the Kane Household, Isaiah Mccarthy. Has your head cleared up bit?"

Isaiah asked after answering, silas just nodded a bit.

"It is quite understandable to have a foggy memory after have such high fever. I'll make sure the madam and master knows."

Isaiah reported as he suddenly turned his body to the left of him, a cart with a tray of breakfast. He placed it onto the bed carefully.

"Eat up young master, Ring the bell when you finish, a maid will get this cleared up."

He stated before leaving the room, doing a bow as he closed the door behind him.

Silas sighed deeply.
