As Alden looked at the new system message, his heart thumped with excitement and anticipation.
He didn't know what the ability was supposed to be, but he was just another reader with protagonist syndrome. And the name Supreme Ability just sounded that cool.
Every reader, at some point in their life, imagines themselves as an antihero or a cool protagonist, and Alden was no different. Awakening something that was not mentioned in the novel and which even the protagonist didn't have felt exciting to him.
But just as he was lost in his thoughts, he felt immense pain. The pain was similar to what he had felt when he inherited the Eclipse Codex but on a much larger level.
But Alden had long since grown numb to this kind of pain, so it didn't bother him much. But that didn't make the pain any more bearable.
