I have been very busy lately due to my classes but I still makes sure to go to the library every day.
'Why, you ask?' Because even I don't know everything about this world, so I am reading books to get some general understanding,
'But that is not the whole reason for going to the library.' My lips curled up as I thought about something.
The Draven family is so powerful because of their mastery and control over the shadow element.
But in the long-lost history, they used to be known for their mastery over the Eclipse Element. That knowledge was lost in the pages of history, and in today's time, nobody knows about it—not even the Draven family themselves. They lost all knowledge of Eclipse magic, even its existence, due to some incidents in the past.
In the later part of the novel, it was shown that Seles found a secret mana tome, The Eclipse Codex, hidden as an ordinary book in the library, left by the founder of the family.
But not much was shown about it, as she couldn't inherit it due to some unknown reasons, which were not explained well in the novel.
So, for the last few days, I have been coming to the library daily just to find the Eclipse Codex. I don't know if I will be able to inherit it, but it's well worth the try.
But I don't have time anymore because the awakening ceremony is drawing closer, and I have to find and inherit the Eclipse Codex before my awakening ceremony.
Because In this world at the time of awakening a person can rarely awaken a special abilitiy related to any random element but if you attune your mana vessel to a High ranking tome it could increase the chances to awaken ability related to the element of tome.
It's not like the family is going to assign me the Noctus Grimoire, the shadow element tome used by the family before the awakening ceremony, although they might give me some other low-quality tome after awakening.
'There are six ranks of tomes as far as I remember. They are: Common, Rare, Elite, Mythic, Ancient, and Primordial.'
The Noctus Grimoire is Ancient rank, whereas the Eclipse Codex is a Primordial rank Tome. Only tomes above Mythic rank could increase the chances of awakening a special ability.
So, I have to find it before the awakening ceremony and attune my body to it to increase my chance of awakening a special ability.
Lost in thought, Alden arrived at the library. There was no one in the library except the librarian, as no one was allowed in without permission, except some important people, including family heirs.
But not me, because I had to get permission to enter the library since I was not considered a legitimate heir, according to them. Thankfully, they allowed me to enter until the awakening ceremony. I can use the library as much as I want until then.
I have been coming here every day for the last few days, ever since I've been assigned mentors, and with only a month left for the awakening, I have to find the Eclipse Codex as soon as possible.
As soon as Alden entered, I saw a beautiful woman who looked no older than 20 years, sitting behind the counter. She had white hair and blue eyes as deep as the ocean. Her eyes seem to see through his soul.
I knew her she was the librarian, and her name was Ellara. Although I didn't know much about her, I am sure she is an important person in the family. Sometimes, when high-ranking members came, they treated her with the utmost respect.
I greeted the librarian respectfully and went over to a secluded corner of the library, as this was the only shelf which I hadn't checked yet.

Elira's Pov
' He's here again ' Ellara watched as Alden greeted her.
She knew who he was Alden Draven, a stain on the Draven family and, according to most people, an illegitimate son.
On the first day, she had ignored him as just another ordinary person trying to prove his worth to family.
She didn't know why but something about him made her curious. It was as if she was sensing something familiar from him...
Giving in to curiosity she decided to use her innate ability today, the spirit's eyes, to look deep inside his soul.
"How can that be?" What she saw took her by surprise.
Most people had souls with different colors, each reflecting their affinities and nature. But Alden... His soul was a mix of darkness and light, hiding her nature deep beneath where even she couldn't see it.
'Is this real?' her eyes widened in surprise 'How can such contradicting elements exist together?' Her gaze sharpened as she focused harder.
Normally, the darkness or light in a soul reflected a person's affinity in either shadow or light, but Alden's soul was a mix of both something.
'Could it be...' she thought as she recalled a memory. 'It's the eclipse. He has an immense affinity for eclipse...'
She had only seen one other person with such an overwhelming affinity for the eclipse element the founder of the Draven family, her contractor.
Before he left this world, he had entrusted her, with the task of guarding the Eclipse Codex , and she been gaurding it ever since.
She has watched over it as a Librarian for many years. She had seen the rule of many patriarchs. But still, she was unable to reveal its existence to anyone... she was helpless, unable to help unless they found it themselves as she was bound by spirit contract to not reveal anything about it.
Her thoughts were filled with uncertainty, 'Could it be him?'
Suddenly, a loud voice snapped her out of her thoughts, pulling her from her thoughts. She looked around only to see Alden buried under a pile of books that had fallen from the shelves.
'Hmm... isn't that...?' Her gaze narrowed as she saw a familiar book among the mess of fallen books. 'Isn't it? '
Her heart raced as she watched Alden try to get out of the pile of books, still oblivious to the significance of what had just occurred.
'It seems the book has finally chosen its successor.'
Ellara thought with slightly red eyes 'If it's truly him...' she spoke in a quiet voice, her voice breaking 'Maybe I can...maybe I can finally be free.'
