"We could have come into the school to dish this out, but we waited. What do you think? I just want to talk with you," Boyas said.
This time, he had to give it a trial. He had to set aside Donald issue to settle this one. Who knows, this guys might be responsible for his kidnap? Boyas interrupted his thought.
"You can come with your friend again," he pointed to Bret behind him.
Dick was surprised.
They arrived at the place where they had met before, the abandoned house. At the top was a large hall. This one was of the same size with the one in his school. There were many students there and they had been waiting for his arrival. As soon as he entered, he looked around to have a quick glance on them. He knew a few of them.
"Why are my here?" He said impatiently.
A large seat came to the fore and another was presented beside it. Boyas stepped forward and sat on the first which was the bigger but no one was on the second. Everyone lowered his head for him.
Dick could not understand why they should accord him do much respect. He didn't see any big deal in him. Bret had started showing his character of timidity. There was no way he could make him strong now. He directed his gaze to Boyas.
"I have been looking for a man who would sit by my right hand," he turned to the empty seat. "When I was in dire need I met you. I've searched everywhere in your school, nobody fits."
Now, Dick's doubt about the identity of Boyas was cleared. He was not a student but had passed through the same school. At the betting site, he had hired the uniform he used because there was plan to assist Sagas at all cost.
"I want to give you an offer, defeat everyone of my captains and take the position. I can see you have the fire," Boyas declared.
"Is this guy crazy?" Dick thought.
Twenty young guys came forward. Each of them were leaders of their units. These guys had twenty boys under them whom they controlled. They didn't just become a captain, they worked hard to get there. They looked extremely aggressive. None was ready to lose his place for a stranger and the next to Boyas was an enviable position. This was going to be a fight beyond student level, it's about the weight someone carried in the society.
But for Dick, he felt it ridiculous that Boyas could offer him a fight, setting him up against his wish. He was not going to take his offer either.
At that time, one of the contenders showed up before him with a glistering fighting stick in his hand.
"I'm ready for you, let's roll it out," the guy challenged him.
Dick still didn't respond to him. He was still boiling as he aimed to Boyas who watched like a king.
"Who are you to order me around? I don't take order from anyone," he said.
"Dick," said Sagas. He had known his name now.
"You should take care what you say. You are talking to our own master." Sagas had protested.
The contender strucked. He hit him from behind but as soon as his stick touched his shoulder, he was flown into the waiting hands of the crowd. He had been kicked by Dick when he didn't look back. The attacker was fierce and unexpected.
"I am not interested in your offer, tell your boys to open this damn door," Dick ordered in fury.
The environment took a new look. They had not seen someone as stubborn as this before.
The second captain approached him. He grabbed on a nearby metal. He aimed to hit Dick on the shoulder but not fast enough, the metal missed him. But as if he knew that Dick would dodge, he didn't waste time to return to his stand.
He had a quick thought on what to do next and how to go about it because he was not ready to miscalculate again. Somehow, he felt he should take a quick one by throwing his metal at him and followed it with a kick. By his plan, while Dick was looking at the metal he threw, his kick would get to his chest.
Sure this would work, he made his throw. Dick only took a step by stepping aside so that when he arrived, he was only kicking into empty space. Dick gave him a punch on the back of his head and he fell to the ground. He didn't move again.
On witnessing the unexpected, the third and fourth came together, not minding the rule of the match. One wielded a stone which rotated above his head and the other was a fist combatant. The stone wielder sent out a pebble which located the upper part of his opponents but the effect was not serious. There was divided attention for him as he had to keep both ends strong. Dick had to think how to deal with this issue because he didn't want them to gain access to Bret.
Bret started to go away from him to avoid hurt, Dick followed. Dick was pleased because that movement had made the stone wielder unable to really made more throws. When he discovered that Dick was more interested in defending than the real fight, he turned his back to follow Bret but Dick's punch had its way at his lower abdomen. The attack crippled him.
The fourth, when he saw what had happened changed his style. He stretched forth his hand and a ball of fire came out.
"Fire," exclaimed Bret.
There should be no such use here. We're talking about martial skills, hand combat and physical strength but someone just introduced magical prowess. Though he wasn't expecting it, he however avoided it.
The thin film appeared before him.
"Ant eye," he heard from the film.
"What does that mean," he asked.
"You're supposed to tell me his status or something reasonable."
The film went off. He had to find out what Ant-eye could mean. The contender approached again and he was going to use his ability skill again. If Dick didn't do something about him, it could result in the opponent gaining more ground. Before he let out another fireball, Dick leaped at him and held his mouth together mistakenly inserting his finger. He was bitten mercilessly.
Having seen him in pain, the fourth leader was pleased. He rushed at him still trying to get hold of Dick but he covered his eyes. He held to the eyes and cried out for help. Dick didn't understand what was happening for he knew he didn't touch his eyes but everyone thought he thrusted his finger into his eyes. But the fourth captain didn't say anything either that could implicate Dick.
When the thin film was displayed, Dick's eyes was empowered to shoot out poisonous objects. It was this that affected the fourth captain when he had eye contact with Dick.
The remaining captains were stricken with fear and none could charge forward. Even Boyas was on his feet at this dumbfounding turn of event. The first three fights were convincing but the way he defeated the fourth called for attention. Boyas walked to him.
"You are a good fighter, Dick. But it's not over yet."
He felt he had heard that statement before. Oh, Jemma said so when she was running after the thief.
Something just crossed his mind. That thief might be among the boys of Boyas. In fact, he had stolen from him too and he felt that was ungrateful for the guy who rescued him when he was frozened. Then he was annoyed with Harper, now he was happy for the deed. He wished he could have the same ability and he would freeze him.
Dick had refused to engage anyone in combat until the first captain attacked him. He had put them in their places and none could risk being a victim. He left with Bret before him.
"I told you to teach me how to fight," Bret reapplied.
All in his mind was to find out who was behind the kidnap of Ms Caul's son. For him, that work was not from Boyas and that was against what he thought before. If he was responsible, he would have mentioned it. There could be someone else. He had to get home and change into mofti.
That day's night, he was back to the front of the school.
Dick had thought through the whole thing but not able to figure out anyway to this. The light at the front was not so bright. The silhouette of the security man was standing tall as he went up and down. The school exhumed some beauty with these decorations of flowers. The shape was designed to fit scholars. Really, the look of what he had before him was quite different from what he used to have during the day.
