A day had successfully passed. Daniel wallowed on the ground with his lizard body.
One thing he would see after this day was boredom. There wasn't even a phone or anything to play with, and as for the system spirit, it was nothing but a disturbance.
All he did was sleep when the boredom became too much. Why the hell didn't the authors mention anything about boredom? He cursed silently.
He thought of going out of the cave, but the system told him to prepare a coffin before doing so.
He was confused at first, until the system said that if he went out, he should be ready to die at any moment.
Now, one would see a black lizard standing up like a human, with a human-like expression. The system spirit was beside it.
Daniel had been learning how to stand for the entire day, and it took him one hour to succeed.
"Don't you know that I am a once-in-a-millennium-era genius?" Daniel said with pride. The system spirit rolled his eyes. It was unclear whether it was a millennium or an era, but Daniel was claiming to be the only genius that appeared in a millennium era. It wasn't even certain if the universe was created at that time.
How narcissistic!
"What are you doing?" the system spirit asked, confused as to why Daniel was trying to learn to stand on his two feet in his lizard form.
Daniel grinned. "Just watch."
Daniel stood with his weight flat on his left lizard foot, then lifted the heel of his right lizard foot. He transferred his weight onto the ball of his right foot and began to slide backward, starting with his left lizard foot.
Anyone who recognized this method would know this dance: the Moonwalk.
"Oh yeah!!" Daniel said as he did this. His movements were fluent and in sync, very perfect.
But one thing made it funny—it was a black lizard doing the Moonwalk.
The system spirit clutched his stomach, laughing out loud. One should imagine a lizard doing the Moonwalk—how hilarious it would be.
Daniel didn't stop there. He performed all the dance moves he knew, while the system spirit watched, laughing until tears streamed down.
Daniel didn't mind the system's reaction. During his time on Earth, he hadn't had the opportunity to do this, as his movements were stiff, and he never got it right.
But now, his movements were fluent, and he found himself enjoying it. The only problem was that he was f*cking in a lizard body.
Since it was only the system spirit watching, he had no qualms about dancing in this body, as he wasn't performing in front of a crowd.
After spending some time on this, Daniel took a deep breath. Suddenly.
**GURGLE! GURGLE!**
He could hear his stomach screaming and grumbling from hunger. He sighed. It seemed he had no option but to go out and hunt.
Daniel slowly stood up and took one last long look at the cave. It was time to experience the mundanity of this world and spread his name.
Daniel thought with confidence.
Daniel was surprised. He followed the system's instructions and was shocked that he didn't spend much time outside the cave.
But something else shocked Daniel—he found himself already in the midst of water, at the bottom of an unknown pond, sea, or river.
Without wasting much time, he began to swim with his lizard body, trying to reach the surface.
He quickly swam out. "I was almost close to drowning," Daniel said, using his claw to wipe his sweat after getting out of the water.
He wasn't a good swimmer, and with this lizard body, he thought it would be hard to swim. But luckily, he found it surprisingly easy.
When he got out, he looked back into the water and was surprised he couldn't see the bottom of the large pond. Only his lizard head and body were reflected on the surface.
If Daniel hadn't swum out of the place, he might have suspected he was in the wrong location.
"Oh, system spirit, do you have any explanation for this?" Daniel's quick-wittedness kicked in. In the novels he read, systems were omnipotent, having access to all knowledge about the universe or world.
The system spirit appeared beside Daniel with a snort. "Hmph, this large pond is meant to protect you from being discovered until you are strong enough. But this doesn't mean people won't notice something unusual, especially the strong ones. If your luck is bad, you might attract one," the system spirit harrumphed.
When Daniel heard this, he felt speechless. How was he supposed to know if he had good luck or misfortune? Shouldn't he be asking the system about this?
He was in no mood to argue with the system. "If someone accidentally enters the pond, wouldn't the cave get exposed?" he snorted.
"Hmph, do you think it's an ordinary cave? It's hidden from the eyes of men and can't be seen," the system spirit explained.
Daniel felt happy about this. This would be his hideout. If he stole a valuable treasure from a strong cultivator, he could just hide here.
It was as if the system knew what he was thinking. "Then how sure are you that, in your weak form, you would escape the strong ones?"
Daniel scratched his head as this realization hit him. He chuckled and finally began to survey his surroundings.
"Oh heavens," Daniel cried out loud.
He could see tall trees, and even the roots of the trees were currently taller than him. Even though he had read about such things in novels, it was only when he saw it with his own eyes that he realized how monstrous it was.
He noticed that the pond seemed ostracized, as no trees grew near it. As he thought of this, his stomach grumbled again, making him feel helpless and a bit embarrassed, especially when he saw the system spirit laughing at him.
He snorted. "It's time to begin my journey."
