Chapter 6 - Celebration

The sun had long since dipped below the horizon, casting a warm orange glow over the grand estate. The air was alive with the sound of laughter and music, as visitors continued to arrive at the celebration. Master Khalid, a tall, imposing figure with a kind face, stood at the entrance, welcoming each guest in person. His broad smile and warm demeanor put everyone at ease, and the guests couldn't help but feel a sense of reverence for the respected leader.

Asa's homecoming was a grand affair, and it seemed that the entire tribe had turned out to celebrate. The respect Master Khalid held in the tribe was palpable, and Asa's status as his adoptive daughter only added to the significance of the occasion.

Madam Farheen joined Master Khalid at the entrance of the hall, her face beaming with a warm smile as she assisted him in greeting the visitors. "Have you met her?" Master Khalid asked, his eyes twinkling with curiosity.

"Yes, I have," Madam Farheen replied, her voice full of happiness. "She looks quite lovely."

Master Khalid's face lit up with a proud smile. "I'm glad you think so," he said, his eyes crinkling at the corners.

As the evening wore on, a steady stream of young men began to arrive, each one more handsome than the last. Madam Farheen's eyes sparkled with excitement as she nudged Master Khalid. "Khalid, look at all these eligible bachelors," she whispered, her voice barely audible over the music.

Master Khalid's eyes scanned the crowd, his expression thoughtful. "Are they...?" he asked, his voice trailing off.

Madam Farheen nodded, her smile widening. "Welcome, everyone! You are all welcome. We are so glad you could attend," she exclaimed, her voice warm and inviting.

The young men greeted Master Khalid with respect, their faces lighting up with smiles as they shook his hand. After the last of the visitors had arrived, Master Khalid turned to Madam Farheen, his eyes sparkling with curiosity. "Have you seen how many bachelors are in here?" he asked, his voice low.

Madam Farheen laughed, her eyes glinting with amusement. "Indeed, more than I expected. How is it that so many young men are still reluctant to marry?" Master Khalid asked, his brow furrowed in concern.

Madam Farheen's smile grew wider. "Oh, maybe they were all waiting for your daughter, Asa. She has an unexplainable beauty that draws people in."

Master Khalid's face lit up with pride. "Yes, she does," he said, his voice filled with emotion.

Madam Farheen's eyes sparkled with mischief. "In your opinion, who do you think would be the most suitable match for Asa?" Master Khalid asked, his eyes narrowing in thought.

Madam Farheen's smile grew wider. "A lot of them, but I would go with... Jafar, the son of one of the tribe leaders. He is strong, brave, and kind."

Master Khalid's eyes followed Madam Farheen's gaze, his expression thoughtful. Jafar was indeed a handsome young man, with a strong jawline and piercing eyes. As he laughed and chatted with the other guests, his face lit up with a warm smile.

Madam Farheen's voice drew Master Khalid's attention back to her. "And then there's Amir, he's kind of adorable, isn't he?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with amusement.

Master Khalid's eyes followed Madam Farheen's gaze, his expression thoughtful. Amir was indeed a charming young man, with a quick smile and a gentle demeanor.

Just as Madam Farheen was about to point out another potential suitor, Asa's voice cut through the music, her words clear and unmistakable. "What are you guys discussing? The party is inside, isn't it?"

Madam Farheen's eyes widened in surprise, and she let out a little gasp. "Oh my god, Asa! You scared me!" she exclaimed, her hand flying to her chest.

Master Khalid cleared his throat, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Did you hear anything?" he asked, his voice low.

Asa's eyes met Master Khalid's, her expression innocent. "No, I wouldn't have if you'd let me," she replied, her voice tinged with a hint of mischief.

Asa's eyes met Master Khalid's, her expression innocent. "No, I wouldn't have if you'd let me," she replied, her voice tinged with a hint of mischief.

Master Khalid let out a gentle sigh as he offered Asa his elbow. She accepted it graciously, linking her hands to his, and together they began their stroll into the grand hall. Madam Farheen followed closely behind, her eyes shining with warmth.

As they entered the hall, all eyes turned to them, mesmerized by the dignified pair. Asa, however, felt a surge of awkwardness wash over her. She had never been one for grand celebrations, and the sheer number of visitors overwhelmed her.

"Today's homecoming is different, isn't it?" she asked Master Khalid in a low voice, her eyes scanning the crowd.

Master Khalid's expression turned gentle, and he whispered, "I wanted to show off my beautiful daughter. It's all for you, Asa."

Asa's cheeks flushed with warmth, and she chuckled, feeling a sense of nostalgia wash over her. She had often imagined walking side by side with her father, just like this, on her wedding day. Though Master Khalid wasn't her biological father, he had become a loving and caring parent to her.

As they reached their seats, the room erupted into applause. Asa smiled graciously, her eyes shining with gratitude. "Thank you, everyone, for coming. Enjoy the celebration!" she exclaimed, taking her seat.

The festivities began, with students from various categories showcasing their talents, dedicating their performances to Asa. The atmosphere was heartwarming, and Asa found herself clapping enthusiastically, sipping wine, and laughing with the guests.

During one of the performances, Asa's gaze drifted towards the entrance, and her eyes locked onto a familiar figure. The magistrate, Omran, had arrived, his commanding presence and charming smile drawing attention from the crowd.

Madam Farheen, seated beside Master Khalid, whispered excitedly, "I guess we have an honorable guest today. The magistrate Omran is here!"

Master Khalid's eyes narrowed, his attention drawn to the magistrate's elegant entrance. "Interesting. Is he also a bachelor?" he asked, his voice low.

Madam Farheen's eyes sparkled with intrigue. "Every inch a bachelor, sir. If he pairs with Asa, forget about Jafar. He's far more powerful in terms of rank, and with Asa as the leader of the organization, they would make a formidable couple."

Master Khalid's gaze turned to Asa, his eyes searching for any sign of recognition. Did she know the magistrate? Asa, however, was lost in thought, her eyes fixed on Omran, wondering what had brought him to the celebration. Had he come to stir up trouble after she had threatened to terminate their deal?

As the performance came to a close, Magistrate Omran rose from his seat, a glass of wine in hand, and made his way to the table where Master Khalid and Asa sat. His movements were fluid and confident, and his smile was charming as he greeted Master Khalid.

"Master Khalid, a pleasure to meet, and thank you for the invitation," he said, his voice eloquent and refined. Asa, however, remained still, her eyes avoiding his gaze.

Master Khalid stood up, his own glass of wine in hand, and cheered with Magistrate Omran's glass. "Indeed, Magistrate Omran. I should thank you for gracing us with your presence on a day like today."

Omran laughed, taking a sip of his wine. As Madam Farheen caught his eye, she stood up, her chair scraping against the floor. "Please, Magistrate, have my seat," she said, her smile warm and inviting.

Asa's eyes widened in surprise as Madam Farheen vacated her seat, and Omran took it gladly. Asa was now seated on the opposite side of Master Khalid, and she seemed relieved to be at a distance from the Magistrate.

"It's been almost four years, hasn't it?" Master Khalid said, seating himself beside Omran. "Since you took the Magistrate position."

Omran nodded, his eyes sparkling with pride. "Yes, it has. I'm glad I did."

Master Khalid's expression turned thoughtful. "Of course, in those four years, you've made significant changes. It's surprising, yet impressive, for a young man like you to attain that position."

Omran's smile grew wider. "I did my best to acquire that position," he said, his voice confident.

Master Khalid muttered, "Indeed." He then turned to Asa, his eyes twinkling with warmth. "Oh, meet my daughter. You must not know her, as she's frequently away."

Omran's gaze turned to Asa, his smile charming. "So I've heard. It's nice to meet you, Miss Asa. I'm sure you're enjoying this celebration as much as I am."

Asa turned to him, her eyes narrowing slightly. She smirked, her voice cold. "I do, Magistrate Omran."

Master Khalid sensed a tension between them, but he couldn't quite put his finger on what it was about. Little did he know that this wasn't the first time Asa and Omran had met. They had crossed paths multiple times, each time she left and returned, the Magistrate's office being the last place she visited before departing and the first place she visited upon her return.

But Master Khalid was oblivious to this, and Asa intended to keep it that way.
