Chapter 12: Must Be Quite Interesting

Upon reaching the second floor, Yang Dongqing was greeted by a wall adorned with a vivid ouroboros emblem in dark gold, the intricate patterns almost lifelike. In the corners stood rows of white candles emitting the subtle fragrance of jasmine.

Yang Dongqing, however, paid no attention to these details. His gaze was fixed on the ominous black muzzles of guns ahead.

Only two Snake Gang members blocked the way this time, each armed with dual pistols and standing like impenetrable gatekeepers.

"Where is Jasmine?" Yang demanded.

A gunshot answered him.

**Bang!**

A fleeting flash emerged from one of the gun barrels, and a brass-colored bullet whizzed toward him.

Yang Dongqing made no move to evade it—he couldn't outrun a bullet.

**Clang!**

The bullet ricocheted off his body, sparking against his clothes, which now bore a hole exposing his metallic skin underneath.

Yang Dongqing's face remained expressionless as he stared down his attackers. "These toys..."

**Bang bang bang...**

The barrage of gunfire drowned out the rest of his words.

**Clang clang clang...**

The bullets rained down, but it was as if they were striking an iron wall. All they managed to do was rip apart his clothing without inflicting any real harm.

In the surveillance room, Su Mu watched the display of Yang Dongqing's power with growing satisfaction. His sharp eyes noted one particular weakness—Yang's eyes.

Whenever the bullets flew, Yang instinctively shielded his eyes with his hand.

"So that's his weak spot," Su Mu murmured before issuing a calm order through his communicator: "Use grenades."

Obeying the command, the two armed men pulled grenades from their pockets.

Seeing this, Yang Dongqing's composed demeanor faltered slightly. His expression hardened, and he charged toward the two men with blinding speed, leaving them no time to throw their grenades.

But they didn't need to throw them.

"For the leader!"

The two men raised their grenades high and lunged at Yang Dongqing without hesitation.

**Boom! Boom!**

Explosions rocked the hallway, shattering the walls around them.

When the smoke cleared, only two mangled bodies remained on the floor. Yang Dongqing stood unscathed, his form like an unyielding monolith amidst the carnage.

In the surveillance room, Su Mu's eyes gleamed with excitement. "So, this is what it means to be extraordinary?"

Yang Dongqing had only recently become a transcendent being, and yet he could already shrug off bullets and withstand explosions. The thought sent a thrill through Su Mu.

But then, the sight of Yang coughing violently interrupted his musings.

Yang Dongqing spat out mouthfuls of blood, though he continued forward without pause, wiping his lips as if dismissing his injuries.

"His internal organs... They're vulnerable," Su Mu muttered to himself. "His insides are still human."

The third floor bore the same ouroboros patterns and white candles. This time, however, Yang Dongqing faced two men clad in thick fireproof suits, each armed with a massive flamethrower.

The moment they saw Yang, they opened fire without a word.

A torrent of flames surged through the hallway, consuming everything in its path. Yang Dongqing's silhouette disappeared within the inferno.

But seconds later, a charred figure burst out of the blaze like a predator, hurtling toward the two men.

Anticipating their fate, the men discarded their flamethrowers and pulled out grenades, rushing at Yang Dongqing.

"For the leader!!"

**Boom! Boom!**

The explosions tore their bodies to pieces, but Yang Dongqing emerged again, coughing up more blood. His hair and eyebrows had been completely scorched off, and his melted clothing clung to his body like blackened plastic.

Despite his gruesome appearance, his movements remained steady.

In the surveillance room, Nan Mo watched in stunned silence, her jaw agape. For the first time, she grasped the true nature of the man who had shared her bed for a night.

Bulletproof. Fireproof. Invincible.

"He's like a superhuman," she murmured.

The term "transcendent" was one she had heard from Su Mu. Now she understood why Su Mu had gone to such lengths to capture Yang Dongqing.

Maybe... just maybe... Yang could...

She stole a glance at Su Mu out of the corner of her eye. Unlike her, Su Mu showed no signs of fear. If anything, his expression was one of amusement, like a hunter delighted by an interesting prey.

Strangely, she found Su Mu far more terrifying than Yang Dongqing.

"Aren't you worried at all?" she asked abruptly.

"Worried? About what?"

"That you've made an enemy of a transcendent being. What do you think he'll do when he finds out you're the mastermind? Your men clearly can't stop him."

Su Mu tilted his head slightly, his piercing gaze locking onto hers.

"Are you testing me?"

Nan Mo froze. "I'm just curious."

Su Mu's lips curled into a gentle smile. "Rather than worried, I'd say I'm... excited."

"Excited?"

"Think about it. When Yang Dongqing finally confronts me, only to find the woman he loves safe and sound—perhaps even enjoying a steak—what do you think his reaction will be?"

Nan Mo's face turned pale. Su Mu's meaning was clear: Yang Dongqing would discover that she had been working with the Snake Gang all along. She couldn't imagine what would happen next, nor did she dare to.

"It must be quite interesting, don't you think?"

Su Mu's soft voice filled the room, sending chills down Nan Mo's spine.

"Relax," he added. "It won't be easy for him to find me. The fourth floor is filled with gas. The earlier tests have already proven that his body is impervious to external damage, but his internal organs are vulnerable. That means he can't resist poison. And this isn't just any gas—it's a custom blend I acquired on the black market. Even a transcendent won't survive it."

"And if he does?"

Su Mu's grin widened. "Then it'll be even more interesting. I imagine... I'll be torn to pieces. Hahaha..."

He laughed as if picturing the scene, genuinely entertained by the thought.

Nan Mo didn't know how to feel. Her mind drifted to unrelated memories—her childhood, before her father had succumbed to gambling. Back then, her family had been happy.

She remembered scoring 100 on a test and her father promising to take her to the amusement park as a reward. She had been thrilled for an entire week in anticipation.

That same sense of eager expectation was now written all over Su Mu's face.
