"Before I become a Demon King, I gotta survive this battle!"
Xaren shouted as he jumped at an elf and stabbed his blade through their unguarded back, twisting the blade inside before bringing it out.
The elf still wasn't dead so Xaren used his gravity to double the force around his fist and punched the spot where he had stabbed, knocking them onto the ground before stabbing the elf again.
Suddenly, the sound of a horn trumpet was heard and cheers erupted from every demon in sight. Xaren ignored them and continued attacking every angel and elf in sight, and eventually, he ran out of foes as they began retreating.
"What level am I now?"
Xaren questioned as he opened his status board and glanced through it.

"Level 65? And my stats are all D-Rank now."
Xaren remembered how long it took him to reach Level 65 in his last life and sighed, deciding to stop thinking about this otherwise he'd just make himself depressed for no reason.
'Well, most of what I know comes from there so there's no way I can just forget it.'
Still, he understood that most of what he knew might not be accurate, especially about other races and not just the demons.
'I doubt the Demons are the only ones with 'Kings'. It'd be prudent to assume the other races have 'Kings' as well.
If we use a feudalistic setting, there are usually 'Lords' of territories under 'Kings', so I'm guessing the Demons have 'Lords' as well.'
Xaren's guess was correct as there indeed existed 'Demon Lords' under the Demon Kings. He was also correct in assuming the other races had Kings as well.
These 'Lords' and 'Kings' were all called Race Rulers.
'Are there any other Ranks below the Lords as well?'
He asked himself this question, but he didn't have the answer.
'Maybe I can find out from Floch and the others…'
Xaren wondered if Floch would remember him, especially considering there were thousands of unranked demons everywhere.
'It'd be nice. Maybe I can get to ask some questions and know more about the hierarchy.'
As he watched the sky, now mending itself after the Demon King's departure, the thought crossed his mind.

Interstellar Operations Spaceship Type 79.
Planet Zorix 1I Gravitational Field
Sector 98
January 15th
Year 9023 of the 50th General Calendar
'Demon King' Gazer appeared on the elevated platform with a flash of lightning. His feet touched down on the floor and he took fast steps forward, passing by the rows of demons bowing their heads.
""Your Excellency.""
These Demon Lords bowed before Gazer and he acknowledged them with a nod.
Just then, the lights of the spaceship glowed and a hologram appeared before Gazer as he moved.
[Oy, Geezer. What are you doing in that backwater sector? We've got issues on the frontlines here.]
The figure of a woman with twisted horns just like his appeared, and she asked this question with a raised brow.
"We had a new batch of demons coming in today so I showed up to give them a morale boost."
Gazer replied as he continued walking down the long hallway and hearing his words the woman responded with a frown.
[You could have sent any random 'Peak Rank Demon' and that'd have been enough. Why'd you have to go yourself?]
She listed the name of another Demon Rank that was right above the 'High-Rank', but below the 'Demon Lord' rank in her words, and Gazer replied to her question with a light smile.
"Wanted to see if there was anyone promising. There were a few incognito Nobles hidden amongst them."
That, was a big FAT lie. Gazer had been scouring worlds because he was looking for the Singularity Existence that had been created because of something he did in an Apex World 10 years ago.
Though the woman on the other end of the line doubted Gazer, she didn't show it and just went along with him.
[Those guys still do that thing? Seriously, if they wanted their kids to learn the reality of life and war, we've got better battlefields where noble bloodlines are needed.
Especially those damned Frost Demons! The Fire Giants of Sector 38 are a fucking nuisance!]
The woman cursed at the fire giants of that Sector who decided to ally with the humans there, unlike in many other sectors.
[So? You see anyone worth their salt?
That place is meant to weed out the useless newborns—that's why we have the Higher-Ranked demons observe only—so there should have been some few useful ones who showed promise.]
"I can't tell that in a single battle, you know? Some might be flukes."
[But you can at least 'see' if there's some latent power in them, can't you? They don't call you Geezer—I mean, Gazer, for nothing.]
Gazer sighed and shook his head when he heard the woman purposely miss his name, but he still answered her question.
"I can, and I saw a few. There was one who was really good with wind magic, and we had a few lightning users.
Some Straga demons showed promise as well.
There was one who used gravity in a really intriguing way. He used his gravity magic to pull the darkness element into his flames, creating black flames with stronger firepower.
The funniest part was that he didn't seem to realise what he was doing."
The man chuckled as he spoke and hearing him, the woman on the other end of the line had her eyes widen in surprise.
[He used Gravity to pull in the 'elements' themselves? You sure you were looking at an unranked?
Using gravity to pull in intangible things like elements is some high-level stuff.]
"Not really though. At least, not for that guy.
He probably has a Unique Series Skill. You know how Series Skills have passive effects that manifest without the user realising it, even if the skill hasn't been awakened."
Gazer calmly spoke on the reason for Xaren's success in infusing his fire and darkness attributes; a passive 'attraction' force of his Child of Gravity skill.
The man entered a room and picked up a few items, wrote down some orders on a paper before holding up his right hand to conjure a magic circle.
"Give me your coordinates."
[Hmm? You're coming over now?]
"Were you not the one who wanted me to?"
[Oh, yeah, I did.]
The Demon Queen chuckled as she spoke, before calling out the spatial coordinates of her location for Gazer who inscribed them into the magic circle he was conjuring.
Within seconds, a spatial gate was born and the man stepped into it, disappearing from the sector.

The battle was concluded.
And how many hours have passed after that? Xaren couldn't tell.
He was more focused on the reward he was receiving. As for what that reward was, it was armour.
Actual armour, and not clothes enchanted for basic defence. They even tossed in a weapon too.
The Mid-Rank demons had been tasked with observing the battlefield, so they were able to notice unranked demons who had performed particularly well.
Xaren was one of the ones they noticed as he had a high number of kills compared to his cohorts. He also displayed far better skill than them.
He briefly wondered if his skill level, which far exceeded the basic fighting knowledge in the 'Survival Guide', would draw any questions. However, it quickly became clear that the Mid-Ranked demons simply didn't care.
As for why he had not tried to limit himself to prevent any suspicion, that would have been counterproductive and might've put him in danger.
Trying to purposely limit himself was quite hard, and given that some Mid-Rank demons already saw him as an anomaly, doing so might've been what'd make them suspicious.
'Lastly, if I did that, I wouldn't have gotten proper gear.'
Rewarding him with new gear was their way of saying: 'If you could perform well with those basic stuff, take this higher-level stuff and perform better. Oh, and as a side piece, here's an extra set of clothes.'
