The sun hung low in the sky, casting a warm golden hue over the beach, where the rhythmic sound of crashing waves provided a backdrop to the unfolding drama. The air was thick with tension as two figures faced each other on the soft, white sand, their bare feet sinking slightly with each movement. One of them, Dawn, His opponent, Ryker, stood confidently, a smirk playing on his lips as he observed Dawn's angry demeanor.
"You're a lier, Ryker," Dawn spat, his eyes blazing with anger. "What was all that bullshit of the founders being visionary.
Ryker chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "This was their vision."
"Vision my ass" Dawn hissed.
"Just acc-
Dawn suddenly charged as Ryker but just as he lunged, his foot caught on a hidden rock beneath the sand. Time seemed to slow as he stumbled, arms flailing in a desperate attempt to regain his balance. The ground rushed up to meet him, and with a thud, he fell, sand spraying around him like confetti. The impact knocked the wind out of him, and for a brief moment, he lay there, helpless and vulnerable.
Standing up he tried rushed in Ryker's direction trying to quickly change the embarrassing scene, Suddenly Ryker hands blurred, Dawn's eyes widened as he felt a hard impact on his chest which threw him away from Ryker.
Standing up Dawn charged out again this time detamined to land a hit, lowering down a little he charged straight at ryker, Ryker blurred again and he was sent flying again, this time harder. As he hit the ground he spat out blood as his eyes rolled back.
"With your pitiful strength forget about winning against me,you can't even touch me" Ryker sneered at him "I am already at VIRGO rank"
"The fuck do I care if you are a VIRGO rank awakened" 'like I even know what that is' Dawn mused in his mind. Turning to look back at him he stood up and wiped the blood off his lips. Dawn's eyes widened as Ryker landed a devastating kick, sending him crashing to the ground. The young boy struggled to get back to his feet, Ryker chuckled, taking a few steps closer. "Is that all you've got? You can't just rely on brute force, you have to think and be strategic " He extended a hand to help Dawn up, but the fallen fighter swatted it away, embarrassment flooding his cheeks. With a grunt, he pushed himself off the sand and back onto his feet, determination igniting within him once more.
"Let's go again!" Dawn shouted, trying to mask his frustration. He charged at Ryker again, this time focusing on his footing, this time. He swung a punch, aiming for Ryker's jaw, but his timing was off. The punch sailed wide, and he stumbled once more, losing control of his body as he tried to pivot.
Ryker sidestepped easily, his movements fluid and practiced. "You're too wild, Dawn! You need to find your center!" He dodged another of Dawn's wild swings, then swiftly moved in, delivering a sharp jab to Dawn's midsection. The blow knocked the air out of him, and he doubled over, gasping for breath.
"Focus!" Ryker instructed, stepping back to give Dawn a moment to recover. "You have to learn to channel your strength. It's not just about being strong; it's about being smart." Dawn grunted, trying inwardly to absorb the advice amidst the haze of frustration. He straightened up, wiping the sand from his face, and took a deep breath, attempting to center himself as Ryker had suggested.
With renewed resolve, Dawn squared his shoulders and faced Ryker again. This time, he concentrated on his movements, visualizing each step before he took it. He advanced slowly, testing his balance, and when he threw a punch, it was calculated and precise. Ryker raised an eyebrow, impressed by the change in Dawn's approach.
"Now you're getting it!" Ryker encouraged, dodging another punch but noticing the improvement in Dawn's control. The fight continued, with Dawn gradually finding his rhythm, mixing offense with defense. He blocked Ryker's strikes and countered with his own, the sound of their fists meeting echoing over the waves.
But as the fight progressed, Dawn suddenly felt something like some kind of energy. It started from the middle of his spine and started drawing somthing from all over his body, from his toe to the tip of his hair and then withdraw with something, Dawn had a nagging feeling that something was-information, yes information, he didn't know how he discovered what the was energy but he just instinctively knew. Barely few moments the strange feeling withdraw it came again this time bearing with it a warm sensation that permeated throughout his body. Feeling the warm sensation Dawn almost purred out in comfort but he was in the middle of a fight and purring out in comfort would label him a "M". He started waiting for a reaction from his body but he didn't get a reaction, cause he had an idea to what that thing was "it's my quirk right". Dawn rationalise in his mind, but Atlas reality was different from imagination the expected strength didn't come, far from it, his strength was just as pathetic as before, so was his speed and also his reliance.
Suddenly he was getting used to Ryker attacks, not to the extent of countering but to the extent of expecting hid next attack but dodging Ryker's attack was another thing.
Dawn thought of a plan as noticing that Ryker's attack had sloowed down and had given time to think, his eyes lit up as he congratulated himselves for such an ingenious plan. He started fighting smugly giving Ryker the expression that his ego was inflating.so in the perspective of Ryker in a moment of overconfidence, Dawn unleashed a flurry of punches, each one fueled by his enhanced strength. However, his lack of control became apparent as he lost his footing once more, stumbling awkwardly in the sand.
"Dawn, stop!" Ryker shouted, his tone urgent. "You're losing it again!" But it was too late; Dawn's momentum carried him forward, and he crashed into Ryker but Ryker was fast enough to escape Dawn's tumbling, but Dawn had a different plan as soon as Ryker dodged he unexpectedly turned and lunged I'm the direction of Ryker causing him to let out a triumphant laugh, which was cut off, cause he soon crashed into what seemed to be the after image of Ryker and before he could regain his footing, With a series of swift, precise strikes, Ryker sent Dawn crashing towards the boat, the boat splintered upon impact. The young boy lay there, dazed and disoriented, as Ryker stood over him, his chest heaving with exertion.
Laying down on the pristine white sand he thought back to his quirk 'is my quirk related to adeptivity'. That was the only thing he could come up with 'should I tell Ryker' Dawn wondered if the right thing was to tell Ryker even though they only knew each other for like a day now, he cast his gaze to Ryker who was standing a few meters in front of him.
"Hmm I can certainly feel an impact in my ribs" Ryker said with sarcasm dripping from his voice.
"Fucker I couldn't even get to you" Dawn roared in anger at his shameful defeat.
Dawn calmed down afterwards and then in his calm state he rationalised 'on top of only knowing him for a day i don't know the first thing about him, it's better to play it safe' Dawn concluded before hearing the irritating voice of Ryker
"It's a shame, really," Ryker said, his voice barely above a whisper. "Your boat is gone."
