Chereads / The Supreme Sorcerer System / Chapter 12 - Defeat the Necromancer!

Chapter 12 - Defeat the Necromancer!

"What in the world are you implying about my sister, doc?!" I bellowed, disregarding any commotion it may cause in the hospital.

I had just returned from the treacherous Sea of Ice Dungeon to discover that my sister, Arlene, had slipped into a coma after experiencing an unexplained fever.

"She displayed similar symptoms as the others who have fallen into a coma, and yet we still cannot provide an explanation through our assessments. All we can do now is provide her with necessary nourishment and closely monitor her breathing, much like we are doing for your mother. We regret having to deliver this devastating news. Please excuse us," the doctor uttered in a somber tone before swiftly exiting the room.

I was left speechless, stunned by the fact that my family was now facing this unexplainable coma.

The hospital room, which was once only occupied by my unconscious mother, now had an additional bed for my sister.

I sat down, gazing at the two of them lying motionless, feeling an overwhelming emptiness in my soul.

As my skills as a sorcerer were developing, I was able to cover the medical expenses and pay off our family's debts.

However, this was not the kind of condition I had hoped to use my powers for.

At this rate, I needed to accelerate my search for the Miracle Potion, two of which were required for my sister's recovery.

Taking a deep breath, I attempted to calm myself and avoid dwelling too much on this depressing situation.

After regaining my composure, I took a moment to review the System.

It then dawned on me that I had five Sapphire Gemstones, which fulfilled the requirement for unlocking a new magic spell.

 > You Activated The Soul of Ice!

> You get new Magician Spell!

 >Active Skill:

Lightning Bolt

Gaia Endowment

Divine Thunder

Fire Storm

Lightning Spark

Blade of Fire

Quicksand

Ice Javelin

Frost Bite

>Passive Skill:

Magic Barrier

Mana Regeneration

Health Regeneration

Two new spells, Ice Javelin and Frost Bite, have been acquired.

Based on my previous battles, I have deduced that Ice Javelin is designed for swift and precise long-range attacks on single targets, similar to Lightning Bolt but with added accuracy to target specific weak points for higher damage.

On the other hand, Frost Bite shares similarities with Fire Storm in its elemental nature but differs in its method of inflicting damage.

These spells will prove to be valuable in future Quest Systems.

However, something feels amiss. In my past battles, while striving to complete the System's Quest, I have always found myself in dire situations.

As a Sorcerer, I heavily rely on long-range attacks as a safer approach to defeat enemies.

But there have been instances where I had to resort to short-range attacks, which come with a high risk but also yield a greater damage output.

If only I possessed the ability to control an Ice Golem like the Legendary Sorcerer, I could use it as a powerful guardian while casting spells.

I recall using the Fragment of Necromancer Soul to resurrect fallen Knights as my allies, which proved to be a lifesaver when facing off against The Ice Sorcerer.

I cannot help but feel the need for such a spell as I prepare to face the challenges of the new Key of Abandoned Tower Dungeon, which I believe will be more treacherous than the Sea of Ice Dungeon.

In the midst of my thoughts, I swiftly check the Knight's Apps, only to find that I am still blacklisted by all Knights and Guilds, except for William, Kael, and Minerva.

This not only stems from Stella's false accusation but also from the news of Winstein and his henchmen being declared KIA, which has given them another reason to label me as a jinx.

This blacklist may seem foolish and irrational, but it hinders my ability to explore Dungeons that may contain valuable items and equipment to enhance my magical powers.

"Oh, hold on a moment."

My attention is drawn to a Knight who hasn't blacklisted me, Avyanna.

I recall her as a B-rank Knight, with political influence stemming from her family.

She has joined me and Winstein in our mission to invade the Hidden Dungeon.

Avyanna and I have made a pact to keep the truth about Winstein's death between us, as she was nearly a victim as well.

I had expected her to fear me and blacklist me, but surprisingly she has even reached out to me multiple times via email, asking to meet up.

I brush off any thoughts about her intentions and head out for a coffee break.

As I walk through the hallway, a woman with long blonde hair approaches me in a hurried manner.

She is dressed casually, with a long skirt, and quickly bows upon reaching me. It takes a moment for me to realize that this is Avyanna, looking much different from her usual shining Knight armor.

"Why are you here?" I inquire.

"I came to visit your mother and sister, after getting the information from Kael," she replies.

Without words, I understand there must be a hidden agenda behind her visit to the hospital.

"Thank you," I say with a flat tone. "I was just about to take a coffee break. Would you like to join me?"

"Y-yes!" Avyanna responds eagerly, her face turning red with excitement.

***

"It seems like this is a difficult time for you, Alstair," Avyanna spoke with a concerned tone.

I took a sip of my black coffee, attempting to ease the weight of my burdens as I reflected on my progress.

Unfortunately, things had only gotten worse since my sister and mother fell into a coma.

At this rate, I knew I needed to speed up my search for the Miracle Potion. However, I also knew that undertaking the hidden dungeon quest recklessly would be challenging and potentially life-threatening.

"Don't worry, I will find a way," I finally responded after a long silence, taking another sip of my coffee. "But first, why don't you tell me what's really on your mind? I know there's more to it than just visiting my family," I stated bluntly.

Avyanna was taken aback, but quickly composed herself. "I didn't expect you to be so direct. I wanted to ask you about joining the guild-"

"I have no interest in joining a guild," I interrupted. "William offered me the same opportunity, but I declined. I have my own priorities and I don't want to become a burden to any guild."

Of course, the real reason I refused was because of the System and my desire to keep it a secret from others.

"But won't it be difficult for you to advance your Knight missions with your current F rank?" Avyanna questioned. "I've seen with my own eyes that you are not an F rank Knight, but perhaps an A or S rank Knight. I would rather believe that you were the one to defeat the Headless Knight, rather than believe Stella's lies," she stated urgently.

She had a valid point.

Knights can increase their rank based on their contributions to missions.

I may have been involved in many important missions, but due to the unfair mistrust towards me, my contributions were not recognized by the Knight Association, leaving me stuck at F rank.

"You have the potential to rank up, Alstair. You just need to join a proper guild," Avyanna continued.

As far as I knew, Knight ranks were not only determined by their individual contributions, but also by their contributions to their guild.

If a guild successfully completed a mission and collected a certain amount of Monster Diamonds, they could increase both their Guild Rank and their Knight Rank.

However, the way a guild measured the contributions of its members differed.

The Knight Association determined the contributions of individual knights, but if a knight was ordered by their guild, their contributions were measured by the guild leader.

"I had a vision of creating a new Guild, freeing myself from the reliance on my current one," Avyanna explained.

"That's quite a daring plan. Isn't your Guild tied to your family's influence? They won't approve of this decision," I responded.

"I understand the risks involved, but I've carefully weighed my options. I need to take this bold step towards my independence. Plus, if my plan succeeds, my family's perception of me will change," Avyanna stated confidently.

"So, this is all about how you want your family to see you differently," I remarked.

"Being born into a family with significant political and social power isn't as glamorous as it seems. I've thought long and hard about this, and you're the key person who can help me achieve it," Avyanna took a moment to sip her tea before continuing.

"I want to become a Guild leader, and I promise to provide a significant portion of the Guild's contributions to you, Alstair," she offered.

I paused, sipping my coffee while considering Avyanna's proposal.

At this point, I needed to speed up my efforts to support my mother and sister.

There may be challenges ahead due to the System's Quest, but I have to raise my Knight rank quickly so I can venture into any Dungeon on my own, with the clues from the Miracle Potion.

"I'll accept your offer on three conditions," I stated firmly.

"S-sure...! What are they, Alstair?" Avyanna asked eagerly.

"First, the Guild will consist of only you and me. Second, I want you to give me full control of all the Guild Contributions. And third, I get to choose which Dungeon we tackle," I clarified.

"Handing over all the contributions...? W-well, that's fine as long as it doesn't hinder our Guild's growth. One question, though. Do you think we can finish a Dungeon with just the two of us?" Avyanna inquired.

I wanted it to be just the two of us because I didn't want to share the Guild Contributions with anyone else.

I needed a significant amount of Contributions to raise my rank quickly.

"I can handle it," I replied after a long pause.

"Okay, if you say so," Avyanna agreed.

We shook hands, sealing our agreement.

"Allow me to handle the administrative duties for our Guild. Avyanna appears eager to begin our Guild's activities.

I pause, taking a moment to review my Knight status on the Knight application. According to the application, I am now a registered member of the Crystallice Guild, with Avyanna as our leader.

Currently, the guild only consists of the two of us. As I continue browsing, a menu displays the available missions that the Crystallice Guild can undertake.

With Avyanna being the highest-ranked Knight at B-rank, the highest mission we can accept is a B-rank mission.

Among the options, the Orc Dungeon stands out with its highest Monster Diamond rate, but also the highest risk of death and severe injuries.

Through the mission's records, I learn that a group of Orcs initially invaded a northern city, but were eventually driven back by the Knights.

However, the Monster Gate still remains open, forcing Knights to enter and face the Orcs' hidden camp.

Unfortunately, the Orcs have a strategic ambush plan in place, making it challenging for Knights to advance.

As a result, no Knight has ventured further into the Monster Gate, as there have been numerous reports of severe injuries and even deaths due to the Orcs' ambush.

While I understand the danger of this mission, it is not enough to deter me.

"Let's take on the Orc Dungeon Mission," I confidently decide.

***

"Alstair, are you prepared?" Avyanna greeted me as soon as I reached the front entrance of the Monster Gate.

Her appearance had undergone a complete transformation since the last time I saw her.

She was now adorned in her Knight Gears, including a lavish silver shield and armor.

"Oh, have you greeted our fellow online companions, Alstair?" Avyanna pulled out her camera device from her Knight armor and directed it towards me.

I suddenly remembered that she always recorded our missions live.

At least she wasn't as annoying as Stella.

On the camera screen, I saw myself standing next to Avyanna, but my attention was quickly diverted to the numerous comments flooding in from the viewers.

It wasn't surprising, considering that this live stream had over 6,000 viewers.

A quick scan of the comments revealed their true nature:

"Whoa, Avyanna, what were you thinking? Joining forces with the Traitor?"

"Avyanna, you left the elite Guild just to start a new one with this troublesome Knight? You're digging your own grave!"

"I can't imagine how badly they'll fail on this mission. They'll either end up seriously injured or dead for no reason!"

The comment section was quite chaotic at the moment.

"Let's focus on the mission, Avyanna," I reminded her, shifting my gaze towards the Monster Gate.

"Of course! Let's get going!" Avyanna responded, readjusting the camera on her armor to capture her point of view.

As we pass through the gate, the blue and white light illuminates our path.

The gentle rustle of the wind through the trees and the chirping of birds fills the air as we reach the Orc Dungeon.

My eyes scan our surroundings, taking in the sight of the hilltop we stand upon. Two wooden barracks stand to the east, while a single one stands to the west.

The barracks are bustling with large, muscular Orcs, sharpening their weapons in preparation for battle.

It's clear that brute strength is the Orcs' main weapon, and our team of Knights relies on Tankers to defend against their aggression.

Despite the calm wind, I can feel the tension in the air.

The sound of trampling grass grows louder, and my instincts sharpen.

Something is coming. "Alstair, watch out!" Avyanna's voice snaps me out of my thoughts as she quickly intervenes, creating a protective barrier with her shield.

In a matter of seconds, an Orc smashes through the barrier with his axe, and others appear from all sides, their swords slashing at the barrier in a frenzy.

Amidst the chaos, Avyanna activates her counter skill, creating a magical force that pushes the aggressive Orcs back.

Taking advantage of the distraction, she unsheathes her sword and swiftly decapitates the Orcs with one clean strike. But the battle is not over yet.

Avyanna's eyes widen in alarm as she turns to me. "Alstair, behind you!" she shouts, panic evident in her voice.

I don't panic, though.

I can sense the three remaining Orcs behind me, ready to attack.

Without even looking, I cast three Lightning Bolts in rapid succession, striking each Orc with precision.

The once fierce Orcs now lay paralyzed on the ground, their faces pale with fear as I wield the powerful Dragon Scepter.

>Dragon Scepter attuned!

>Magic Power increased 100%

>Mana increased 100%

>Magic Defense increased 100%

As I watch the Orcs tremble in fear at the sight of my three Ice Javelins, I can't help but feel a tinge of boredom at how weak these so-called brute creatures are.

With a swift cast, the Javelins pierce each of them, silencing the failed ambush and proving my strength alongside Avyanna.

"Alstair, are you unharmed?" Avyanna rushes to my side, relieved that I was able to defend against the remaining Orcs who attempted to attack from behind.

"I never expected the Orcs to be aware of our arrival. While we may have survived this ambush, it's only a matter of time before we are overwhelmed by the next one. Perhaps we should retreat and rethink our strategy?" Avyanna expresses her doubts.

But retreating is no longer an option for me.

My mother and sister are in a comatose state, and I cannot waste any more time second-guessing my decision!

I must become an S-rank, for the sake of my family!

"Stick to the plan, Avyanna. I have an idea." I point the Dragon Scepter towards the Orc Barracks in the east.

Eight magical circles appear behind me, crackling with lightning as I prepare to cast the Divine Thunder spell.

The sky darkens, fueled by the electricity as the Orcs below panic, shifting their focus to the top of the hill where I stand.

Some even run to the tower, armed with bows and arrows to attack me.

But it's too late for them.

Thanks to my improved casting time, the Divine Thunder spell is ready.

Without hesitation, I unleash it, obliterating the entire Orc Barrack in one powerful strike.

"The entire barrack destroyed in one blast! Unbelievable!" Avyanna is impressed, but her excitement is short-lived as we hear the sound of multiple footsteps approaching once again.

This can only mean that the Orcs are launching another ambush, ten times stronger than the last.

But I was prepared for this.

I focus on casting Frost Bite, conjuring a freezing wind that swirls around the hill.

The cold temperatures freeze everything in its path, including the incoming Orc Ambush Troops.

But to my surprise, more Orcs emerge from another Barrack.

These brute creatures are determined to break through my Frost Bite spell.

I may have to maintain the spell, but that won't stop me from achieving my ultimate goal – to destroy all of the Orc Barracks.

>Sorcerer's Blindfold attuned!

>You can do Double Casting spell!

As the hordes of Orcs approached, I focused my energy on preparing the second Divine Thunder spell.

The icy wind of Frost Bite was a formidable barrier, and I refused to let the incoming Orcs distract me from my casting spell.

With a steady hand, I aimed the spell at the eastern Orc Barracks, knowing that it would only take a minute for it to be fully prepared.

As I channeled my power, I could hear the screams of the Orcs becoming more frantic.

They knew what was coming - the same blinding light, the same deadly thunder that had decimated their comrades in the west.

But they were powerless to stop it.

Without hesitation, I unleashed the second Divine Thunder, the sky crackling with electricity as the spell took form.

The blinding light was followed by a deafening boom as the thunder exploded upon the eastern Barracks, obliterating everything in its path.

In mere seconds, the Barracks were reduced to rubble, and any remaining Orcs were taken out in the blast.

The once-fearsome screams were silenced, and the only sound that remained was the crackling of the now-quiet storm.

>Sorcerer's Blindfold removed!

>You no longer can use Double Casting Spelling!

I paused the Frost Bite Spell, taking a sip of Mana Potion to replenish my energy.

As I scanned the deserted Orc Barracks in the west, I noticed a lack of movement from the ambush army.

It seemed they had been frozen solid by my spell.

The chilling silence of the frozen Orcs sent a shiver down my spine.

It was a sight that filled me with a sense of power and satisfaction.

I could almost hear their screams of agony as they were encased in ice.

With a smirk, I knew I had the upper hand in this battle.

I continued to survey the surroundings, my senses on high alert for any signs of danger until the notification from the Knight Application suddenly came intervene my focus.

*Crystallice Guild succeed finishing Orc Dungeon Quest!*

Avyanna's eyes lit up as she ran towards me, her excitement palpable.

"Alstair, that was incredible!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with awe. "You completely obliterated that Orc with your magic spell!"

I simply nodded, grateful that our mission had gone smoothly.

It was just the two of us in the guild, so things could have easily gone wrong.

"Wait, I have to show you something," Avyanna suddenly exclaimed, pulling out a camera from her Knight Armor.

She eagerly showed me the screen, her face beaming with pride.

"We have over 50,000 viewers on our stream! This is the most insane stream I've ever had!" I was taken aback by the overwhelming response.

The comment section was flooded with words of praise and admiration.

"Holy crap! He destroyed an entire barracks with one attack!"

"It's a game changer! These two Knights completed the highest risk B-rank mission in world record time!"

"I take back what I said, this so-called problematic Knight might just be the next Elite Knight!"

"The Knight Association made a mistake by keeping such a powerful Knight in the F-rank. He should be at least A-rank!"

The comments kept pouring in, making it impossible to read them all.

But I was distracted by the Magical Gate, which was slowly cracking and losing its light.

The source of power – the Orcs – had been defeated.

"Hurry, Alstair! Before the Gate closed!" Avyanna exclaimed, as she rushed towards the gate before it closed.

However, my attention was caught by a sudden feeling of peril.

In the distance, I spotted a tall, humanoid figure wielding a long, enchanted wand, standing before the gate.

As I focused on the mysterious being, I noticed the black bird mask perched upon its head.

It was the infamous Necromancer, known for sowing chaos among S-rank Knights during the Headless Knight Mission in the past.

"Stop," I commanded, pulling Avyanna back.

She gasped, realizing there was yet another monster guarding the Magical Gate.

"What is that thing? It's not an Orc," she said, readying her shield.

The shadowy figure of the Necromancer sent shivers down Avyanna's spine.

Her fear intensified as the Necromancer used its dark magic to resurrect a corpse of an Orc – the Orc Champion, to be exact.

Despite being nothing but a lifeless body, the Orc Champion still towered over us, its red eyes filled with murderous intent.

Its sheer size and power were intimidating.

As the Necromancer Witch's spell continued to control the Orc Champion, the massive creature raised its fist, ready to strike.

But the Necromancer's powers didn't stop there - it also used its dark magic to resurrect dead orcs, turning the destroyed barracks into a battleground once again.

It seemed as though we were ensnared in an eternal loop of surprise attacks, with peril lurking at every turn.

Despite the mounting risk, the System had issued a command for me to confront it head on.

Avyanna's grip tightened on my hand, urging me to flee to safety.

But I couldn't bring myself to move.

It was already too late - the number of enemies was overwhelming, and running would only make us easier targets.

Beside, the System had clearly give me a Quest to defeat the Necromancer.

"No, we have to stand our ground," I said firmly, refusing to give in to fear. "If we run, we'll never make it out alive."

"What are we supposed to do then?!" Avyanna cried out, the sound of approaching footsteps and the snarls of Orc zombies becoming louder by the second.

I quickly thought of a plan.

"Activate your Dome of Barrier!" I commanded, my mind racing as I prepared a spell.

Avyanna listened, her panicked expression shifting to determination as she lifted her shield and created a protective dome around us.

With my Lightning Spark spell at the ready, I waited for the perfect moment.

As the dead Orcs closed in on us, I unleashed a bolt of lightning that struck every one of them, rendering them motionless.

But even in their paralyzed state, the corpses continued to crawl and claw their way towards us, their bodies barely holding together.

It was clear that the Necromancer Witch's spell was still controlling them, driving them towards us.

I knew I needed to act fast.

I needed to cast another spell.

My mind raced as I searched for the right one.

Every second counted as the dead Orcs drew closer, their grotesque forms becoming more and more visible.

Reckoning from my experience on completing Headless Knight mission in the Arcton Fort, I remember the Necromancer have three core soul remaining.

Using my sense, I can sense only one core soul in Necromancer's body, one core soul in Orc Champion's body, and the last core soul somehow spread to resurrect a hundred of Dead Orcs scattered in Orc Barracks wreckage.

Now I had to destroy all of those Core Soul to regain my victory!

>Sorcerer's Blindfold attuned!

>You can do Double Casting spell!

With haste, I readied myself for the Fire Storm spell.

Avyanna's Dome of Barrier trembled and splintered under the weight of the Orc Zombies' relentless attacks, their claws, teeth, and fists tearing at its protective magic.

The smell of corpses and rotten organs of these Orc Zombies really disgust me.

Though I understood the appeal of the Necromancer spell in building an army, I couldn't help but feel a sense of cruelty in forcing these corpses to fight a battle they couldn't comprehend.

Without delay, I unleashed the Fire Storm spell, a tempest of flames swirling fiercely and consuming the Orc Zombies in its scorching grasp.

As the fire raged on, I was relieved to see the once-lifeless bodies reduced to mere ashes, freed from the shackles of the Necromancer spell.

The remaining Orc Zombies seemed to have lost their will to attack the Dome of Barrier, followed by the diminished one of Necromancer's core soul on them, but a sense of unease crept over me.

Through the vision of my Sorcerer's Blindfold, I sensed a powerful presence filled with bloodlust and aggression, quickly making its way towards my location.

My instincts kicked in, recognizing the Orc Champion.

Despite being bombarded by Lightning Sparks, the Orc Champion stood strong, impervious to paralysis.

It charged forward, surprisingly unaffected by the raging Fire Storm.

With a brutal punch, the Orc Champion shattered the Dome of Barrier, sending Avyanna and me flying, eventually crashing into the Orc's Barrack to the west.

>Warning!

>Health power: 34%

>Magic Power: 42%

The impact of the blow was excruciating.

I winced and squeezed my eyes shut, trying to block out the pain.

But I couldn't let it stop me!

I needed to keep fighting!

I reached for my potion bottle and took a quick sip, feeling the magic and health flow back into my body.

It was a temporary relief, but enough to give me the strength to keep going.

My eyes darted towards Avyanna, who was still lying on the ground, unconscious.

The Orc Champion had knocked her out with just one punch.

I couldn't believe it!

The ground shook as the Orc Champion charged towards me, ready to finish the job.

But I wasn't going down without a fight!

I quickly cast Quicksand, turning the ground into a thick, slow-moving sand that trapped the Orc and slowed its movements.

The Orc roared in anger as it struggled against the sand, but it was no use.

It was like trying to swim in quicksand.

I watched as its body slowly sank into the ground, becoming hardened like steel. This monster was tough, even the powerful Fire Storm and Lightning Spark spells had barely made a dent.

But what caught my attention was the figure standing on top of the Orc's shoulder.

The Necromancer.

Its eyes were fixed on me, a sharp and menacing gaze.

I could sense one of Necromancer's core soul shifting from the Orc's body to his scepter.

A shiver ran down my spine as I sensed a deadly threat coming from the Necromancer's scepter, which was now pointed directly at me.

A red light glowed from the edge of the scepter, slowly materializing into a chained javelin.

It flew towards me with incredible speed, piercing through my body with a searing pain.

I fell to my knees, my body weakening with every passing second. I tried to grab the javelin, but it was like trying to grasp air.

I could feel my stamina draining away, leaving me vulnerable and helpless.

>The Eyes of Dullahan ring activated!

>The poison effect reduced significantly!

>Warning! The Soul Domination spell had curse on your body and soul!

>50% of your body controlled by Soul Taker Spell

"Damn it!"

The system just delivered a devastating update about my condition.

My lower body is completely paralyzed, rendering me immobile.

"Unbelievable. You are a rare find, a true gem for a Sorcerer with the Zeta's curse. Most of the time, my Soul Domination spell can easily conquer a living soul with just one hit of poison. But you, you were prepared for such circumstances. You've grown tremendously since the last time I saw you," the Necromancer spoke calmly as he emerged from the fallen Orc Champion.

The red glow in the Orc Champion's eyes faded as its body sank into the quicksand.

The Necromancer had stopped the resurrection spell, and I could no longer sense the murderous intent from the Orc Champion.

"You're an intriguing Sorcerer. I have to give up conquering Orc Champions in order to fully focus on conquering your soul," the Necromancer remarked with a mix of agitation and excitement. "I would rather have a powerful Sorcerer like you under my control, than a hundred dead and useless orcs in this place," he continued with a sly smirk.

This Necromancer is insane!

I quickly aimed my Dragon Scepter towards the Necromancer, but suddenly my right hand went numb and lost all strength, forcing me to drop the weapon.

>Warning! The Soul Domination spell had curse on your body and soul!

>75% of your body controlled by Soul Domination Spell

Once again, the System alerted me to the direness of the situation at hand!

My ability to cast spells has been taken away!

Curse it all!

"I sense a great sense of despair and grief within you, Sorcerer. It seems that your loved ones are going through a terrible ordeal."

The Necromancer could read my emotions as if they were written in a book, thanks to their Soul Domination Spell.

"Fear not, sorcerer. Your suffering will soon be over. You will be put to eternal rest, as your soul belongs to me now," the Necromancer cackled with a devilish grin, the most sinister I have ever seen on a monster.

What nonsense is this creature spewing?!

Am I supposed to stand by and watch as my mother and sister fall into a coma, while I become a mere puppet in this monster's hands?!

No way!

I refuse to let this happen!

I will find a way to survive and rise up, to save my family with a miracle potion!

Even without my spell-casting abilities, there must be a solution!

Without hesitation, I scoured the system and grabbed any item that could aid me in battle!

> Fragment of Necromancer Soul utilized!

> Necromancer Spell Activated!

> The Orc Champion is under your control!

The Orc Champion's eye blazed a fiery red, its body rising with renewed vigor.

It charged forward in a fierce and aggressive manner, surprising the Necromancer with its sudden attack.

In an instant, the Necromancer was struck hard, sent flying and crashing into a nearby rock.

But the Orc Champion was relentless, unleashing a relentless barrage of punches upon the injured Necromancer.

"Halt," I commanded, using my regained strength to stop the Orc Champion's rampage.

My spells were once again at my disposal.

Gripping the Dragon Scepter tightly, I made my way towards the fallen Necromancer.

"I am defeated by a Sorcerer who relies on a single-use Necromancy spell. How ironic," the Necromancer said with a resigned tone as it lay dying.

But I stood firm, my gaze cold and unwavering.

Behind me, the Orc Champion stood, still under my control, ready to finish off the Necromancer with a single command from me.

"I see great potential in you," the Necromancer tried to bargain for its life.

"Join me, and I will teach you the ultimate skill of Necromancy, freeing you from Zeta's curse."

But my true purpose was not just to follow the System's orders, but to do what was right.

"The moment you mentioned my family, you crossed a line, Necromancer," I stated firmly.

"While your Necromancy spells may be powerful, I believe there are better alternatives than forcing the dead back to life."

"Then I must-"

The Necromancer's left hand began to glow with a bright red spell.

But my instincts kicked in and I quickly countered with an Ice Javelin, piercing through the Necromancer's spell and defeating it once and for all.

The Orc Champion's fiery gaze dimmed, and I released my control over it. The Necromancer lay defeated, its body still and lifeless.

I took a deep breath, the smell of death and decay filling my nostrils.

The System's notification comes to announce my victory.
