Chapter 13 - ^ Ch 13: The Court'

Azure and Arzatious both went to the court, the meeting's date was informed to everyone 2 weeks before so that they could adjust their schedules for today.

Everyone knew that the heir of the Valdore dukedom was going to be coming today, but no one knew his name, appearance, etc.

Since Arzatious had forced Azure to wake up early, so it was only normal that they were the first to arrive, but because of going to the restaurant, the amplifier shop and not to mention the encounter with Iris Evelyn.. They weren't late but probably will be if they don't make it quick.

As they hurried through the streets, Azure kept glancing at the time. "We're going to be late!" he muttered, his pace quickening.

Arzatious chuckled, raising a hand. "Relax, my boy. I said teleportation, didn't I?" He snapped his fingers, and with a shimmering burst of light, they vanished from the bustling street.

In the blink of an eye, they reappeared at the grand entrance of the court. The enormous doors loomed before them, carved with intricate designs that showcased the legacy of the Valdore dukedom. Azure hesitated for a moment, adjusting his coat nervously.

"Don't fret, Azure. You've got this," Arzatious reassured him with a wink.

With a deep breath, Azure pushed open the heavy doors, and the two entered the grand hall. Inside, nobles, officials, and scholars murmured amongst themselves, the air thick with curiosity and tension.

As Azure stepped forward, the crowd's whispers intensified. He felt their eyes scanning him, trying to size him up. Arzatious stood confidently by his side, his presence commanding respect and silence.

A herald stepped forward, his voice echoing through the hall. "Presenting Azure, heir to the Valdore dukedom."

Gasps filled the room, followed by murmurs of astonishment. Azure's youthful appearance and calm demeanor surprised many, but he held his head high, determined to show his worth.

The council members seated at the front of the hall exchanged glances before the head councilman spoke. "Azure Valdore, you stand here as the heir to a title that carries immense responsibility. However, as you are not yet of age, we have reached a decision."

The hall fell silent, all ears on the councilman's words.

"You shall be sent to Horizon Academy, where you will receive the training and education required for someone of your station. Upon your graduation, you will formally take up the title and fulfill your duties as Duke of Valdore."

Azure felt a wave of relief and determination wash over him. The decision made sense, and it gave him the time to prepare for the role he was destined to take.

"Do you accept these terms?" the councilman asked, his gaze firm.

Azure stepped forward, his voice steady. "I do."

The councilman nodded. "Then it is decided. The meeting is adjourned."

As the nobles began to disperse, Arzatious placed a hand on Azure's shoulder, grinning. "See? Easy as pie."

Azure couldn't help but smile. This was just the beginning, and he was ready to face whatever lay ahead.
