The city of Rhune is the centermost part of Liang. It is a bustling metropolis cradled at the heart of civilization. People are constantly coming and going through crowded streets, specifically today, as it is the day when the Prince of Liang is set to be married.
It is a momentous celebration throughout the city and throughout the country of Liang. Liang has 24 cities and 26 towns, of which the city of Rhune stands at the center.
The royal family of Liang, The Aventos, has been of great renown. They are said to be kind at heart and great in service to the common people.
Today's event is like a payback from the common people towards the royalty. The decorations of black and blue adorned every house and almost everyone is wearing blue with a stripe of black cloth at their right sleeve. A stripe of black over blue is a symbol of respect towards the crown.
As of this moment, everyone is hurrying toward the city square where an announcer is present.
"Emman, if you're going to be a bit slower, I'll whoop your butt with a stick!" An auntie from room 11 in Everlast Inn was no exception.
This is Aunt Emma, she's not an important character. She just happened to be on the way of this story's cannon fodder.
Aunt Emma's son, Emman, is currently tying his shoelaces that came loose. He is crouching down in the middle of the inn's entryway, trying to quickly fix his shoelaces but failing to do so because his mother is constantly pulling on his right arm.
A loud sigh can be heard behind the pair of mother and son duo. "If you cannot get this vermin of a son out my way, I will be the one to whip you with a stick!"
Both mother and son, one still tugging on the arm of the other, turned back to the source of the voice. This was from a man wearing a black coat with no black or blue cloth adorning his right sleeve.
"What are you looking at? If you're not going to get out of my way, then I will make you!" The man stepped forward and used his right foot to push Emman out of the way.
"What vile thing! How dare you do that to my son?" Aunt Emma's anger was redirected to the man as she hurried close to her crying son.
The man just harrumphed as he walked past them. He hailed a carriage when he got to the streets.
"To the royal square," the man said after tossing the silver penny to the carriage driver.
"The royal square, Sir? But the announcer of the wedding is already on the city square. Only nobles are allowed inside the royal square."
The man chuckled and said, "No marriage will happen if I won't go to the royal square. Just hurry and don't ask." He again tossed another silver to the coachman and he leaned on the window of the carriage.
Two silvers are enough to shut up the driver. It is obviously not usual for him to receive two silvers for just one ride.
"It is good to be back again." The man in the carriage smiled. It is quite an idiotic smile as he's toying with the remaining silver penny on his palms.
Paying two silvers from Everlast Inn to the Royal Square is actually an overkill. Seven bronze pennies should have been enough as the royal square is just about two kilometers away from the inn, separated by a wheat field from the bustling metropolis. However, the man seemed to not mind spending much. The coachman also didn't seem to mind receiving more than what he deserved. If the man is indeed royalty, as he had assumed with what the man is wearing; an all-black outfit which is something only the royalty is allowed to wear. Otherwise, a commoner blatantly wearing black, especially on the royal square is like an act of suicide as only the royalties are allowed of this color.
Inside the carriage, a peculiar thing is happening. The remaining silver penny on his palm is levitating and his orbs are glowing red.
The man was just about to put the silver coin back in his pocket when the horses madly swerved right and went off track. The carriage stumbled through the wooden fence and the horses went braying, trying to get away from the carriage.
"A sorcerer! What bedevilment! Take back your silvers! Are you trying to harm the royal family?!" The coachman got his knee scraped on the fence when the horse went off track. Even then, he struggled to run limping away from the carriage shouting the words sorcerer! evil! and help me!
"Now, that is not a nice introduction of my character." The mandusted off his coat and waved his right hand towards the braying horses. In a moment, the horses stopped from braying, their eyes turned red as they looked at the man in black.
However, after about ten seconds, the reds from their eyes vanished and the two horses brayed even louder. One horse in particular, wildly struggled from its reins and it succeeded to break free. It went running fast after its master.
"Seriously?" The man sighed watching at the fleeing man and horse. He rubbed his hands and turned to the remaining horse still attached to its reins.
"Don't bother to flee. You will accompany me to the royal square," the man said to the remaining horse as he rubbed his two hands.
"It should work longer. It should work longer." He kissed his hands and rubbed them again before flicking his right hand towards the horse.
The horse's bray died on its throat as its eyes turned red.
The man counted to ten and sighed in relief when the horse stayed under his control.
"Okay. Let's do great things. Off to the royal square!" The man said as he sat astride the horse. However the horse didn't budge, it just kicked its right foot on the road.
"Fuck. You don't even have a saddle, now you won't even follow a simple instruction?" The man sighed again as he slapped the horse. "To the square!" He slapped the horse again and although it moved, so is the fallen carriage that is still attached to it.
"You stupid horse!" The man in black waved his right hand towards the carriage and the horse broke free.
"To the royal square!" The horse galloped as it finally headed his command. It ran fast the screaming coachman and the other horse.
"Ha! Now, my story begins."
Or so it seems.
