As the two colossal forces clashed—Azorthrax's immense power against the hordes of the undead—it became apparent that the Vampire Kingdom was at war with itself. Melisandre, Cyrios, and the remaining vampire factions were now locked in a deadly struggle for survival, while Vorax, though temporarily pushed back, prepared for his next move.
Azorthrax had become a force unto itself, almost godlike in its destructive capabilities. Whole legions of vampires fell under its sway, becoming mindless puppets of its will. However, it also attracted the attention of forces far beyond the vampire realm. The gates to higher dimensions opened, calling upon beings of unimaginable power that sought to control or destroy Azorthrax.
