Chapter 21 - Growth Spurt.

After his five hours sleep, he would receive another rank 1 minor blood pill from his mother and had to exercise for another three hours.

He did this every day for two months. Things changed after three months because of the development of his body.

He woke up feeling differently from how he normally feels. His body felt rejuvenated and full of energy like usual. But things seem to be off because he was tripping and breaking things when all he used was his normal grip.

Instead of leaving his bed gracefully, he fell from it, smashed his face onto the ground, and ripped his soft bedsheet when he tried to grab something to hold onto.

This reminded him of what had happened two years before when Mountain Karma first upgraded.

So he asked himself, "Have I had a breakthrough?"

There was one easy way to confirm, so he checked his stats.

MOUNTAIN SITTING DAO

2. ????: ------

Power: 2 × 2 (Mountain Karma)

Body: 1 >>> 2. Life Energy: 8 >>> 11

His mind and mental energy are still where they should be for a seven-year-old boy. But his body had increased to 2, and his life energy had improved to 11.

These were all changes that his increase that his second transformation had brought to him.

This is enough to make him trip and be unable to control his strength. But Mountain Karma had doubled his power and made it four. It is why his mind felt out of place with his new body.

He rubbed his chin thoughtfully, "It took me two months of dedicated exercise to reach the second transformation. But it feels like I have reached the fourth transformation and gained the power of a bodybuilder and professional athlete thanks to Mountain Karma."

"I wonder what else it has in store for me. But no matter what, it is clear that I need to put in more effort into raising my karma."

As he was deep in thought, someone rushed into his room. It was one of the two maids serving his mother. She also had a knife in her hand and was looking around warily.

She and the whole house had heard a loud noise coming from his room when he fell from his bed. It was so loud that it felt as if a grown man had entered his room.

She thought that a man had broken into the house, hence the knife she had in hand.

When she couldn't find any man, she rushed over to check up on him, "Young master, are you alright?"

He waved her away and said, "I'm fine."

He tried to stand, but he stumbled and fell. The maid grabbed him to keep him upright, but he was too heavy, so he dragged her down with him.

The two of them fell to the ground, speechless. It was at that point that his mother and the head cook entered the room.

His mother had a spear in her hand while the head cook had a large cleaver. The two of them searched his room looking for an intruder.

Lady Vena's eyes were sharp and focused as she asked him, "Did anyone enter your room?"

He shook his head. "There was no intruder. I just fell from my bed. Please help me up."

Lady Vena frowned and asked, "When did you become so lazy that you don't want to stand up by yourself?"

She also asked the maid, "What are you doing on the ground?"

The maid replied timidly, "The young master was too heavy. It caught me by surprise when I tried to help him up."

Lady Vena's face became solemn when she heard that. She said sternly to the maid, "Leave us now."

The maid bowed and rushed to exit the room.

Lady Vena dropped her spear to the wooden floor and bent down to check his body.

She squeezed the muscles of his arms, legs, neck, abdomen, and even his buttocks. Her squeezing was especially tight when she was checking his wrist and ankles.

Her eyes were closed when she was inspecting him. When she was done, she opened them and said to chief cook Brooks, who was standing guard with his cleaver, "Come here and check him for me, Brooks."

The cook said, "Yes, my lady."

He too bent down to check his body. But unlike his mother, he couldn't keep his face calm and expressionless. Arthur could see confusion and surprise in his expression as his face changed.

Eventually, he too was done with the inspection. He stood up, still confused.

Lady Vena asked with a whisper, "What do you think?"

He shook his head and replied in a quiet voice too, "I don't know what to say. He feels like a fourth transformation mortal, but he looks like a second transformation mortal."

The old man scratched his head with evident confusion and said, "He is weird."

Lady Vena looked at Arthur and said, "I just hope it is a good thing, not a problem."

Then she said to the head cook, "You may leave us, Brooks."

Brooks left, leaving the mother and son alone in the room.

She said to him, "You will remain in your room until you can control your strength. You will not tell anyone about the weirdness of your body. If anyone asks, just tell them that you're in the fourth transformation."

"You're smart, so I know that you understand what I am saying. But you must also obey me in this. If I find out that you told anyone about your special body, I will punish you and kill that person if I can. Even if that person is Gretel or Thompson, I'll kill them."

His eyes widened when he heard the last thing she said. He didn't need her motivation to know to keep his mouth shut, but he was still taken aback by the length she was willing to go to keep things a secret.
