Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: Little Gift

This was the first time Claudia had come home late in the day. When she stepped into the house, she saw that the shoes her husband usually wore were placed in the shoe cupboard. It was quite a relief to see her because today her husband didn't make any suspicious movements.

Because she had a lot of activities today, Claudia wanted to go to bed early. However, as usual Harry always kept himself hidden in the study room. Claudia walked quickly towards the study room while opening the door wide.

His eyes widened as he stared at the empty area that Harry had pointed to last night, now transformed into a large work desk equipped with a table lamp, small mirror and computer. Claudia didn't expect Harry to act this quickly, she even thought that yesterday Harry was just talking casually to make her happy for a moment.

Seeing his wife finally showing the bridge of her nose, Harry greeted her with a wry smile while folding his arms. "What are you doing?! You don't usually come home this late!"

Harry's shouting managed to make Claudia unable to walk. His eyes flashed shakily as he stared at the ceiling. "Is it true that I can't go home at night?"

Harry got up from the chair and walked slowly towards his wife. "You said to yourself that you don't dare sleep alone. That's why today I decided to go home early so I could accompany you to sleep. But, you're busy wandering around and don't appreciate me."

This time Claudia felt she had won. In the end, Harry was tame to her even though she used a shouting method that made his ears hurt. Claudia wanted to use this golden opportunity to seduce Harry. Her right hand lifted Harry's chin then pressed his lips to it.

"I'm sorry, next time I won't do it again." Momentarily raised the right eyebrow. "Didn't I give you a short message earlier that I would be home tonight?"

"At first I thought you wouldn't come home tonight. It turns out my guess was wrong."

"Then, where did you have dinner?"

Harry looked away with a red face. "I asked Thomas to cook my favorite food."

"Why don't you have dinner with your friends?"

Hearing the word friend, Harry burst out laughing until his face became even redder. "Since when do I have friends to have dinner with?"

What Harry said was completely true. Based on the storyline of the original novel, Harry has no friends and can only rely on Thomas wherever he goes. This was because he did not easily trust anyone, including palace ministers. Talking about Vivian, Harry never considered her a friend. However, until now it has not been revealed why Harry hates Vivian so much that he continues to avoid her. Will new theories emerge since Claudia marries Harry?

"Okay, starting tomorrow I will be your dinner companion. Don't just have dinner with Thomas. Then everyone will think you like the same sex."

Harry spontaneously took Claudia's hand as he led her to a work desk that was still neat and free of dust. "I kept my promise. Today I asked Thomas to order a special work desk for you. From now on, you don't have to knock every time you enter my room. You can come in."

Claudia smiled happily, hugging Harry's body while moving her body left and right. "Thank you for the gift, Harry. I love you more and more."

Seeing that his wife's behavior was very inelegant, Harry immediately showed a cold face again. He let go of the hug quickly while giving a thick book to his wife.

"I went to the bookstore earlier. I remember your attitude was very inelegant even though you are a noble woman. In exchange, I gave you this dictionary so that you would become the perfect woman in my eyes."

At first Claudia showed a happy face, now her face became gloomy when she looked at this thick book about how a woman looks perfect in the eyes of a man. Claudia was grateful that Harry was starting to show changes in his attitude, but that didn't mean demanding that she become a perfect woman like this annoying book guide.

"Are you kidding? Do you want me to read the entire dictionary?"

"It's for your own good, Claudia! I don't want everyone to look down on you!"

Claudia chuckled in annoyance while putting her hands on her hips. "Discussing me again is your weakness!"

"Anyway, I want you to read this book every night before bed every day."

"But-"

"Do I need to remind you of the contents of our contract?"

Remembering the punishment she would have to receive if she violated one of the terms of the contract, Claudia gave up her intention to fight her husband. She is determined to accept what is and study the contents of this dictionary by force.

"I'm not senile. No need for repeated reminders!"

Harry's eyes were fixed on the clock on the wall continuing to move. "You'd better take a shower first. I don't want to accompany you to sleep until dawn. Do I really not need to sleep?"

"Don't you have insomnia?"

Harry scratched his head while looking down. "To be honest, ever since I married you, I have been able to sleep peacefully."

Hearing this good news, Claudia smiled happily because she felt relieved that the method she used had finally succeeded in curing Harry's insomnia. If Harry continues to behave like this, will Claudia soon be free from the world of this annoying novel? Then, what about the fate of the Scarlet Community members who will disappear or die and the children of the Only Hope Orphanage? There are still many puzzles for Claudia to solve.

"Claudia, I hope you won't do anything stupid."

Listening to her husband's warning just now, Claudia frowned. Why did her husband suddenly warn her as if he knew about her secret mission? Was her husband secretly aware of her movements all this time?

"What do you mean?" Claudia asked with a trembling voice.

"Anyway, just listen to what I say! If you don't want someone to harm your life, you should just keep quiet!"
