Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Sign Contract

Claudia remembered the storyline of the original novel, many of which said that Harry killed one person every night. So, it's no wonder that many readers blasphemed Harry to the point of cursing Harry to really get his punishment worthy of his actions.

However, since she can now change the storyline of the novel as she pleases, she will no longer be afraid of any rumors about Harry's ugliness. Maybe she could change Harry's character into the main protagonist if she managed to conquer Harry's heart.

Claudia didn't show any fear. She patted Alice's shoulder casually. "You don't need to be afraid. From now on, I will protect you. As for Harry, I'll talk to him about it."

Alice frowned. "You're so fearless, Claudia! Even though I told you that important thing, you still dare to interact with him."

"Because I'm her lover. If she complies with my wishes, I'm sure her personality will definitely change."

"I think someone who is cruel, his attitude will not change that easily. Are you sure you can deal with him?"

"I'll bet." Claudia extended her right hand. "I want us to work together. I'm sorry that I've been avoiding you."

Alice laughed lightly while raising her bangs. "You're not acting like this because you're going to betray me one day, right? How can I trust you, Claudia? You're going to be a criminal's wife."

"You'll see for yourself after my wedding. I will protect you from someone. I'm sure you'll be in my corner."

"Someone? Who?"

Due to the fact that Claudia rarely talked to Alice, it was very difficult to persuade Alice to cooperate with her. Although this conversation was fruitless, Claudia would not give up wanting to protect Alice before she mysteriously disappeared.

The next day, as previously agreed, Claudia met her future husband at the office to sign the marriage contract. However, Claudia was not stupid enough to sign the contract right away. Her eyes were focused on reading the contract clauses one by one, to make sure there were no rules that Harry had changed or added without her knowledge.

"No clauses have been changed, take it easy," said Harry laughing awkwardly at Claudia reading the contents of the contract until she was too focused.

"I'm just being cautious. Just in case you add some weird clause that's detrimental to me."

Harry raised his right eyebrow and folded his hands. "Didn't you marry me because you trusted me? Why don't you trust me now when it's just about the contract?"

"Do you know why I suddenly don't trust you?" Claudia closed the leather folder for a moment. "Because you'll kill me if I break one of the contract rules. Is it true that your hobby is killing just anyone?"

Harry laughed contentedly like a demon possessed while patting his forehead. "It turns out you're a very innocent woman."

"If I sign the contract now, will you be honest with me now? Or should I make a contract too so that you obey my wishes?"

"No need. It's enough that the contract I make will make me be honest with you one by one. But, on the condition, you obey my wishes, then I will divulge all my secrets."

In order to protect everyone from any threats, Claudia immediately signed the contract while writing down one additional contract point related to what Harry had just said. "Anyway, you have to keep your promise just now. I also wrote it down manually so that you won't break the rules."

After signing the contract, Claudia placed the leather folder on the table, then wrapped both hands around his fiancé's burly body tightly. She buried her head in his broad chest as she slowly caressed him.

For the first time Harry felt the warmth of being embraced by his fiancée. His body froze in place, his hands unconsciously grasped his fiancé's lithe back with a surprised look on his face.

"I trust you, Harry."

Harry rounded his eyes, still keeping his arms around his fiancée's lithe body.

"Don't mind other people saying bad things about you. Although everyone hates you, I still care about you. Therefore, don't ever let me down," Claudia continued, putting on a pitiable face as she looked at Harry who seemed to be starting to melt.

"What if I really disappoint you one day?"

Claudia shook her head. "I'm sure you'll never let me down, because you're a good person in my eyes." Claudia was actually very reluctant to say it, but in order to conquer Harry's heart, she had to make up all these pearls.

Since listening to the sweet words spoken from his future wife, Harry couldn't control his heartbeat racing fast. His left hand clutched to his chest, he kept walking back and forth in his office to distract his mind. Moreover, he was not the type of man to easily melt listening to sweet phrases from a woman.

Drrt...drrt...

Luckily, his assistant contacted him in the nick of time. Staring at the clock on the wall it was getting late, it was time for him to do his nightly routine.

"Did you find the location?" asked Harry.

"I'll send you the address via chat."

The conversation was short-lived. Harry immediately changed his clothes into all black clothes. Then, he walked towards a hidden room that contained all sharp weapons. He took one of the sharp weapons, then hid it in his briefcase.

All the equipment had been put into the bag. Now he was getting ready to walk out of his private room while staring at the CCTV camera installed in the corner of the room. He nodded for a moment while looking at the camera as if he was interacting with someone who was monitoring him.

As he opened the door to his room, he was surprised to see his brother who suddenly wanted to enter this room.

Harris looked very covered up from head to toe. "Where are you going at this time of night?"
