Alpha Julian bluntly tells Teresa, "I'm afraid I can't do that at this time."
Teresa's ire begins to slowly rise even further as she retorts with an underlying flippant tone...
"And why can't you ... last I recall you were the alpha of the Rainier Pack. ... You still are the alpha, aren't you?" She pauses a brief moment before quipping in a more evident flippant manner, "Or have the inmates here finally taken over the asylum?"
The delta immediately takes offense to this apparent insolence towards the alpha ... even more so than the alpha himself ... and brusquely interjects...
"Seriously, you better watch yourself, you impudent she-wolf! As if disrespecting Elder Chandler wasn't bad enough, you now dare to speak to our alpha in such an insolent manner? It's inconceivable to me how a she-wolf of your supposed high-ranking could disrespect this pack's leader ... your very own brother no less. You should count your blessings that you have such a magnanimous brother, because if I was alpha and you were my sister, and you spoke to me in that manner, I wouldn't think twice about having that wickedly sharp tongue of yours cut out of that foul mouth of yours."
Delta Colin has always held Teresa in contempt, even long before her desire to take in the perceived rogue she-wolf and dampyrs, mostly due to Teresa's favorable attitude towards and frequent interaction with witches; especially with the neighboring Raven Coven, who were the ones who helped with the arrangements to have the three 'refugees' become Teresa's adopted children.
Centuries ago, the delta's ancestors had some not so favorable experiences with witches - grant it the offenses were dealt out equally from both sides - and ever since then, generations of his family were raised with a hatred for witches instilled within them. In fact, Delta Colin's grandfather always used to say that 'The only good witch is a dead witch'. This was their family's creed regarding witches.
Of course, the proverbial 'straw that broke the camel's back', which skyrocketed the delta's disdain towards Teresa, occurred a couple of months after the 'attempted assassination' targeting her brother.
When they were in their teens, just as the previous Alpha Walter was holding a ceremony to officially announce Julian as the next successor to the position of alpha of the Rainier Pack, a rogue wolf who managed to infiltrate their territory charged at Julian with a large hunting knife; then, when close enough, lunged at the next alpha with the intent of plunging the ten-inch steel blade into his chest. Teresa, who was standing off to the side of Julian at the time, witnessed the assailant coming for him; and without hesitation leaped in the assailant's path and took the intended fatal strike in her own stomach ... thus, saving her brother's life.
Teresa was critically injured, and it was touch-and-go during her surgery. She eventually pulled through, but unfortunately not without suffering from severe life-altering repercussions. The blade's serrated edge tore apart her uterus, leaving her unable to bear children of her own. This devastated Teresa, who ever since she was a child herself had always longed for the day when she'd be able to have children.
And as if that wasn't bad enough, the fact that she would never be able to produce heirs placed her in an unfavorable opinion of every male-wolf in the pack, deeming her as an undesirable mate. So, from that point on, Teresa was ignored as a possible romantic interest.
Determined not to spend the rest of her life alone void of any affection, Teresa chose to consider female partners instead of the traditionally accepted male companions.
This might have been better received if wasn't for the fact that the first ... and to this day only ... female she was ever attracted to in a romantic way, and would be willing to accept as her mate, was a witch from Raven Coven.
This really irked Delta Colin; and he is currently forced to be reminded of this 'abomination', in his eyes, every time he sees that 'wretched' she-wolf rogue. When she was first brought there, the child had no name ... at least none that was known ... so, Teresa named her after her first true love, Sasha; the namesake that has become a perpetual 'thorn in the delta's side'.
Tragically, after six blissful years of a loving relationship, which was frowned upon by most of the Rainier Pack ... especially Delta Colin and his family ... Sasha was killed in a most suspicious car accident. An accident which until this very day Teresa is adamantly convinced that the delta had a role in a conspiracy behind causing said 'accident'.
And with this being the case, Teresa in turn holds a considerable amount of contemptuous disdain for the delta as well; possibly even more so. So, Teresa sharply turns to Delta Colin and malevolently glares at him with those fiercely piercing 'dagger-throwing' eyes ... along with an added conveyance of repugnance mixed in for good measure ... then unabashedly rebukes the delta...
"No, you better watch yourself, Colin. I only grabbed 'Elder Butt-in-sky's' over there collar and threatened to beat him. If you continue to piss me off, I'd have no problem giving you a full-on beatdown. And I promise you this; neither Julian's commands as alpha nor Gamma Ray's trying to get in my way will stop me from pounding you into the ground."
Believing that she had just basically emasculated him in front of the alpha and everyone else there, an infuriated Delta Colin starts to snap...
"Look here, you insufferable..."
But he's abruptly cut off by an even more infuriated Teresa...
"Oh, for the love of the Moon Goddess; your dumb ass just isn't getting it, is it? Fine ... then allow me to explain in a more simplistic way that even you can understand. ... Fuck with me and I'll fuck you up!! ... Get it now? Stay out of my business."
This outburst leaves everyone there, including the alpha himself, speechless. And, after a moment of tension-filled, uneasy silence, Teresa once again unwaveringly repeats her demand in no uncertain terms...
"Julian, release my daughter; now."
The alpha lets out an exasperated huff before once again repeating in no uncertain terms...
"Teresa, I can't do that."
There's another moment of tension-filled, uneasy silence before Teresa resolutely declares...
"Fine ... since you can't; I will." Then, while conveying an ominous aura that begins to chill them to their very core, Teresa menacingly tells Alpha Julian, "And, if anyone gets in my way, I promise you this, brother; they will receive nothing less than the full extent of my wrath."
Then, after pausing briefly to allow the alpha to stew over her promise; Teresa forebodingly warns Alpha Julian...
"For the last time, Julian; either you release Sasha right now ... or come tomorrow, you just may not have a single defense sentry left standing." She turns to the gamma and warns him, "That includes you too, Ray, if you decide to get in my way."
