Chapter 18 - Unison Architectures

An incredible yet visibly upset women was storming through the halls of a steel fortress. Her frustration made visible with the angry vein popping in her forehead, and the top half of her face turning red from fury.

As she passed through several automatic doors made of thick steel, she eventually came upon one room which was as wide as a small town.

It had no ceiling so the sky and sun could be seen from its insides, while its depths seemed bottomless and infinite. At the centre was a tall rocket ship which also seemed to be as long as that bottomless void with several long bridges connecting to it, and a couple other engineers in dirty orange overalls working on it.

One of the engineers then shouted in glee,

"Woah! Ms Harkness is back!"

A bunch of the engineers started to cheer as they all gathered towards her. The others who were on separate bridges, just looked from a distance while intensely waving, hoping to catch her attention.

"Move out the way!"

With just one punch an entire wave of engineers were sent flying away. Some fell down onto other bridges, and other unfortunate ones... fell into the abyss. Rather than complaining however... they seemed happy.

Their reason? Well... unlike everyone else, Julianne was the only woman there who wore the uniform with the zip down, revealing her quite big breasts which were barely being held back by a sports bra.

Of course, being one of the few women in this place, it made her quite a sight to behold. And even then, her beauty was probably unmatched despite the dirty place she was working in.

Julianne just quickly barged through the rest as she ran to the other side of the room. Even then, she was being relentlessly chased by hundreds more men who were even jumping down from bridges above.

'Idiots!! All of them, idiots!!'

After some time spent running, Julianne arrived to a single steel sliding door that slowly opened for her. The inside was dark, but once she took her first steps inside, the automatic lights illuminated the place.

The inside was a spacious bedroom made out of grey steel walls. Despite that however, there was bed decorated in pink, with fluffy teddies and love heart shaped pillows with a certain stupidly hot Korean man sewn into it.

Julianne quickly jumped onto the bed while breathing a heavy sigh of relief. She hugged the love heart pillow, tightly to her chest as she then said,

"Junghook my beloved~ I may be surrounded by idiots, but your the only one that may ever have my heart~"

A child like voice then said,

"Your talking to that stupid pillow again?"

She looked around surprisingly, and then quickly deduced that it was coming from the love heart shaped rug in the middle of the room.

She grabbed one of her pillows and then strengthened it with Refinement, before throwing it at the centre of the rug. Thanks to her Aether, it now carried the weight of a steel brick.

As the object hit an invisible object in the centre of that rug, the same child voice shouted from pain.

The child was wearing what appeared to be a sort of invisible cloak. As they jumped up from the pain, the cloak fell off revealing the person underneath, with a pile of high tech looking stuff in front of him.

He had short but purple hair much like his older sister. It was tied upwards in a top ponytail with a black band keeping it together. He had light blue eyes hidden behind a pair of goggles. Much like everyone else in this facility, he was wearing orange overalls, although his were sized down to fit him.

"Ow! What did you do that for??"

"I told you stop coming in my room goddamnit!!"

"This is the only place that I can get in my flow though..."

"I don't care! Get out!"

As the boy stood up, he took off his goggles, revealing the two moles under his right eye. Although he was very young, it was obvious he was going to grow up to be a beautiful as his sister one day.

"Fine!"

The boy quickly got up and collected his things, before quickly leaving. As the doors slid open though, someone who was about to knock on it was standing there.

He had dark shaggy hair with a rather timid yet plain looking face but had very sharp teeth. Much like everyone else, he also wore the orange overalls, but the top half was hanging loosely unworn, exposing the dirty white vest he was wearing and skinny build. Unlike everyone else in the whole facility, he alone wore thick brown gloves.

"Hey uh— can I speak to Ms Harkness?"

"Hmph!"

The young boy just barged past him as he trotted off into the distance. With a sigh, the dirty looking boy entered the room.

"Uh.. Viole seems very.. active today doesn't he?"

"He's always like that. Once he matures, maybe he'll finally stop acting like a child, although I highly doubt that."

Viole Harkness, is younger brother of Julianne Harkness. Despite his young age, his technological genius rivalled, and even threatened to surpass his sisters. It was with this mind that he created the first true invisibility cloak.

While others could only reflect light causing a weird distortion to appear in the place of the object, Violes cloak had light phase through it completely. This granted him true invisibility.

Once Julianne took a good look at the boy, he realized something.

"Hey? Your that new apprentice.. Mu Deng... wasn't it?"

Mu Deng seemed very glad and started to bow.

"Wow you remembered my name!"

"Of course I do, I never forget a face! Anyhow, what do you want?"

Despite calling her younger brother out for being childish as he should be, Julianne was very much as arrogant as one herself. Mu Deng then pointed to the PC in the corner of Julianne's room.

"Can I use it? The Satellite over united Korea is acting up, and I can't access it without the Master Key in your computer."

After Borrowers appeared... well.. the flickering war although the biggest, it wasn't the only war to break out because of Borrowers. The first countries to take advantage of their appearance were the communist countries like China and North Korea.

While all the other countries were busy handling their internal conflicts, North Korea was one of the first to properly get their Borrowers under control. Using their powers, they took over South Korea in just 1 month.

A couple years and some war crimes later, the new United Korea was allowed to exist as long they kept out of global politics and etc. The satellite above them which was tasked with observing them is handled by the Unison council, specifically, the branch of engineers under them known as Unison Architectures.

Julianne's computer was special as it stored all the important documents, such as her confidential data, master keys and access permissions to all of the specialized unison technologies, like the satellite above United Korea, Orbital cannon Stellar, and a certain prison cell.

"Yeah, sure, whatever. Just don't touch anything else, I'm going to take a nap..."

In just a couple moments, she quickly fell asleep, greatly surprising Mu Deng.

'That meeting must've made her very exhausted...let's just get this done quickly before she wakes up.'

Mu Deng walked over to the PC which was situated on a ordinary desk with a pink chair. He embarrassingly sat on it before turning it on. Unsurprisingly, there was a password.

'Oh.'

He was about to wake Julianne up, but then discovered a sticky note which was poorly hidden under the keyboard. Unveiling it, he was shocked to see that it was the password to the computer.

'The most important computer in this city, and it's password is hidden under its keyboard...'

Despite how important Julianne was, it was blatantly obvious she was incredibly lazy.

Mu Deng quickly logged into to her account, and noted something strange. The computer's Operating System was unlike any he had worked with before, with it having a strange UI in a language he couldn't even understand.

'What the hell?'

Confused, he pulled out a red USB from his pocket which he tried to plug into one of the computers ports, but then a crackle of electricity popped it out immediately as it electrocuted him too.

Mu Deng fell out of his seat and onto the floor, as he cried out in pain. Being awakened by his cries, Julianne weakly woke up.

"Did you try to plug something in? You foooool... that's the most secure computer in the city.. no! The world! The only thing that can be plugged in is the power cord, HDMI, and the decryption key that can translate everything on that computer. Without it, it is useless..."

'Why didn't you tell me that in the first place then??? Did she wait for me to get shocked??"

Nervously he asked,

"Can I have the decryption key then?"

But he didn't get a response back. He got up and walked over to Julianne, only to see that she was still sleeping. It turns out, she was in fact talking in her sleep.

"Wa-wait! Junghook! You can't play games on it~"

Mu Deng just looked at her with disgust before leaving the room. This was a side most people hadn't seen of her, after all.
