Alisa still can't believe Max brought HER to dinner the other night. They way Max spoke to her like she was invading on his time. She had hope to speak with Max before later that day when she stopped by after dropping Tanner off. She tried appealing to Wade's more primal side hoping he would tell her where Max was, but he's turned her down, hard. It was embarrassing and cruel the way he said no to her face. She was pissed because she had just confessed her feelings for him as his mate walks over taking him away.
Phil only spoke to her when he needed something and never really spoke with her. Her twin was a very reserved person who didn't feel much of anything and always stuck to Max like glue as his aide. She didn't know what they worked together on, but they see each other regularly because anytime she would drop by with a meal or a snack for Max, Phil always seemed to be in the room or just walking in. It aggravated her to no end when she hoped to have some alone time with Max.
When Alisa did get the chance to spend time with Max they always had the greatest of fun. Talking about our interests and sharing our job choices. He always spoke about how he wanted to be just like father a strong well mannered Alpha King well versed in business and clan relations. Even when he went away to university to study business he always messaged often asking how she was and talking about what he looked forward to when he was King. She though he was his best friend and possibly my mate. Royals have mated before usually forced, but some by choice. As close as they are she had hoped when Alisa was older he would see her more as a woman not just his little sister.
However, there were times his eyes wondered to the window when she walked by. Or he turned his head as she passed in the halls at which time she would trip or signal one of my maids to make her "cause an accident". She'd be punished immediately as they walked off or slapped her for the mistake. Once when when Alisa was 13 years old Lily was carrying a bunch of books and couldn't see passed them to see in front of her. Alisa let her foot slip and tripping Lily causing all the books to call on the floor. Some papers scattered everywhere while she looked so panicked at the mess. "What a cluts! Your supposed to be doing work for Father not falling over your feet. Clean this up Father hates to be kept waiting,"she said seeing Max at the door to his office then walking in. "Keep your head down! He is the prince and I, a princess! Your nothing, but a ward of the family, a charity case. Remember your place!" Alisa shouted storming off into Max's office. HE didn't saying anything, and continued on with work as if nothing happened.
Gaining his attention was impossible after he left for school aside from the texts we exchanged. He always kept me at arms length and viewed me as his little sister, but that's not how Alisa felt. Didn't that count for something, even to him? Bring a mate in seemed like a good idea and her friend Tanner Hilcrest was a good choice as he was a good looking wolf from a wealthy family. We became friends with benefits in college and remained friends after graduation. When she explained to him the idea he seemed all for it and said he'd help in exchange for a favor. He didn't name the favor, but if it was within her power Alisa would do it. Bringing him to the family dinner seemed as good a time as any to see if Max had any spark of interest. And he didn't disappoint as he didn't look happy to see Tanner at all. He stared daggers at him all through dinner, then when she went to move to the living room he pulled me to the side hall caging her against the wall, "Is he for real your mate? Are you sure? You know there's no rush. You have all the time in the world why look for a mate now?" he asked cupping her face affectionately.
He had no idea what his touch was doing to nor how it made her feel. Trying to come to her senses saying, "He's my choice. Who else am I going to choose? If its the Goddess's will who are you to say anything?" Pushing him to say what he seemed afraid to say he turned and walked off. Leaving her in a dazed and confused not knowing what he really meant. Walking into the living room she sat next to Tanner who took her hand showing his support. Even when Max shows up with someone he still makes time for her. Even when Max left with Lily he seemed to want to speak more which gave her heart hope. Just....a little longer. He'll come to me.
