Chapter 5 - Little Shop

'I am back~' Lucia's cheerful demeanor entered the room before she was within eye sight of the empty room. She there the rainbow of clothes onto the bed before running to the bathroom. Empty. Her eyes latched onto the window which was completely open.

'Meow.'

Her gaze shifted to the black cat that crept from under the bed, its paw was tied with the metal chain that had been sowed into the hospital gown. Lucia's hair dropped as she retrieved her wand from the bun she had been rocking.

'Who even wears stuff like this?' Priscilla questioned herself trying to straighten out the pencil skirt she quickly threw herself in. The black blouse fit well with the white shirt and tie she had found lying in a backpack. She had yet to remove the hospital tag on her wrist, it wasn't like she wasn't going to return, just a small outing to clear her head.

In such a short amount of time she was introduced to so many seemingly important people, they seemed nice but she knew the dangers of being too trusting. Priscilla shook her head trying to forget the incident at school, right now she had one goal in mind, to get some food in her stomach. To her right were restaurants of Italian origin, to her left were more Asian themed fast food joints, with many options and the smells were intoxicating it was hard to decide.

'Screw it!' She jumped into a small pizzeria, the walls were decorated with newspaper articles dating back almost thirty years. Statues and awards were hung on the crammed walls of the establishment. A counter displaying seven different types of pizzas separated her and the teenager who had fallen asleep on duty. Between the lack of customers and the ancient articles, she could guess that this place wasn't popular anymore.

'Ahem!' She cleared her throat, trying to wake up the sleeping teenager.

'AHEM!' Once more, it seemed like a frog was stuck in her throat, but the boy didn't budge.

'Must be one hell of a dream if you can't wake up when someone raises their voice.' She giggled taking her time on what to choose.

'Pepperoni or maybe Ham...'

'I would get the ham if I were you, this place knows how to season it well.' Her head snapped, a young man dressed in all black with faint yellow eyes crept up behind her. Priscilla felt as though they had met before, but he would recall such a handsome guy.

'H-ham you say? Well, might as well give it a chance.' She tried not to sound intimated but she wasn't used to being alone with anyone, let alone with an attractive man. 'But it's not like I can order when this guy is asleep.'

'That shouldn't be much of an issue.' Spoke the tall man. He wrapped around the counter and stood beside the sleeping employee, an idea had popped in his head. A container of water found its way into his hands and as a miracle, there was a tsunami onto the sleeping boy.

'Wah?! What the hell?' The blond-headed kid looked around, a girl stood in the middle of the store. A taller man stood beside him with a smile from ear to ear and a blue plastic box that was dripping wet.

'That's what you get for sleeping on the job. Idiot.' His long legs crept around the counter again finding himself beside Priscilla, he bent over to look at her face, he loved her little smirk enough to speak even more. 'The name is Noir, I take it you are...?'

'Priscilla.' She tucked her hair behind her ear.

'Aaahh what a beautiful name Priscilla. It was fate that led us together on this fine Wednesday!' Noir knelt on the ground acting like an actor from a Shakespearean play, clearly, he had a screw loose, or maybe a dozen. But at least he made Priscilla laugh.

'Blond Boy! Fetch me the finest slice of ham you have in stock! Chop chop!' The blond sighed, rising from his spinny chair and grabbing the pizza spoon to take a large slice of ham pizza which he threw in the oven for a minute.

Priscilla was glad Noir had done that for her but she was still a little wary about his true intentions, a guy had never come so close to her without impure intentions, let alone a really hot guy. But for the moment she decided not to pay it much mind, there wasn't much he could do on a street so densely populated.

After Priscilla retrieved the slice from the half-awake blond boy, Noir slapped some change onto the counter, she wanted to protest but remembered she didn't have any money with her in the first place. This turned out to be better than she thought, at least this guy was a gentleman.

Noir headed through the door first, bowing and making a gesture with his arms to make her feel important, as weird as it was, no one batted an eye at them. Priscilla really was invisible to others, even someone being extra couldn't drown out her normal-ness. She loosely walked around the busy pathway, munching her slice hungrily, Noir not far behind.

His eyes wandered to the tree line, waiting for something, no...dreading someone's arrival. A deep breath flooded his lungs as he ran up to grab Priscilla's arm, she looked confused with a little tomato sauce on her cheek. But she didn't push him away. 'Why don't we head inside this store.' He pointed at the window pane just beside her, the insides covered in velvet drapes and strange objects.

'Lead the way then.' Priscilla rubbed her face, before following him through the door. Three chimes rang, and the two walked around the store inspecting random objects. Crystal balls, bottles of various colours, nothing normal in sight. Well, aside from a little red stand that held up countless greeting cards for different occasions. She picked one that said ''Get Well Soon'', funny since she was already out and about through the town.

Her fingers ran across a long-handled broom, feathers making up the head instead of plastic or hay that you would find normally. 'Hey look at these!' Noir called out to her, in his hands was a deck of tarot cards, the package was barely kept together by an old wooden box. One of the hinges on the back is broken missing five of the 6 screws, otherwise, it was beautifully decorated in gold plating and rubies that formed a moon, and a little nameplate on the front that read ''Red Moon Deck''.

Priscilla took the box out of his hands and looked around further for any other cool details, sadly that was it. The key in the lock clicked, and a little note fell out with pictures of all of the cards, some were scratched out and with a little doodle at the bottom was written ''Missing 'The World' Card''.

'Well that's a bummer, guess they can't be used.' Noir placed his hands on the back of his head as he wandered around looking for anything else that seemed cool. His carefree nature was something Priscilla was starting to get annoyed with. She shook her head and returned her gaze to the beautiful poly pockets filled with cards, her hand gravitated toward the major arcana.

The button popped as she opened and pulled a card at random, in her hand sat the Tower card, though this meant nothing to her, it was her first time holding a tarot card. She slipped it back inside quickly before an old woman began talking. 'Oh. Deary me, some customers. How can I help you today?'

She sat on a cushioned tall chair and opened and turned on the electronic cash register, the smell of old musty notes filled the room. 'Cough Cough.' Priscilla and Noir swiped through the air trying to clear the dust and not suffocate. The elderly lady lit some candles that sat onto a small glass wardrobe with wooden accenting.

'Now that I am comfortable, how may I help you? Is it those tarot cards that you are looking to buy?' Priscilla looked down and quickly objected. 'Oh no sorry, I don't have any money. Just doing some window shopping.'

'There is no need to be so coy. You look like a sweet girl, I can loan them to you and you can come and pay me back at a later date. What do you think about that?' She supported her head with her thin arm, a newspaper had found its way onto the glass counter.

'A-alright.' Priscilla placed the wooden box onto the glass counter carefully, the older lady had pulled out a fabric bag for her to use. 'Don't trip on the way out' She had wanted to talk more to Priscilla but the time wasn't yet ripe.

Noir and Priscilla walked out of the store, he had made some kind of crude joke that was out of earshot of the older lady. She turned around toward a velvet armchair in the corner of the room, the invisibility blanket that had been covering her slipped off and revealed Lucia.

'You two would have gotten along together.' Lucia remarked as she walked behind the counter, her fingers running across the little note that Priscilla had left behind with the scratched-out cards. The world card was completely covered in ink that vanished with the wave of her hand.

On the card appeared the crying face of Priscilla.
