{Chapter: 115 Meeting Alice}

Night. Desert.

A small campfire crackled softly under the starry sky, its light casting long shadows across the barren sands. A faint voice crackled from a nearby radio:

"This is the Claire Redfield team, broadcasting to all survivors. We're located at the Desert Boat Motor Inn, latitude 35, longitude 114. Can anyone hear me? Repeat, is anyone out there?"

A hand reached out and silenced the radio. It was Alice. Her expression was calm yet guarded as she flipped through the worn notes she'd collected from an abandoned gas station earlier that day. Her sharp eyes skimmed over the contents once more before she closed the notebook, letting out a soft sigh. Slowly, she lay down on the ground, her body tense as she reluctantly surrendered to the pull of sleep.

---

High above, two figures hovered silently in the night sky, concealed in the darkness.

"You're not planning to peep on Alice while she's sleeping, are you, you creep?" a woman's voice teased, her tone low but sharp.

The man beside her smirked. "Do I look like that kind of person? Besides, what's so interesting about her sleeping? If it were you, though... well, that's a different story entirely."

"Shameless," the woman muttered, turning her face away to hide her annoyance.

The duo was none other than William and Jill. They had stumbled upon Alice's camp as they passed through the area, choosing to observe from the sky.

"You're impossible," Jill said, her voice tinged with frustration.

William's gaze remained fixed on Alice below. A sly grin spread across his face. "Just wait. Things are about to get interesting."

"What are you talking about?" Jill asked, her curiosity piqued.

"You'll see soon enough," William replied cryptically. "Telling you now would ruin the surprise."

Jill huffed in annoyance but turned her attention to the scene below.

Alice, still asleep, began to stir. Her body twitched slightly, and her head shifted from side to side as if caught in the throes of a vivid dream. Then, without warning, the small stones around her began to rise into the air, trembling as if drawn by an unseen force.

"What the—?" Jill whispered, her voice now tinged with concern.

Larger rocks followed, hovering unnaturally, and finally, Alice's motorcycle lifted off the ground, suspended in midair.

"What's happening to her?" Jill asked, her tone uneasy.

"Her mind is shared with someone in a simple way you could say she's connected," William said casually.

"Connected? To what?"

"To herself," William replied, his tone cryptic.

Jill frowned, more confused than before. "What do you mean, 'to herself'?"

Before William could answer, Alice's eyes snapped open, a sharp glint of awareness cutting through the haze of sleep. The floating stones plummeted to the ground with a loud crash, followed by her motorcycle, which split in half under the impact.

Alice bolted upright, her gun already in hand, scanning her surroundings with laser focus.

"Damn it," she muttered under her breath, her frustration evident.

Her sharp gaze shifted upward, locking onto the sky. "I can feel you. Come out."

William chuckled softly. "Sharp as ever, Alice. I wasn't even trying to hide."

Alice's expression darkened as she recognized the voice. Her body tensed as William descended gracefully from the sky, with Jill following close behind, cradled in his arms.

"William," Alice growled through gritted teeth, her voice dripping with venom.

"Ah, Yes it's me. Alice. It's been too long," William said with a smug grin, planting his feet firmly on the ground.

Jill offered a faint smile. "Alice, it really has been a while."

Alice's eyes narrowed. "Jill. I didn't expect to run into you here of all places."

"Alice, I've missed the old days—the times we spent together back in Raccoon City," William said wistfully, a mockery of sentiment in his voice.

Alice glared at him coldly. "I don't share your nostalgia. All I've ever wanted is to kill you."

"Such hostility, such cural words," William said with a theatrical sigh, placing a hand over his chest. "You wound me, Alice."

"You didn't come here to reminisce," Alice said sharply.

William nodded, his grin widening. "True. But what's the harm in a little chat? Maybe we could share a drink, talk under the stars, and enjoy the moment?"

Jill rolled her eyes, clearly unimpressed. "Can you stop being ridiculous for once?"

Alice raised her gun, aiming it squarely at William. "There's no point in talking. I'm going to kill you."

Jill stepped forward, her own weapon drawn and pointed at Alice. "Put the gun down, Alice."

Alice chuckled darkly. "So, you're on his side now, Jill?"

"Say what you want, but I won't let you harm him," Jill replied coolly.

William gently pushed Jill's weapon down, his smile never wavering. "Ladies, ladies. There's no need for violence. Let's be civilized, shall we?"

"Civilized?" Alice scoffed. "You, of all people, want to act civilized?"

William's smile grew sharper. "You should know by now that you can't kill me, Alice."

Alice's lips curled into a defiant smirk. "I'm not the same as I was in Raccoon City."

"I know," William said, taking a slow step forward. "You've grown stronger, but you're still no match for me."

"Let's find out," Alice said, firing her weapon.

William's figure blurred, vanishing from his spot and reappearing a moment later in a different location. Only a faint afterimage lingered where he had been.

Alice's eyes widened. His speed was far beyond anything she'd encountered before—so fast it was nearly imperceptible.

"Alice, you can't beat me," William's voice echoed in her ear.

Sweat beaded on her forehead as she spun around, launching a fierce kick at the space behind her.

"Pointless," William said, effortlessly catching her leg.

Alice drew two knives from her back and slashed at him, her movements swift and precise.

But William's pupils shifted, a strange energy radiating from him. Invisible force rippled outward, stopping her blades mid-swing.

"No way," Alice muttered, straining against the unseen barrier.

"Against me, nothing is impossible," William said with a casual shrug.

With a sudden burst of power, Alice was flung backward, hitting the ground hard. She groaned, struggling to push herself up, her body aching from the impact.

Breathing heavily, she fixed William with a defiant glare. "That power... it's the same as mine, isn't it?"

William's smirk deepened. "You're finally catching on, Alice."
