Kian hadn't left Adrian's office yet.
He knew he should. Knew that every extra second he lingered made things more complicated. The office was quiet enough that no one had noticed yet, but that wouldn't last.
And still—he didn't move.
Adrian was watching him carefully, like he was waiting for something.
For Kian to break the tension. For him to make a decision.

And that terrified Kian more than anything.
Adrian tilted his head slightly, his sharp gray eyes darkening. "You're thinking too much."
Kian huffed, shaking his head. "That's rich, coming from you."
Adrian smirked, stepping closer. "I think plenty. I just don't hesitate."
