Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: A Risky Deal

Chapter 30: A Risky Deal and mysteries mission.

---

They are very important for a cultivator. Kent thinks about it again. Ethan said.

Kent takes a step back and makes a sad face. Try to create some tension, then he says.

Alas! Do you think I don't know how important and precious these spiritual stones are?

I am an orphan and I have a little sister. We only rely on my stall which is set up before school to live. You don't know how hard it is for us to survive all this time.

I am teaching her in home school till now. But this year I am planning to admit her in school. I need a lot of money for that. You know after spiritual energy revival how tough people's lives had become.

Ethan said but what about your cultivation? How will you cultivate? Your progress will be very slow.

I really don't have time to focus on my cultivation. I have no luxury to do that. I have to make a living for me and my sister. Most of the time I work, I don't have time to cultivate.

So it doesn't matter if I use the spiritual stones or not. My progress will always be slow. See today I level up all of sudden.

Don't worry I will do some more arm wrestling with Ryan to level up further if I get stuck. You are also here aren't you.

You can also help me by doing arm Wrestling sometimes.

We will get spiritual stones next month. I will use those for cultivation.

"Damn it, how long do I have to convince him. Just agree to my request already."

Ethan said. Sigh! I will help. Meet me after school. I will take you to a secret place. Three we will sell the Stones. After that if there is any left I will buy it.

"Kent smirks. 😏" Plan success.

Nailed it.

Do you have a bank account? We need a secret bank account. These spiritual stones cost a hefty amount. Nowadays one piece is going for 'FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS'.

Kent gets a shock hearing the price. 🫨

"50 Thousand Dollars. I never have over 500 Dollars in my account. With this money give Nima the best life, which she deserves."

"No wonder Nexus and watchers use military level security to bring these spiritual stones to the school."

"If someone stole one box. It will be like millions of dollars lost in an instant."

I don't have a secret bank. Is there a problem if I use my real bank account? Kent asked.

There is no problem but sometimes. But if some from the Nexus Investigate you. How will you answer about the money?

Kent said. Nobody will care about an orphan boy. I guess I won't have any problems. It's a crime to check someone's personal information.

+99 SP copied from Ethan.(Surprised)

Ethan doesn't know how to respond to that. By going to Black market selling the stones they are breaking the rule.

Then he says, OKAY 🆗!!

After school, Kent and Ethan met behind the academy's back gate, away from prying eyes. Ethan looked around nervously, adjusting his glasses.

(For Disguise he wear the glasses) 🕶️

"You sure about this, Kent?" Ethan whispered. "The black market isn't a joke. One wrong move, and we could be in serious trouble."

Kent smirked, patting Ethan on the back. "Relax, Ethan. We're just selling some stones, not smuggling ancient relics."

Ethan rolled his eyes. "Spiritual stones are practically ancient relics in Dragon County. Nexus and Watchers keep a tight grip on them. If they find out, we're toast."

"Then let's make sure they don't find out," Kent said confidently.

Ethan sighed. "Alright, follow me. I know someone who can help us."

Ethan led Kent through the winding alleys of Metro City, past bustling marketplaces and quiet, shadowed corners.

Eventually, they reached a small herbal shop with a faded sign that read "Herb Haven."

Ethan knocked on the door three times, paused, and knocked twice more.

The door creaked open, revealing a middle-aged man with sharp eyes and a scar running down his cheek. He looked them up and down before stepping aside.

"You brought an unknown kid?" the man asked, his voice gruff.

Ethan cleared his throat. "He's the one selling the stones, Mr. Fang. I'm just here to make sure everything goes smoothly."

Mr. Fang's eyes narrowed as he scrutinized Kent. "You don't look like someone who'd have spiritual stones. Where'd you get them?"

Kent grinned, holding up the pouch of stones. "Let's just say I'm good at collecting things."

Fang smirked, motioning for them to follow him inside.

The shop's interior was dimly lit, with shelves lined with jars of dried herbs and mysterious powders. Fang led them to a hidden room behind a sliding panel, where a small table and two chairs waited.

"Show me the goods," Fang said, sitting down.

Kent placed the five stones on the table, their white, crystalline surfaces glinting faintly in the light. Fang picked one up, inspecting it closely.

"These are high-quality stones," Fang said, nodding appreciatively. "Where'd you say you got them?"

Kent shrugged. "Let's just say I have connections."

Fang raised an eyebrow but didn't press further. "Alright, I'll give you 240,000 Dollars for the lot."

"240,000?!" Kent exclaimed, leaning forward. "These are worth way more than that! You're trying to rip me off!"

Fang smirked, leaning back in his chair. "You're lucky I'm even offering that much, kid. The risk of selling these stones is huge. Nexus and Watchers have eyes everywhere."

Ethan nudged Kent, whispering, "240,000 is actually a good deal, Kent. Let's not push our luck."

Kent frowned but nodded reluctantly. "Fine. Deal."

As Fang transferred the money to Kent's bank account, the sound of footsteps echoed from outside.

Fang's expression darkened. "Stay here."

He slid the panel shut and stepped into the main shop. Kent and Ethan exchanged nervous glances as muffled voices reached their ears.

"What's going on?" Ethan whispered.

Kent peeked through a small crack in the panel. Two men in black coats, their Nexus badges gleaming, were speaking with Fang.

"They're Nexus and watcher agents," Kent muttered.

Ethan's face paled. "We're dead. We're so dead."

"Relax," Kent whispered, pulling out the Spiritual Clock ability. "If they come in here, I'll hide us."

The minutes felt like hours as Fang spoke with the agents. Finally, the footsteps retreated, and Fang returned, his face grim.

"They were asking about unauthorized trades," Fang said. "You kids need to leave. Now."

Kent and Ethan didn't need to be told twice. They quickly slipped out through a back exit.

Selling the spiritual stones took a long time. It's very late at night. Kent returns home. Nima is already sleeping.

"He informed Nima he will be late, after studying and training with the old man Xian Yu. She had dinner with them, and now is sleeping. 💤 💤 😴"

After some work, Kent goes to bed. He is looking at his mobile screen. 1,2,3,4,5,6— I am rich he yelled, as he counted the numbers.

I have six figures savings in my bank account. He just jumped from bed. I'm his imagination Money and money all around him. She is sitting on a chair made out of money.

Sleeping on money and many more wild thoughts.

"What should I buy first? A car, a plane, or a ship, no maybe a noodle store for Nima?

After mentioning Nima, an old memory comes to his mind.

2 years ago. They run away from the orphanage. Kent turned 15 years old. Someone wanted to adopt Nima. But Nima doesn't want to leave Kent.

She cried for TWO days non stop. Then Kent took her run away from the orphanage. They live in the street for a week before Kent finds a cheap house to rent.

Nima asked him. Big brother is this really out house? Kent says it's not ours but from now on we will live here.

Nima said. Kent , One day I will buy this house and we will make it our permanent home.

Back to normal time-

I know what I am going to do. I will buy the house. I have to talk to the landlord. I will give Nima a surprise.

Suddenly a sound comes into Kent's mind.

Ding!
