[Ten Years Ago]
"Helena, you look beautiful," A young woman gushed as she looked at her friend in her wedding dress.
Helena looked at her and smiled softly. "Thank you."
"Why aren't you smiling?" The woman asked.
"Huh? What are you talking about? I am smiling," Helena looked at the mirror in front of her and smiled to show that she was indeed smiling.
The woman hugged her shoulder gently, "Are you still thinking about your mother?"
Helena froze.
Her mother had passed away a week before that day. How could she forget her so easily? Her eyes reddened but she stopped herself from crying. Her face was already covered with makeup and if she cried, it would be destroyed.
The friend said, "I thought the marriage would be postponed after your mother's accident."
Helena continued to smile, which clearly did not reach her eyes, and said, "Me too. But my father did not agree. He said that it was my mother's last wish to see me get married to Vernon immediately. To honor her last wish, the wedding was as scheduled."
The friend smiled and nodded. After talking for a bit more, she left the room. Only Helena was sitting in the room with a bouquet in her hand.
The grip on her bouquet tightened. She softly whispered, "Mom. Are you watching? Are you beside me?"

In the groom's car.
The groom, Vernon, fell asleep in the backseat who knows when as they were on the way to the banquet hall.
"Vernon, wake up," His friend shook his shoulder to wake the man up.
Vernon woke up with a startle.
He looked around to find that he was not in his office but in a car.
He couldn't help but frown. He looked at his friend who had just woke him up. He had not met this friend for a long time. Helena had broken their friendship.
Vernon was shocked to see his long-time friend beside him as he looked back at him with a smile.
The smile seemed weird. Because it felt like nothing had changed between them. After all that happened between them, how could he still smile like that?
Vernon was confused and he frowned.
"Why are you frowning like that? It is your wedding today. You should be smiling like a fool," The friend nudged his shoulder playfully.
"My wedding?" Vernon was confused. He looked at his hand. There is no wedding ring on his finger.
Where did his ring go?
He looked at his suit. Isn't this the suit he wore for his wedding?
Vernon's mind was in a mess as he did not understand what was going on at all.
He looked at his friend and asked him, "What day is it?"
"Have you gone crazy from happiness?" His friend looked at him and asked like Vernon had really gone crazy.
"Just tell me today's date. Why are you talking so much nonsense?" Vernon is not in the mood for jokes at the moment.
The friend was shocked by his sudden serious expression. After all, Vernon had always been a smiling and happy-go-lucky type of guy. At least in front of his close ones, he never got angry before.
The friend blinked his eyes and subconsciously told him the date.
Vernon turned to look out the window. They were in the car moving straight on the road.
The date was his marriage day ten years ago.
What exactly happened? He did not understand.
Did he time travel?
How?
Why?
He blinked his eyes.
He slapped his forehead and scolded himself, 'What do you mean 'why', you idiot? This is the chance. I have to get rid of this marriage immediately to escape my fate with that scheming woman.'
Vernon's eyes constricted with determination.
He did not know how he time traveled but he knew that to change his future, he had to stop this marriage by hook or crook.
Only by doing that would he be able to save his family from his 'wife'.
He took a deep breath.
He can't just casually stop this marriage. After all, their two families had been good friends for years and he wouldn't be able to stop his marriage just because he said so.
He turned around to look at the people inside the car.
There are three people inside other than him.
His assistant was driving and there were two of his friends- one in the passenger seat and the other beside him in the back.
During this time period, Vernon was a carefree guy who had yet to take any responsibilities in the company.
He was just casually leading a subsidiary branch to hone his skills.
He wasn't too serious and was having fun even though he was working.
So the friends he had beside him were almost the same as him.
They are just the rich second generation heirs, who knew nothing but to play around every day.
Most of them were the second or third sons in their families.
With their elder brothers taking care of the family businesses, they could happily have fun.
Vernon narrowed his eyes and looked at them.
"Why are you looking at me like that? Don't tell me, you don't want to marry your bride anymore and want to elope with me. I am telling you, there is no chance. I am very straight. Straighter than a pole. Do you understand?" The friend who was sitting beside Vernon shielded himself with his arms in an exaggerated manner and said by moving away from him.
Vernon's lips twitched. He had not seen this friend for so many years and completely forgot about how silly he actually was. He gritted his teeth, "Shut up. Idiot."
He rolled his eyes. He wanted to ask this man for help but hesitated. Could he trust him completely?
"What happened? Why do you look like that?" Even though he sounded silly a second ago, when he saw Vernon's expression, he suddenly turned serious and asked in concern.
Vernon looked at the genuine concern in his eyes and felt his eyes warm.
