Chapter 2 - Guidance.

Everything had gone... actually it has not gone Dark this time.

I was standing under the sun, sounds of waves ahead of me, chirping of the birds and the insects.

The sound of the sand as I walked.

I was actually in a beach. Now that's a crazy contrast from a gloomy never ending world of dark.

"But what even is this place?" I thought to myself.

I began discovering the place, it had been nearly 30 minutes since I began but I have not found any other island in sight in the ocean, I tried going across the forest but the other side of the forest simply had another coast. It was like a never ending strip of land all of which was the coast of the place.

There was something wrong about this place, I continue to hear the sounds of the animals, birds and insects, the sound of the waves moving continues relentlessly. However the ocean was as calm as abandoned land and not a single living being has come into my sight.

It felt like a trap...

"Stop it, I can't take anymore of this" I pleaded.

Everything stayed still for a while as my voice echoed through the vast space and suddenly the skies began to be enveloped in darkness eventually consuming everything except for myself.

The girl appeared Infront of me as soon as the ground beneath me was covered in darkness as well.

"You don't really need to decorate this place."I told her

"... " she stayed still breathing steadily but audibly.

" I don't give a fuck about who you are, how or which way you did it but why did you revive me despite my denial?"

"That's..." She stepped forward saying this and paused

"That what?" I asked but before I could notice she had held my wrist with a tight grip, even making me immobile.

"This is wrong, atleast answer m-" her hand turned to the liquid and her body followed likewise slowly enveloping my entire body.

I tried to hold in the screams but the pain was worse than before and I couldn't keep up for more than a second.

Eventually the entire thing consumed me and everything went black.

I was back in the backseat of the car like previously but something felt different.

The car's door to my right was stuck,

"Hey are you the-- huh?" I tried to check on the driver but,

The situation this time had somehow changed. Nor was I stopped by a cop neither was I Infront of the burning Kyrialis but instead our car had crashed into a saloon and the driver had died in the crash.

It was a miracle how I was unwounded. The right door was actually beside the wall that's why it couldn't open.

I kicked down the left door which was supposed to be not working.

When I went out of the place, I could barely recognize the city anymore.

The Eastern continent was generally more of the tropical type, it always had this warm and humid weather typically in the eastern continent's capital Nova Haven which was to the furthest in the east most distant from the rest of the world.

However it seemed like the nature's laws had stopped to function any further.

It was snowing, quite literally in the month of May of all time.

A Huge thud came from behind me.

"It must be the falling building" I thought to myself.

I turned around to see I was right however something was different than what I had anticipated.

Not me alone but everyone on the road had expected something much different from what was in front of our eyes.

The Aquarius was falling, but it wasn't merely the top coming down in fact the entire building was falling on the road I was on, it was around 3 km away so I was sure to be fine but that wasn't the matter here.

What really did matter was what was behind the falling aquarius, A creature emerged, its scales glinting in a mesmerizing dance of light blue and white hues. Its wings, though compact, radiated an aura of fierce power. The creature's eyes gleamed with icy intensity, and frost-encrusted claws extended from its limbs.

From all the games and comics I had read it could be called a wyvern, but those things breath fire don't they?

The wyvern began to rampage about as it's huge tail, almost like a whip of steel, smashed down the towers nearby and then it let out a wild roar, finally breathing out a huge beam of distorted power light blue in color.

Wherever it touched it left behind ice and took away the life the place had.

I continued to gaze at the mysterious creature and realized I wasn't being myself when I noticed all the people around me running for their life.

I was confused for a while and looked around in surprise and finally saw what happened.

Ahead of me, beside me and behind me, in every direction, it almost felt alien to me, like I didn't belong to this world.

Several creatures of the same shades as the wyvern, resembling bears, wolves, hyenas, cyclopes what not. They hunted the people mercilessly as they desperately ran and cried for lives.

Then I saw a group of people different from these, they were around 10-12 people and they were able to stand their own against the creatures.

I noticed how they fought in a formation and were using weapons different from nothing like the modern weaponry I knew of.

I then noticed growling of a creature getting louder by the second, when I turned left I saw a wolf heading towards me.

It was true I did not want to be revived however that doesn't mean I won't fight for my life.

I took a rod from the damaged saloon beside me and swung it at the wolf, it was taken aback, it whined from the pain, that reaction was however temporary as the creature jumped at me and crunched down my right shoulder. I kicked it hard out of the pain and began running.

In the attempt of escapong from one creature, I had eventually caught the attention of many other monsters as well, it was quite literally a run for my life.

***

I had ran and ran till my legs gave out on me, I never really was a good runner it doesn't feel like my legs could recover from this ever.

I lied against the stone cold pillar of the bridge above me, blood had dried up on it and so had it on my clothes and my face.

I was a mess, I had lost my left arm, my right arm couldn't be used, my legs were damaged and had turned useless. I had not given up however my body just couldn't anymore.

The hungry bloodthirsty creatures, bared their fangs at me, their white fur now with a tint of red from the blood of all the people they had taken the lives of.

It was a shame to have died thrice despite being given chances.

I took in my last breath and closed my eyes accepting the fateful death.

Suddenly the growling of the beasts disappeared and was instead replaced by the sound of the footsteps of someone. I opened my eyes to see a man standing a few feet ahead of me with his back towards me. In the place of where the beasts had been, were golden particles slowly rising up and disappearing.

He had long divine white hair, wore a long white coat, emanating a sublime aura.

He turned to his right slightly looking directly into my eyes with his golden eyes, his mere gaze filling me with an inexpressible relief.

He turned around and walked to me, his beauty was indescribable, nothing I had seen in my life could compare to it. Upon reaching me, he bent down on one of his knees and touched the shoulder where I had lost my arm.

"Great job on surviving so far.." and got up.

All the places I had been hurt at began to be replaced by the golden particles from earlier which began recovering my lost arm and all my wounds.

"You aren't supposed to die yet. I understand wanting to die.. However for now head east" He said and paused.

The wyvern which had been rampaging so far suddenly took notice of the man and let out a roar, flew high up into the sky continuing by diving down towards us with all it's force, enough to bring down another Nova aquarius.

I couldn't bring myself to speak anything, the man in front of me extended his left arm behind with his palm open, as if telling the creature to stop.

Nevertheless it dived straight into us and took a violent halt upon hitting the man's palm. Despite the force the man didn't even seem to flinch, infact not an inch of his body moved upon the impact.

The impact had caused all the surrounding snow to fly away and the buildings in the street had gotten quite damaged too due to the missile like dive of the wyvern. The wyvern struggled to get out of the man's grip as he held it by it's jaw, fighting for it's life, but then stopped moving and froze in time as it began to be replaced by the same golden particles.

He continued as if nothing had ever happened, "As I was saying, head east for now, to the subway station there and you will find the right people and path for your future."

He then turned around and began walking away

I opened my mouth to speak "Wh-" my dried up throat prevented me from what little action I could take "Who are y-you?" I asked with difficulty.

"I...." he said and paused and then disappeared with a flash, his disappearance was accompanied by a violent gush of wind which filled all the streets nearby.

I sat still for a while, when I finally completed reflecting on the events so far, I got up deciding to find some place to take shelter at.

That night, the ever lively and glowing city of Nova Haven had been shrouded in a mysterious darkness of despair, however after the man's appearance it felt like the only darkness remaining was the physical one.
