Chapter 6 - 6: Wail Academy III

Theo sat in one of the four rooms this cozy little apartment provided.

He was tied up, blindfolded and gagged onto a single metal chair that made his ears curl when he shifted on it.

He struggled with his breathing, trying to pass in air through his nose and not his mouth as saliva dampened the cloth tightly fastened to his mouth.

His heart palpitated within his chest. Would he have to sleep here as a punishment?

He thought he had made it clear that he lacked the cooking skills to satisfy her noble palate but 'No!', she went ahead to pick out a noble as her collateral.

'This is what happens when you leave the big decisions to kids like her...'

Theo shifted slightly in his seat again to accommodate a growing itch on his behind but he grimaced as he pulled on his broken arm tied harshly behind him.

'Curses! Curse whoever brought me here! Curse you Divine!'

His attention was diverted to his earing as the door grated itself open. The top hinge had been pulled off in Sylvania's rage so it dragged messily against the tiles whenever it was used.

Theo had been having some dark thoughts as he was left to himself and the feeling only grew stronger as his blindfold was pulled off his face.

A suitcase lay opened in front of him, displaying an array of razor-sharp equipment that could only mean one thing.

Theo laughed silently in his mind, his heartbeat increasing even more but some part of his mind still tried to treat it all as a joke.

'Oh my God, is this Tokyo Ghoul?'

Sylvania walked barefoot so she made no sound as she walked behind him and tightened his restraints.

She paid no attention to his pleading eyes and muffled screams.

This time, her tone wasn't the usual blazed tone or one filled with superiority, she spoke coldly, like the icy wind on a cold winter day.

"Theodorel Von Ayzrel..." She brought out a paper out of her dress' pocket. "You owe me one hundred pinches, one hundred scratches and fifty painful screams."

She dropped the paper on the floor and turned her attention to him.

"Ah, you seem quite confused don't you?" Her lips slowly curled up into a smile. "I'll give a examples, don't worry."

She knelt down on one knee and picked up an equipment that resembled pliers, but only more of a sharper and more dangerous variety.

Her red lips moved like a melody.

"This is a pinch."

She tore off a part of Theo's trousers and brought the cold steel of the pliers to Theo's leg.

He started to jump and scream in his seat, terrified and afraid of the incoming pain.

Sylvania got hold of Theo's skin and pulled with one swift, cruel motion.

His eyes went bloodshot, his trachea opening wide and sore as he screamed muffledly.

"Now, a scratch."

She dropped the pliers and picked up a long, thin needle clearly not made for sewing.

A devious glint flashed in her eyes as she made a long slash across his face with her needle.

"That enough for the examples, one hundred... ah, that's right." She suddenly remembered something.

"You cooked crap for dinner and now I'm starving. How are you going to pay this debt Theo?"

Her smile grew bigger.

"One fifty pinches, One fifty scratches and One hundred painful screams."

She ripped off the gag from his mouth and immediately Theo started to plead.

"P-please! Spare me!" His voice croaked, tears streamed down his face but nothing touched Sylvania's dark, black heart.

As she continued, Theo's chair tilted over from all his shaking, giving him a harsh landing on his side.

He cried, screamed, begged.

But it went on.

His punishment.

—————

Alvida was the head nurse of the first year Wail Academy Infirmary and due to it being the first day of school, there were mostly no accidents except the test that happened yesterday evening but the students would mostly come after their classes in order to not miss anything.

As a result, she had a lot of free time this morning, coupled with the fact that her chatty junior nurses were absent, she sat at her table near a window, completely immersed in the series she was watching.

Until... a half-corpse of a student fell at her doorstep covered in dry blood.

She rushed forward with mixed feelings of a sense of duty and confusion as she saw that these amount and nature of injuries were not something gravity would do to you.

'Did they take it too far with those tests?'

She hurriedly carried the boy and placed him on a nearby bed.

She checked for his pulse and realized he was just alive, just suffering from a minimal amount of bloodloss.

He had several horrifying surface injuries and a terrifying scar that marred his mouth.

It was obvious that this sort of thing wasn't the first.

It was only after Alvida had completely stabilized his condition that she noticed he was wearing a white uniform.

'A noble?!' She was shocked and even more when her eyes trailed to the grey slash on his sleeve. 'And he's a collateral?!'

'Commoners getting bullied and tortured by nobles are already enough on my plate but a noble collateral? Gosh, that sounds so weird.'

She pulled herself out of her thoughts and quickly retrieved a blood bag from the freezer backroom and administered it to him.

Alvida moved closely to the patient and quietly studied his face before starting with it.

She placed her hands on his skin and slowly traced her finger over each and every injury, one by one, leaving them sealed with brand new flesh.

She stopped as she reached the scar, it had already been healed by someone else with much less experience than she had.

The injury that was there before bad already been closed with scarred flesh and she couldn't place flesh over flesh.

Unless the entire scarred part was cut out and healed by her... surely no one would want to go through that amount of pain for a scar right?

She continued with the other injuries and patched them up one by one, leaving her exhausted by the end of it.

A majority of her chakra was wasted in order to seal all the injuries and for a nurse who was used to working on many patients overnight, this left her surprised.

It was like his body was absorbing chakra from her body before she even released it, how weird.

'Who knows, could be his affinity.'

She returned to her seat and waited for the patient to awaken.

Suddenly the door opened and someone walked in.

"Good morning miss, I was searching for a lost lamb of mine. Did you happen to see him?"
