Golden rays pierce through the thick clouds above the Doldrio Plane, the lowest realm of the second heaven. The light illuminates a desolate wasteland littered with the lifeless bodies of hundreds of Nephilites.
Resembling humans with pitch-black skin, they bear four dark wings coated in soot-like scales reminiscent of a black butterfly's. Once revered for their devotion to God, they were raised to the second heaven to dwell among the angels.
Yet, their choice to rebel sealed their fate. Now, they lie slaughtered by a single heavenly knight named Livne Atniel—renowned as the Skywrath Comforter.
"This is your last chance to gain God's mercy! Repent now, you dissident!"
With his pristine white wings folded neatly against his back, the Skywrath Comforter sits atop the chest of the last surviving Nephilim. Despite his diminutive size, barely a quarter that of the giant beneath him, he has actually turned the arid Doldrio Plane into a gruesome scene of carnage.
Severed heads, limbs, and shattered black wings cover the landscape, soaking the ground in blood and soot, transforming the wasteland into a canvas of devastation.
"I said repent!!!"
He smacks the Nephilim in the face, blowing three teeth out of its mouth. But soon, the Nephilim slowly turns his face back toward Atniel, only to show his rage.
"Lick my bottom horn first, you heavenly whore!"
The Nephilim spits something out of his mouth, causing Atniel to be drenched in a blood bath. Furious, Atniel channels all his divine power into his knuckle. That right knuckle starts emitting blinding light. It even creates some cracks in the air.
"No, Atniel! Don't use that attack here!"
There's Midbar Elisha, a beautiful angel who is assigned as Atniel's companion. The angel rushes toward Atniel with an awry face. But the so-called Skywrath Comforter is already at the peak of his wrath and hits the giant's face with his Sky Cracking Punch.
With a wrath like a mountain has been holding hot lava for hundreds millennia, he releases everything in a single punch. It crushes the Nephilim's head like a smashed tomato, and even causes a huge crater on the ground. The impact also creates some spreading cracks on Doldrio Plane.
"Why did you do that?!" Elisha scolds him. "We are currently at the base of second heaven. That hit just now must have created a disturbance to the realm below, you know that?"
Atniel simply walks away with an unenthusiastic face. "Well, they will have hundreds of years of peace after I killed that last one!"
Elisha looks around, examining several beams of light coming out of the cracks on the ground which are now slowly closing back.
To her surprise, there is one Nephilim, who has been pretending to be dead amidst the abundance of corpses of his kin, crawling toward the nearest cracking ground.
"Atniel! There's still one left!"
Not wasting any time, Atniel rushes after that one Nephilim. But later he sees the giant just drops on the ground. He turns the giant up and finds out that its chest has opened, leaving the body like a hollow vessel.
"His essence must have left and descended to the lowest realm through the crack you've created on the plane," Elisha speculates.
Atniel gets up with a confused face observing the cracks on the ground. He begins to check those dead Nephilites one by one, making sure there's no more of them pretending to be dead.
Meanwhile, Elisha is now having a tele-conversation with someone while holding the earring on her left ear.
A few moments later…
"It's a decree from the Angel in Chief of the Third Heaven," Elisha informs. "He noticed what you did and learned that one Nephilim is heading to planet Ardh #73, your home planet. You are ordered to go down there to hunt that last Nephilim."
Atniel's face immediately turns so distraught. "I had done my best doing so many good deeds, to be worthy enough living amongst the angels here in heaven. Now you tell me to go back there?"
Elisha approaches Atniel to persuade him. "Since that last Nephilim left, that planet might have become a place of total ignorance, full of atheists who don't believe in God's existence. This is a chance to raise your status as heavenly knight even higher because you will receive God's Blessing for every soul you lead back to God's path."
That condition is effective enough to make Atniel a little excited. In fact, that's how he was lifted to the third heaven. And of course, he wants to be raised even higher.
"How much time do I have?"
Elisha lifts her left hands, and soon, some dust from the ground is pulled up and turns into an hourglass. "An hour! Which means you will have seven years in that planet to find that last Nephilim! Now, get ready! I'm going to make you incarnate into someone's body down there."
"Eh? Incarnate? Why don't you just send me there?"
"You are no longer a normal human. I don't want you to obliterate the entire planet with just a single touch of your feather. After all, we've already been wasting too much time here for you to be reborn because that last Nephilim might have already spent more than three decades there. I'll help you incarnate into someone who is going to die. You can take over that man's body after that."
"Okay! Just pick the best vessel available!"
Knowing that his body will be left petrified, Atniel takes a pose by puffing his chest and puts his left hand on the waist. He spreads his both wings, and then raises his sword high.
"What do you think of my pose?"
Elisha ignores his antics and then gently touches the tip of her wand on Atniel's chest to begin the incarnation.
"Hey, wait a minute!"
"What else?"
Feeling some itchiness, the Skywrath Comforter starts scratching his nuts with an amused face. Sadly, the petrification on his body has already begun, starting from the exact point where he is scratching.
"Oh, no! Elisha, wait! Can't you undo this? I can't be petrified in this position."
But Elisha just walks away with her uninterested face.
"Oh, God! My image as the Skywrath Comforter…"
