Jamie found it really difficult fighting with Sawyer. Mainly because her body wasn't in the same peak condition as before and she was weak now.
They exchanged blows, kicks, and bruises. Sawyer didn't go easy on her and that made her feel good about him. She was not going to lose to him. The guild wasn't that important to her now. But the fight made her feel alive.
No one could fight with her before. They rarely fought with her. That's why she was heavily drugged when they tried to experiment on her. Otherwise, she would have broken their bones before they could speak a word.
Sawyer dodged and attacked her at the same time. She had to spin to get out of his attack range and hit his knees. He tilted and did a cartwheel.
She continued hitting him and he made cartwheels before jumping back and hitting her in the back. Jamie precariously bent trying to dodge but she felt the impact.
That made her fight like crazy to land hits on him as an act of revenge.
Leo cheered them on. He was the only spectator and he was cheering for both of them.
Jamie knew that she couldn't win against Sawyer who was still fit whole she felt her strength draining. He caught her by her arms and spun.
"You lose."
He then released her.
She turned around in defeat. The fight was exhilarating.
"I can't join you but can I follow you?"
"No, you should join us. You fought with him for more than thirty minutes. That is awesome."
Jamie shook her head.
"That wasn't the bet though."
Leo looked at Sawyer and he coughed.
"Maybe, you can join."
"Really?"
"Yeah, you fought good. You can improve on your kicks. There's not enough power and you dodge more than you attack."
He taught her patiently.
When they reached the trade post, Jamie was tired. The fight and the walk, were tiring.
Leo exchanged the burnt but somewhat intact vine for fifty-kilogram rice and ten-kilogram vegetable tickets.
"Wow!"
"This is less actually. We could have got double if we exchanged with the inner trade post."
Leo told her.
"Why don't we go there then?"
"They don't allow us. The paths are blocked. Only for official use. You can go there only when there is the tournament."
"Tournament?"
"Every six months, there is a tournament and the winners get to live in the Inner Circle. And then if they win there, they go to the Inner City."
"You want to go to Inner City?"
Leo nodded and then shook his head.
"I don't want to actually. The place is not nice. But my eldest sister, followed a guild leader. I want to bring her back."
There seemed to be a story there.
They took her to their place. A small village called Fishborough.
Leo introduced many people.
When they reached the twin houses at the end, he stopped.
"This is my home and this is Brother Sawyer's. You can live with my sister."
Sawyer left them without a word. Jamie figured that his personality didn't allow getting close to anyone.
"Leo, you are back. I was scared. You were gone for too long."
"Celia, see, I've got a friend here. Meet Jamie."
"Is she from the Inner?"
Celia frowned.
"She was abandoned. I thought she could live with you till she found a home."
Celia wasn't friendly but she was polite. She took Jamje to her room where there were two beds.
Jamie sat there thinking of her plan. She had to go to the Inner City. Only then she could find a way to catch those traitors. If only she had awakened earlier, she would have easily met them. She was already in the Inner City. But no, her luck made her wake up after she was sent out.
Anyway, to go there, she would have to win the Guild Competition.
She needed a guild.
She then realized she jad accepted to be in Leo and Sawyer's guild. Should have thought before accepting. Handsome men affected her decisions.
She had to make sure her guild won then.
Jamie pulled the curtain and she was greeted with a shirtless Sawyer. Wow. The rooms were really opposite each other.
And he didn't know that she could see him.
The question was to see or not to see.
Jamie closed the curtain. She wasn't seeing.
But those abs were imprinted in her mind. No no no, remember space.
Yes, her space.
Jamie disappeared from her position and appeared in her space. Before her space was the size of a small house. But now, it was a town. There was everything. She could get something by just thinking about it.
This was awesome.
Jamie got the sandwiches out first. She was hungry. She drank milk and then felt sated.
She came out in time because Celia was opening the door. A second difference and her secret could be caught.
"Yes, Leo told me about you. You can stay here but you need to pay. We can't give you free food."
"Yes, yes, thank you."
Celia was disturbed by her big smile. She sat on her bed and took out a book to read.
"That, Celia, can you tell me if there are any jobs I could take?"
"You can go ask the tradeposts. They have ads there."
Celia wasn't willing to talk to her.
Jamie fell asleep. She had to know more information about the world now. To reach the enemies, she had to know what they had been doing.
Jamie woke up early. She took a quick shower. For a post-apocalyptic and still in Apocalypse world, the facilities were good.
She looked out for the nearby tradepost and found queuing people.
She found the tasks.
Zombie crystals- Five high-level zombie crystals- fifty thousand coins
No one took this mission. The other missions were about the monster Vine and Exchanges. Jamie went for the highest reward as always.
Jamie knew what she was doing that day. Zombies, here I come.
