Chapter 41: The Ancient Evil
Aria's words hung in the air, and I could feel the weight of her warning settling upon us.
"What is the name of this evil?" Liam asked, his voice firm.
Aria's eyes seemed to cloud over, and she spoke in a voice that was barely above a whisper.
"It is called the Shadow," she said. "A being of great power and malevolence. It was imprisoned long ago, but it has been awakened by the defeat of the Order."
I felt a shiver run down my spine as Aria spoke. The Shadow sounded like a monster from a nightmare.
"What can we do to stop it?" Victor asked, his voice urgent.
Aria's eyes seemed to bore into our souls.
"You must find the ancient artifacts," she said. "The artifacts that were used to imprison the Shadow in the first place. With those artifacts, you may have a chance to defeat the Shadow and save your pack."
I felt a surge of determination. We would find those artifacts, no matter what it took.
