'Why are these weaklings so annoying?'
Napua suddenly took over, and transformed, then dashed to the 'enemies' that had just arrived. She despised everyone in this pack for everything they put Evelyn through, and now, she would pay them in full.
In less than eight minutes, she's taken down more than 15 warriors. Fighting these weak things felt like she was bullying them.
Another wave of warriors rushed over and she got rid of them again. But after the third time, the light around her had gotten dimmer and dimmer. By the time the fourth wave of warriors rushed over, more than fifty of them, Napua cursed, because Evelyn's body was growing too weak, and was unable to support her overwhelming power.
If she transformed back to her human form right now, Evelyn would be killed.
Using everything in her, she let out a torrent of white light that was tainted by black energy, and shot it in the direction of those warriors.
All the warriors met their ends, but the power she just released drew more warriors her way.
Because she exerted too much power at once, she sustained internal and external injuries, coupled with those scratches and bites from the fresh warriors who swarm around her like annoying bees.
But she didn't give up. She would rather die fighting than die running. Her only regret was that her human counterpart was too weak, and lacked the ability to support her.
Napua's body was now battered and bruised. Her once glowing fur now matted and stained with her own blood and enemies' blood.
Suddenly, a huge black wolf pounced on her. Stumbling back, she fell with the wolf clung to her. Napua tried to fight it off, but a few more beasts sank their teeth into her limbs.
Napua let out a pierce roar, but couldn't do much to save herself and Evelyn. The pain and powerlessness forced her to transform.
Evelyn couldn't take the heat. Just as the huge black wolf readied itself to bite off her neck, a strong force that should have killed her swept over them, sucking out the life from the wolves surrounding her.
Evelyn's eyes fluttered open as she laid on the grass, powerless. From her dimming and blurred vision, she saw a tall man in a black cloak with brown faux fur collar, casually dissecting her remaining enemies with his bare hands. He looked bored and calm, as he grabbed one huge wolf that tried to pounce on him and snapped its neck, then threw it aside.
Another wolf was also helping him by the side. He held a flaming whip. Their attacks were lethal. One strike and the enemies were dead.
Who were these people?
Her consciousness was slipping away very quickly. After the tall man ripped out the last enemy's hand and tossed him to his helper, he turned and then slowly walked up to her.
Evelyn's weak heart trembled when he stood over her. She tried to make sense of his appearance, but he was too tall for her prone self. Suddenly, he squatted down and lifted her to a sitting position.
His cold face was in her view, but she couldn't keep her gaze steady, her eyes fluttering closed as a wave of dizziness washed over her. The man's grip on her shoulders was firm, but gentle, holding her upright as she swayed. Suddenly, he slapped her back, and a stream of cold energy flowed into her.
The severe pain she felt all over slowly vanished, but Evelyn couldn't make sense of what was going on, she just wanted to sleep...forever, but that force wouldn't let her.
"My Lord, is she alright?" Barak asked as he hurried over to stand beside Vlad.
"Give me the pill," he said calmly.
Barak produced a small bottle and poured out a white pill. Vlad then fed the pill to Evelyn, but she couldn't swallow it. Her consciousness was slipping away.
Seeing this, he ate the medicine, and then fed it to her orally before she passed out.
The fur, which covered her nakedness, was starting to disappear into her skin.
Seeing this, Vlad took off his cloak and wore it on her before laying her down, and rising to his feet.
"Are you going to leave her here?" Barak was flabbergasted. But his Alpha said nothing and walked away.
Not knowing whether to stay behind or follow, Barack stood there, frozen in place until he decided to follow his Alpha.
…
Meanwhile, the news of an intruder sneaking into the pack and killing over a 150 pack members sent shockwaves through the pack.
The Alpha's thunderous roar cut through the darkness. "Where is Markkus?!"
"Father."
Markkus stepped out of his quarters with a deep frown etched on his face. As he strode to the gathering, his aura commanded attention. His piercing gaze swept over the crowd, burning with a fierce intensity that made even the most hardened warriors quail.
His hair and clothes danced in the air, even though there was no wind.
As he moved, the crowd parted before him, their faces set in respectful awe. Standing before his father, one would have mistaken him to be the Alpha, if not that his father was shrouded by the aura that was peculiar to none other than an Alpha.
"I want you to find that intruder and bring them before me, now!" the Alpha growled.
"Yes, Father."
With that, Markkus shifted. He was a giant grey wolf with patches of white fur. His eyes gleamed with a fierce yellow light as he let out a thunderous roar into the sky, sending a wave of wind around.
A faint ancient aura seeped out from his massive body, making his father widen his eyes in shock.
With Markkus taking the lead, his future beta, Ryker, and the warriors also shifted and took off into the night, following Markkus from behind.
They couldn't outrun him even if they wanted to.
"The future Alpha is so strong now. Our pack will surely soar higher!" and Elder said, feeling excited.
"I thought his wolf was pure grey? How did he get patches of white?" another Elder asked, feeling bewildered.
The Alpha, who was shocked, regained his composure and glared at the Elders. He also didn't know. Just as he was about to leave, another Elder, a calm, wise-liking man, spoke languidly;
