Chapter 52 - Battle of wit

Evelyn's eyes narrowed. What kind of power was at play here? It was already strange enough that a cut on the leg could kill the giant. But now, it has dissipated?

Could this be because nothing was real?

"KILL HER!!!" the biggest of them all, their leader, thundered, his voice carrying across the desolate landscape, shattering the brief moment of silence that had fallen over the scene.

The other giants, seemingly hyped up by their leader's battle cry, charged towards Evelyn with renewed ferocity. This time, they weren't holding arrows - they probably felt that their fists and feet were good enough weapons. After all, Evelyn was like an ant in front of them.

Evelyn stood her ground, the dagger still clutched tightly, as she prepared to face the onslaught.

The giants closed in, their massive bodies forming a semi-circle around Evelyn.
