Smack!
Everscents head whips to the left, her cheek and lip throbs. Something wet drips down her chin and she licks it, tasting the copperness of her blood. Are slaps supposed to hurt this badly? She groans and throws her head back as the right side of her face throbs. It feels more like a sucker punch than anything.

Almi? The hunting dragon god. It makes more sense now, why his slap hurt more than it should've. With his blessing, any human would have everything about their senses enhanced. His hearing, his eye sight, his sense of smell, and his strength.
"Don't lie to me, Miss Everscent." He sighs, "I don't like liars." He reaches up with a hand to slick loose strands of hair back into place.
"Mr. Guanzuelo, sir," She attempts, chuckling awkwardly, "I really don't know-"
"You think just because you're Versances daughter you'd get away scot-free?" He asks, his voice light. He lifts his leg and kicks her in the chest. The dirt beneath his shiny leather shoe leaves a grey imprint onto her black clothes. Ever falls back and the chair crashes against the floor. The air is knocked out of her and she gasps, her back screams in agony and she groans. Yeah, anyone blessed by Almi is annoying.
"But I'm telling the truth!" She sputters between gasps. Is there a chance she can convince him not to call her parents? He comes around the table to stand over her, "I don't have it!" Eh, she doubts it. She sighs and slumps in the chair in defeat. Her parents are definitely going to come pick her up.
"Then where could it have gone?" He scoffs."Hm? Did it just up and disappear?"
"Yes," She nods her head with all the seriousness she can muster. She's going to need a better excuse than that. She shifts awkwardly, she's still on the floor, and with him looming over her, with his arms crossed, it's a little weird. "I smashed the glass and before I could touch it, they vanished." The daggers and the bastard who stole them from her.
There's a sudden ring that makes him pause. He pulls his phone out of his inside pocket and when he sees the caller ID, he smiles, the cold and evil aura leaving him in a second.
"Don't say a word. I have to take this." He glares at her. He turns away and walks to the table at the other side of the interrogation room. "Hello, my pookie pie," He coos, his voice soft and low. It's like he has multiple personalities, his mood changes so quickly.
Evers eyebrows scrunch as she watches him. Is he seriously taking a call while beating her to a pulp? Everscent tisks beneath her breath and turns to look at the draeven. What was his name, Xavier?
The red Draeven blinks orange eyes at her. It's mouth opens, flashing sharp teeth as he yawns. Wow, is this the Draeven who tackled her to the ground earlier? It must be.
"Oh, I know." Mr. Guan murmurs, his voice smooth compared to the way he spoke with her without a care. "I'm almost done, and I'll be there soon. I know you hate it when I take too long, snookums."
Snookums? The nicknames just keep getting worse. Why can't he just use normal ones, like honey, or sweetie?
Her mind trails to the bastard. Did he manage to actually get away or did he get caught by the patrols? If he did, then she probably wouldn't be getting interrogated right now. She purses her lips, something is making her not tell them about him. She was about too, because she had no problem screwing over the bastard who did it to her first, but something in her gut made her pause. Why does she feel dread every time she even tries to think about bringing him up?
"Okay, I love you so much." There's a pause. "No, I do. I love you most." Everscent rolls her eyes and even Xavier the draeven huffs. Are they a new couple who is still in their honeymoon phase? Or is he really just like this all the time? "No, I do." Another pause, "I love you more than anything in this -"
"Oh my god just hang up already." Everscent snaps. This torture interrogation thing is turning out to be more of a romance than anything with the way he smothers his 'pookie'.
There's a moment of silence and then a beep.
"She hung up on me." He murmurs. He turns and glares at her, his hand squeezing his phone. "You made my pookie hang up on me." He sniffs, his eyes turning red. Is he going to cry? "Oh, I bet she's mad at me now, too." He sniffles, and stomps up to Ever, He leans down, grabs the back of her chair and hoists it up so she's sitting properly. "Didn't I tell you to keep your ugly trap shut?!"
His face is red now as he huffs and glares down at her. A door opens and someone comes in and whispers in Mr. Guanzuelos ear. All the while, Mr. Guan just glares at her.
"Oh really?" Mr. Guan frowns as the messenger pulls back. "How convenient. You may go, thank you, Miguel." Miguel nods and leaves the room, all the while avoiding getting too close to Xavier. The draeven doesn't even acknowledge him, as if he's not even in the room. "The camera at the facility malfunctioned." Mr. Guan continues, holding his hands behind his back as he taps a black shoed foot. "You wouldn't happen to know about that, would you?"
