Athena felt weightless, adrift in an endless sea of stars. The galaxy stretched before her, vast and breathtaking, a cosmic expanse that shimmered with a thousand lights.
She had died, again. The realization should have filled her with sorrow, but instead, there was a strange peace in her heart. She had fought with everything she had. She had tried.
And yet, even in death, something remained.
A voice, smooth and ancient, echoed around her. "Welcome, Athena."
She blinked. Her ethereal form felt different, untethered, as if she were no longer bound by the limits of flesh and bone.
Slowly, she turned, searching for the source of the voice, but there was nothing. Only the great expanse of the cosmos, stretching infinitely in all directions.
Then, in front of her, a screen flickered into existence.
The image that appeared made her breath catch.
