Chapter 4
Rhydian
The meeting with my counselors had just wrapped up when Lucian walked in. "She's here," he said, bowing in respect.
My bride-to-be.
I got up right away. I didn't really know what I was expecting, but I wanted to see her. This whole marriage wasn't even supposed to happen. It was a last-ditch effort because of what the diviner saw in her vision.
We've been at war with the dragons for centuries—over three hundred years of relentless war. They think they're meant to rule everyone, all four races. And they won't stop until they get what they want.
Our diviner said there's only one way to stop them. The witches' magic. Without it, we don't stand a chance. She warned us that if we don't make peace with the witches now, the dragons will take everything.
So here I was, about to meet the woman they claimed could save us all. I wasn't sure if I believed it, but what choice did I have?
As I stepped into the palace, I saw her talking with the maids I had assigned to her. I had specifically chosen human maids, hoping it would make her feel more at ease. Back when my father was king, he had hunted witches for their blood. I knew she probably hated vampires, and I couldn't blame her.
She had a cloak over her head so I couldn't see her face.
"Alright Irene, I only need one plate of food, you can take the rest away." she said.
From her Aura, I could sense she wasn't as simple as she looked, and I'm sure the witches accepted the marriage with a plan in mind, and whatever that was, I was going to find out.
"And who said your we're eating alone." i interrupted, standing behind her, she froze, as if contemplating whether to turn and face me or not. The maids quickly bowed to greet me, acknowledging my presence.
"Welcome your majesty," The maids greeted in unison. I waved them off, telling them to leave, the ones holding the trays took the food inside the room and left, and I was still waiting for the little witch to turn over. After a few moments of silence, she removed the hood of her cloak and turned over with a smile.
"Welcome your majesty," she greeted.
In that moment, it felt like my world had stop spinning. What in the world was she? Could someone actually be this breathtaking?
I'd never seen an angel before, but standing there, I was certain she looked like one.
And her eyes—those eyes. It felt like she'd cast a spell on me. They were mesmerizing, utterly impossible to look away from.
Her hair, silver and shining, only added to the almost otherworldly beauty.
I noticed that she also had a shocked expression written over her face, she must have been surprised to see me, maybe she wasn't expecting my arrival.
I quickly cleared my throat, regaining my composure. My expression instantly turned emotionless, I walked closer to her, I could clearly hear the racing sound of her heart. Was she afraid of me?
"If you don't mind, we can have dinner together" i said firmly, trying to sound as polite as i could. I wasn't the polite type, I never was. But she was a guest, I'll definitely scare her away if I tried to act my usual self.
"I don't mind" she replied, giving me a soft smile. I could instantly see through her façade. That fake smile, Pretentious women who tried to act all delicate just to get on my good side—it was nauseating.
I turned and walked into the room, while she followed behind me. As soon as I heard the door close behind us, I turned to her. Since she wanted to act like a submissive delicate woman, I could have some fun teasing her until she was ready to reveal her true motives.
I stalked closer to her, and she looked up at me, obviously confused, but she refused to back away.
Instead, she stood still, watching and waiting for my next move. I couldn't figure out what she was thinking, her eyes were dead, completely emotionless. I could tell she wasn't some delicate woman, eyes never lie.
I now stood very close to her, our bodies were only inches apart. I leaned lower, holding and tilting her chin upwards as I gazed deeply into her eyes, my lips curved into a teasing smirk.
"Purple huh? Very unique." i mumbled, my gaze trailing down from her eyes down to her lips, rosy red, plump, and so damn seductive. I wasn't planning on doing anything to her, I just wanted to tease her till she willingly dropped the pretense.
But just then, she gently bit her lips nervously, her gaze never leaving mine. That simple act of her's made me feel something I hadn't felt in a while. Lust, I suddenly wanted to kiss her so badly, to ravage her lips till they became swollen from my kisses. I don't remember the last time I felt this amount of lust over a woman. I could already feel my length harden with excitement.
I leaned even closer, till our lips almost touched, I could hear the way her heart raced, she was definitely nervous, and it made it even more fun for me to keep teasing her. I inhaled her scent, she smelled like roses. What was this, why did I like everything about her.
"The food might get cold." she finally spoke, but her eyes didn't waver on bit. She seemed really determined to follow through with her act.
"The food can wait." I whispered, my hand wrapped around the back of her neck and pulled her closer, my breath caressed her ear and I felt her stiffen beneath my touch.
"You're so beautiful, your lips....these sexy lips of yours, I want to kiss them so badly," I whispered against her ear, her heart beat quickened, beating even faster than before. My lips curved into a smile. It seemed like I was actually having an effect on her.
I trailed back to her lips, leaning in as I pecked gently, teasing at first, her lips were extremely soft, and i wanted to feel and taste them so badly. But she suddenly gripped the fabric of my robe, pulling me closer and kissed me deeply, catching me off guard.
