POV: Angelo Surrez
As the plane touched down in Manila, a mix of emotions swirled inside me. Moving back to this city, wher of Suraya still lingered, was one of the hardest decisions I'd ever made. There was nothing to miss about this city, except for my family. My grandma's words echoed in my mind: "It's time for you to come home, Angelo."
The driver's voice broke the silence. "Sir, we're here."
I stepped out of the car and onto the familiar grounds of our family's business, the Surrez Group. My grandma, a woman I admired for her determination and business acumen, was waiting for me. She had built this company from scratch, and it had been a pillar of Philippine industry for fifty years.
As I entered the hall, Sophia my sister -in- law approached me. "Angelo, your grandma is waiting for you."
I followed Sophia to the stage, where my grandma was preparing to hand over the reins of the company to me.
"Ladies and gentlemen," my grandma began, her voice strong and confident. "Today marks a new chapter in the history of the Surrez Group. My grandson, Angelo, will take over as CEO, bringing fresh ideas and leadership to our company."
As my grandma continued her speech, I felt a sense of pride and responsibility wash over me. I was ready to take on this new challenge, but a part of me still lingered in the past, remembering Suraya.
