Chapter 3 - Meditation, Three years in the Blink of an Eye

From the corner of his eye, he noticed her face shift. Shock was clear, but it quickly melted into a warm smile, her cheeks flushing as she recovered.

Without saying a word, she hurried off.

While he was relieved to see that this nanny wasn't scared, he couldn't help but wonder, "Why is she so happy?"

As he pondered this, he waited patiently, his mind drifting back to that brief moment when he touched the red flicker of light.

He hadn't experienced it again since then, and the warmth that had once radiated from the base of his spine was gradually fading with time as for the black flicked of light it was basically non-existent.

His mother hurriedly appeared, and when she saw him crawling in the stroller, her eyes lit up, and she almost jumped on the spot with a radiant smile.

'She is also overreacting,' he thought silently as he let out the most innocent giggle a baby could possibly muster.

"Aww, my Noah is not only cute but also a genius! As a warrior family, we are so proud of you." She quickly picked him up and played with him for a long time until he grew exhausted. As she left, she remarked, "It's only been three months, but he has already learned to crawl, worthy of our bloodline."

'Can someone tell me why they are so excited?' The baby in question wanted to cry but could only manage intermittent sounds.

'Okay, my first goal is to learn the language.'

He slowly fell asleep.

At six months old, he finally spoke his first word: "M… Mommy."

Both the father and mother were excited and threw a party just for him. Although the father seemed a little dejected, especially since the incident during his birth, there was always a hint of sadness in his eyes. He really felt bad but he couldn't do anything about this for now.

The warmth from the base of his spine was still there, but it seemed to have decreased by several degrees and was not as effective as before. Also the black flicker of light has completely disappeared and he couldn't call out no matter how he tried to.

He didn't even know if he had a name yet, and he soon found himself with too much time on his hands.

His usual nap time had disappeared as he grew older and no longer needed as much sleep. So, in his free time, he started to sneak around slowly, searching for the book his father had randomly thrown aside.

The nanny usually found something to do in the middle of the night, making it the perfect time for him to sneak around. Carefully, he crawled out of his bed and headed toward the book his father had discarded.

After getting the book, he tried to learn the language of this world as much as possible by any means.

At first, since he already knew three languages from his previous world, it was more challenging, but he soon found his mind unusually clear and active. After a few attempts, he was able to comprehend the language slowly.

In just three months, he had already learned the basics. Writing was a bit more difficult, but he could finally understand the basic words of these people and, at last, knew his name, which he deeply disliked: Noah, Noah Finn.

"Noah, where are you sneaking off to again?"

Noah paused, his small body mechanically turning around as he showed his mother a silly, cute smile. "Muther, I was hangry."

"Oh," the mother heaved a sigh of relief and slowly embraced him again. "Don't go sneaking off again, okay? Mother's heart can't take it."

Noah could hear her soft sobbing, which made his heart throb with pain.

Afterward, he was escorted to his small bed to sleep, as the stroller had become too small for him.

Noah slowly closed his eyes, feeling the pain in his heart increasing. "I can't stand seeing Mother so sad. I… I…"

At that moment, a red bubble appeared in front of him.

Noah looked at the red bubble with blank, hollow eyes. He really wanted to laugh it off. Does this thing, whatever it is, have a sadistic tendency to appear only when he is in pain?

"Sigh." Still, he extended his hand, and immediately a warm energy spread through his body, increasing his connection.

He had already tried to verify it countless times, and it seemed to be Earth. While walking, he didn't fall down once, and even with his chubby legs, he could still walk with a sense of familiarity; the ground seemed to have become his playground.

"I wonder what that black flicker of light was and what mystery it holds?" Thinking of the black flicker of light, a contemplative expression appeared on his tender face.

"Let's meditate." He liked to meditate a lot in his previous world although he might suffer from back ache or even cramping of his muscles but he did it for short periods and always felt his mind calm down a lot and right now he needed that relaxing feeling again.

He slowly sat up, crossing his legs and straightening his back.

Gently, he began to meditate. Many distracting thoughts arose in his mind, but he ignored them, remaining focused and clear-minded on his breath.

Gradually, he fell into a state of meditation. As a baby, he didn't have many distracting thoughts; the only ones were from his previous life. In fact these distractions are key to one's meditation, the more you take away the distracting thoughts, the easier it is to feel a clear state of mind.

However, at such a tender age, falling into meditation was easier.

The warmth at the base of his spine spread through his tiny body increased by several folds, bringing a strange sense of peace. The world around him softened, the noises fading away.

He felt no urgency—only calm, as though the universe itself had sync with his breathing.

After about ten minutes, he slowly opened his groggy eyes and went to sleep again.

It was the middle of the night, and he was very sleepy; the moment he laid down and cuddled with the big pillow, he immediately fell asleep.

The next day, when he woke up, he sat down to meditate again. He had already learned most of the language; as long as he could understand and speak it, he didn't have any problem with learning it later.

With nothing in hand, he sat down to meditate during his free time, even when the nanny was watching. Since she didn't show much reaction, he casually shrugged it off.

This routine continued for a long time, until he turned three years old—this was his third birthday.
