Chapter 78 - 078 Magnet Style: The Value of Gold Dust, and Living Together with Pakura

Hearing the two optional goals given by the diary, Night Star instantly knew which one to choose.

Although both rewards were Kekkei Genkai, their values were worlds apart.

Scorch Release was strong, that was for sure.

But Magnet Release, and Sand Gold, had already surpassed the scope of ordinary ninjutsu, and were precious skills with higher significance.

The Fourth Kazekage, Rasa, relied on the ability to excavate sand gold to add a considerable source of extra income to the barren Hidden Sand Village.

You know, his chakra amount was far from comparable to Night Star's.

From the perspective of individual strength, it was hard to say which of the two Kekkei Genkai, Scorch Release and Magnet Release with Sand Gold, was stronger.

But for a ninja village, or for a clan like the Uchiha, even ten Scorch Releases tied together could not compare to the astonishing value represented by one Magnet Release with Sand Gold!

After making the decision, Night Star did not directly agree to Pakura's request, but looked directly into her eyes and said softly,

"I want to know, why do you think I will definitely help you?"

Unexpectedly, facing this question, Pakura just shook her head.

"I don't know."

Immediately afterwards, she did not avoid Night Star's gaze, and looked at him without showing any weakness, saying,

"I'm just gambling."

"Gambling on what?"

"Gambling that you, Uchiha Night Star, will be the one who can provide me with shelter and help me take revenge on the Hidden Sand Village's high-level officials."

Hearing this answer, Night Star's expression did not change at all, leaving Pakura unsure whether he was satisfied or not.

In the silence, for the first time in her life, Pakura felt that her heart could actually beat so fast, and fine beads of sweat oozed from her back.

When she was reading the diary, she didn't feel it.

When she saw Uchiha Night Star in person, and connected it with the astonishing content in the diary, Pakura realized that just standing in front of him gave her an unbearable sense of pressure.

Just as Pakura felt the pressure increasing, Night Star finally said softly,

"Okay."

These two short words, to Pakura's ears, were simply the most beautiful sounds in the world.

She finally breathed a sigh of relief. With her emotions suddenly relaxing, her legs almost gave way and she nearly knelt on the ground. Fortunately, she controlled herself in time, otherwise she would have lost face.

Night Star seemed to see her embarrassment, and while leading her towards the Hidden Leaf Village gate, he smiled and said,

"Am I that scary?"

Pakura raised the sleeve of her right hand and wiped the sweat from her forehead, secretly slandering him in her heart.

Don't you have any idea what you've done yourself?

Single-handedly annihilating the Hidden Mist's elite troops, fighting the complete Three-Tails, assassinating Hanzo the Salamander, who was known as the Demigod of the Ninja World...

Which of these things was something that ordinary ninjas wouldn't even dare to dream of?

Before meeting Night Star in person, Pakura thought that he would be like the legendary Uchiha Madara, a cold, ruthless, and aloof powerhouse.

After talking to him, she found that he was not as scary as she had imagined, and even his words and deeds were very kind.

This did not make Pakura feel relaxed at all, but instead raised her vigilance a few notches.

Possessing such terrifying strength, yet being able to disguise himself like this, was enough to prove what a terrifying person Night Star was.

When she followed Night Star to the village gate, she discovered something very strange.

The guards at the gate seemed to not see them at all, and their eyes did not even shift a bit. They just let her, an outsider, in like that.

Pakura frowned slightly, thinking that as one of the Five Great Ninja Villages, Hidden Leaf's vigilance couldn't be so low, right?

She turned her head and saw that the Sharingan's three tomoe pattern had already appeared in Night Star's eyes.

As expected, the Sharingan lived up to its reputation.

Just one glance was enough to make the guards at the gate fall into a genjutsu.

As a ninjutsu specialist, Pakura's close combat strength was not very strong. Otherwise, in the original plot, she wouldn't have been ambushed by the Mist ninja who disguised themselves as her subordinates and held kunai.

Similarly, she had no resistance to genjutsu.

What's more, it was the Sharingan that the entire ninja world feared.

Pakura obediently followed behind Night Star and arrived at the entrance of the Uchiha clan's territory.

The Great Elder Uchiha Setsuna and the Clan Head Fugaku had already been waiting there for a long time.

Seeing Pakura following behind Night Star, Fugaku hurried forward and said with a hospitable smile,

"Pakura of the Scorch Release, I've heard so much about you. I am the Clan Head of the Uchiha, Uchiha Fu..."

Fugaku's words were only halfway through when Pakura coldly glanced at him and waved her hand with an extremely impatient attitude.

"I'm not interested."

Fugaku's words were interrupted, and the smile on his face froze.

He originally wanted to establish a good relationship with a powerhouse like Pakura.

No matter what her purpose was for coming here, it wouldn't hurt to win over such a young elite ninja.

But he didn't expect to be treated with such coldness, even disgust.

Seeing this, the Great Elder Uchiha Setsuna hesitated for a moment, but still stepped forward to greet Pakura.

"This old man is Uchiha Setsuna, the Great Elder of this clan."

To his and Fugaku's surprise, Pakura actually nodded slightly and replied very politely,

"Hello, Great Elder."

This confused Fugaku.

He looked at Uchiha Setsuna's face and made a comparison in his heart.

Even if he was considered average-looking within the Uchiha clan, he couldn't be more unacceptable than the Great Elder's old face, right?

Night Star looked at Fugaku and the Great Elder and said calmly,

"Pakura has already defected from the Hidden Sand and has come to seek our Uchiha clan's protection."

Fugaku frowned upon hearing this and wanted to say something, but in the end, he sighed and swallowed his words back down.

He knew that it was useless no matter how much he said.

The hearts and minds of the people in the clan had already turned in the direction Night Star pointed.

The Great Elder had an indifferent attitude and smiled as he nodded.

"As long as you think it's okay, this old man thinks it's okay. It's just that we need to come up with an explanation for the village's higher-ups."

"Yes, I know."

With that, Night Star was about to walk forward.

The Great Elder stopped him: "Hey, where are you going?"

"Home to sleep."

The Great Elder pointed at Pakura, who was standing there, yawned, and waved his hand lazily.

"There are no vacant residences in the clan. You're the only one at your house, and it's big anyway, so take this little girl back to live with you first."

After saying that, the Great Elder pulled Fugaku and quickly walked away.

Night Star turned to look at Pakura, who was standing there looking a little uneasy, and said lightly,

"Sleep at my house?"

A blush appeared on Pakura's cheeks, and like a little rabbit, she nodded obediently.

"Yes, I'll listen to you."
