Ava took a deep breath, her eyes clouding over with memories. "Emily, your parents' accident wasn't just a tragic event. There was more to it, something that's been hidden for years."
Ryan's grip on Emily's hand tightened, sensing the storm brewing.
"What do you mean?" Emily asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Ava's words spilled out, like a dam breaking. "Your parents were investigating something, Emily. Something big. They were getting close to the truth when...when the accident happened."
Emily's eyes widened, her mind reeling. "What were they investigating?"
Ava hesitated, glancing around the shop nervously. "I shouldn't have said this much. It's not safe."
Ryan stepped forward, his eyes locked onto Ava's. "We need to know the truth. What were Emily's parents investigating?"
Ava's gaze darted between Emily and Ryan before she nodded, a resolute look on her face. "I'll tell you everything. But we need to get out of here, now."
