Chapter 6 - Commotion in Quidditch Pitch

AMAIRA'S POV—

The rest of the class went the same like what happened in the book. Lockhart, that foolish man, released the pixies, without even knowing how to control them. Where does Dumbledore find these professors to teach DADA? Changing into my Quidditch uniform, I started walking towards the pitch.

Quidditch is a very dangerous game. I don't know why people even like this. They even made a tournament out of this. The rules of this game are simple. Matches are played on a large oval pitch with three ring-shaped goals of different heights on each side, between two opposing teams of seven players each: three Chasers, two Beaters, the Keeper, and the Seeker. Gryffindorks seeker is Potter. I was the one because of whom, he got selected in their team. He didn't even thank me. I don't know why rules are always bend for Potter. Even the gay blokes seem straight in front of it. Ok, back to the topic now.

The Chasers and the Keeper respectively score with and defend the goals against the Quaffle; the two Beaters bat the Bludgers away from their teammates and towards their opponents; and the Seeker locates and catches the Golden Snitch, whose capture simultaneously wins the Seeker's team 150 points and ends the game. The team with the most points at the end wins.

I don't like this sport at all. But my dear father likes it too much. He wanted his legacy to be carried forward by his son. Unfortunately, for him that is, he has no son.

He has only a daughter, that is me. And like any other good parent, he forced me to join the team despite, my obvious hatred for this game. I mean, while like duelling and all, this is something only plebeian people could like.

I tried to reason with him but, I got slapped and was ordered to join the team. 'Join or leave the house.' These were his words. Don't think that he is lying, he would really throw me out of the house.

Then, like a scared little girl, I accepted his condition. The irony is, I am the team's Seeker. When I talked with Flint, he gave me this position without any explanation. I am truly impressed by this move of his. I always believed he was a brute. This move of his would definitely mess with Potter's head. To see his rival at the same position he is, would discourage him.

At the ground, the rest of my team members joined me.

Flint, our captain, said, "Your father is very generous. If he didn't give us the new version broomsticks, I would have never allowed you in my team."

I sneered, "Do I look someone who's dying to get in your team? I just don't like Quidditch; I hate it. You should have never allowed me in your team."

Flint smirked, "Who told you that you are in the team? You are our substitute player."

I narrowed my eyes at him. If course, he won't let me play. He just fooled my idiotic father. I stated, "Fine."

Just as Flint was about to say something, his attention was caught by something else. Oliver Wood and his team were heading towards the pitch. Flint and the rest of the team members went towards them. In the book, they had a confrontation and Weasel's spell backfired on him.

Flint asked, "What are you doing here Oliver?"

Oliver said, "We are here for practice. We have the permit with us. So, I want you and your team to get out of here."

Flint smirked, "I don't know what permit you have, but we have," he took out a scroll from his pocket and waved it, "this is the real permit. So, Oliver, you and your team can wipe your asses somewhere else."

While Oliver and Flint were arguing, Potter spots me. Astonished, he exclaimed, "Malfoy?! What are you doing here?!"

"Potter," I said blankly.

Weasel asked, "What are you doing here?"

Before I could answer, Flint said, "Malfoy is our substitute Seeker, Weasley. You see, her father is very generous. He gave us new broomsticks, that are better than yours."

Granger said, "So, he bought his daughter's position in the team. Why am I even surprised? Slytherins are like that."

"Nobody asked you, Mudblood," said a member of my team.

Gryffindorks enraged by his words, attacked Slytherins. They were using… fists? Ok, this wasn't in book.

Seeing them attacked by Gryffindorks, my teammates retaliated against them. Just as I was about to move away from there, someone punched me in the nose, breaking it.
